On my MBP 8,1 every since i updated to Monterey safari would freeze and so does Firefox. I have not tried chrome.
I never had this issue on Big Sur... (I may go back)
I'm only on Monterey 12.1 beta (21C5031d)
beta3 has not showed up for me yet (I'm only on the public beta train so not sure if it's not released yet to public beta testers or it's an issue with OCLP).
I also am running the latest OCLP via git and update it often so it's even newer then the nightly's
Both Chrome and Edge work. Edge installs too much stuff where it is difficult to remove. So, it is only under these unusual circumstances recommend Chrome. Forgive me? ??

12.1 beta 3 running fine on rMBP 10,1 external SSD for 24 hours, both gpus are Metal capable. Only issue to report is still no Airplay Receiver selectable under System Prefs > Sharing, same as for beta 2. OCLP is 3.1, would a nightly fix that? Not that I have any need for Airplay at this point.

Hi rehkram,
the issue had been fixed by clean install with OCLP0.3.1 or 0.3.2, I don't know what's happening on the OTA, you can try, you will see the airplay receiver again

If you want to know what the Nightlies fix you can read the Changelog: https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/blob/main/CHANGELOG.md

One of the fixes in the 0.3.2 Nightlies is "Fix AirPlay to Mac on macOS 12.1". Not sure if AirPlay to Mac is relevant to what you are wanting to do though. AirPlay to Mac enables you to do things like stream a video from your iPhone to play on your Mac.

Thanks guys, Airplay is kind of superfluous to my requirements. But like a good beta tester, I wanna know how to get it working :) I will give 0.3.2 nightlies a go. Trying to avoid clean installs at this point, too many lately. And if that's what it takes, that's what it takes.

Hi guys ! Congrats to those who were able to install Monterey without worries !

I have iMac mid-2011 27 inch on Big Sur 11.6.1 with metal GPU (NVIDIA Quadro K3100m by nikey22) using OCLP 0.2.4 who was installed at the time.

Do you think the Monterey OTA updates will pass without any problem ? The only thing is that I have not changed the wifi and bluetooth card. Or maybe it's better to perform a clean install with new versions of OCLP ?

Thanks for you answers, and have a nice day :)

Didn‘t see the beta3 from a beta2 booted with a recent oclp 0.3.2 nightly. Booted with 0.3.1 release, beta3 showed up. Used latest 0.3.2 nightly then for post-install volume patch.

Time for me to try Chrome then…
Firefox in my case crashed in 12.1 betas until they came up with version 94.0.x. Hope for such an improvement again. Otherwise no obstacles seen to switching to 12.1 once released.
Will keep 11.6.2 as well with some mutual data synching. It is so good with ASB‘s BlurBeta! And reliable.

You will need to update to a newer OCLP than 0.2.4 even with a metal GPU, see the changelog. I would update to a newer OCLP whilst still on Big Sur.

You can try doing an upgrade to Monterey over the Big Sur installation.

Monterey is still pretty new.

I still stay in BS 11.6.1 now because of the crashing of Safari in Monterey.
If the issue is resolved, I will go to Monterey.
I hope to do soon.

Anyone else had more strange behaviour of track pad on Beta3? Since Beta 1, tap to click rarely works and now three finger swipe between screens is very erratic, takes me in the opposite direction or just bounces the page to the left or right.

?️Just tried FF 94.0.2 candidate, locks up worse than 91.3esr in Beta 3. Chrome imported from FF all but P/Ws ?

We have the same machine and yes you can but unlike big sur, you will need to apply post install patch to get graphics acceleration and wifi working in monterey which will break the delta updates. you also dont need to upgrade your bt/wifi card but if you can do that, it will be better. So if losing delta update is alright with you, then heres what you should do:
1. update your oclp to latest stable release (get the offline TUI version)
2. update from big sur to monterey natively.
3. re-run oclp (dont change anything on the settings, or you can change the bootpicker option to false only)
4. reboot
5. run oclp again and apply post install patch
6. reboot.
7. enjoy!

Yes. Perhaps more subtle here, but on MBP 10,1 definitely missing tap to clicks and need to tap to click again to get pages and links to load in Safari. Pretty much two clicks needed every time it seems so far. Same in Firefox. Chrome works as expected.

Edit: On MBP 10,1 installing latest 0.3.2n and redoing the post install patch appears to have helped.

Thanks for your help. Well I think I'll check this out later, or see instead wait for a new version of OCLP, as Big Sur is working fine so far on my machine :)

This has been reported for supported Macs too.
