😳Openly dissing Dosdude1 in the MacRumors forum is like openly dissing Jesus at church on Sundays.😳

You know that Dosdude1 and the other patchers on this forum have extended the life of tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands, if not millions of Macs, right? Catalinapatcher video on YouTube has 1.4 million views! That’s a lot of Macs saved each year from the landfill and tons of $$ saved for individuals. These developers who patch MacOS do the best they can , free of charge! OMG, speechless @ post #465!
ACK! I knew that without some silly emoj this would be misinterpreted.
It was certainly sarcasm and in total jest as I have much respect for the man.

@chris1111 you could try use my simple app and replace directly from Monterey Finder the kext and bundles:

I also should try your USB Wifi patches for non metal Mac, I guess if they are based on Ethernet and ethernet still works on Monterey they should work as Big Sur.
Thanks @jackluke
I try and I have error at the end Can not create snapShot on the disk do you know what is the error?

System not bootable after reboot

Yes the USB Wifi patches works for Monterey I have indicate Support Monterey

Before snapshot failed, do you had a working "sudo mount -uw /" ?

And check if you had also this folder:

open /System/Volumes/Update/

because as many others I use as mount point the Update mnt1 folder, probably this is available only on EFI Mac, not sure.

In that case I should fix my BigSurmountsrw using another empty folder as temporary system mount point .

But I don't know much how snapshot booting is handled on non Mac hardware.

If you need to fix "sudo mount -uw /" on non Mac hardware maybe try this:
Dropbox link

restore the DMG to an empty USB drive, boot from there and from utilities select "BigSurFixes delete snapshot" in that way any snapshot is removed and you could replace kext more easier without a snapshot.

Yes everything look good the volume is mounted and I can put my kext in SLE
but after the Button Rebuild KC,
Then waiting I have the snapshot error at the end :( I try 3 time, I have to reinstall again the Monterey system

Before reinstall try the "BigSurFixes delete snapshot" method though that my modified DMG, I edited previous post.

@chris1111 from your machine when you boot from bootloader do you target the Monterey System or Monterey Preboot ?

Because you should target the Preboot, moreover in some cases is required also to type "kcditto" to correctly copy the updated BootKernelExtensions to the target System Preboot .

Try this from CMD+S:

Code:
mount -P 1
mount -P 2
kcditto
reboot

Sytem is not bootable anymore; I have also BS on the laptop can i do in Big Sur and fix Monterey disk?

OK sorry I see edited post

Yes, it should work also on Monterey disk , I mean without reinstall you could attempt, it doesn't affect other macOS installation, but you should type correctly the Preboot diskXs2 and System label when asked from the script.

Sorry for jumping on you! I needed the silly emoji to feel your humor!

But what’s a MacRumors thread, anyway, without a little bit of drama?😘😘😘🤣

System boot but stuck at IOconsoleUsers
anyway that's not areal problem to reinstall I have big time to loose :D Thanks again

You could try a different prelinkedkernel for booting my BigSurBasesystemfix here is another that I'd try on a non Mac hardware: prelinkedkernelb3ivybridge.zip

you should simply replace that on this path /BigSurBaseSystemfix/System/Library/Prelinkedkernels/

I could even provide a stock apple early beta prelinkedkernel, because those I uploaded and use are patched for EFI Mac , mainly use legacy IOUSB patches and minimal graphics kext, but maybe you should also try a different config.plist for kext that you inject that maybe are incompatible with the ones I used on BigSurBaseSystemfix.

I am enough sure that it can boot from a non Mac hardware and that my method of deleting snapshots will work.

After re-reading your #465, this may help you in the future. No one here owes you anything especially @dosdude1 and perhaps you could owe him YOUR DONATION for the man-years of effort he has afforded you and many others. Please, turn down that sense of entitlement as it can make one look foolish. 🤨

Just a quick heads-up: In looking at a dump that @Larsvonhier sent me (regarding an issue he posted earlier), I discovered that mediaanalysisdcontains AVX instructions with no apparent test for AVX availability (much like we saw with the SSE4.2 instructions in the AMD video drivers). I'm guessing that the oldest officially supported machines all support AVX (I haven't looked), so Apple no longer needs to worry about testing for AVX availability before using the instructions. I don't have time for an in-depth analysis right now, and I don't know precisely what Lars was doing/how his system was configured that the AVX instructions got executed, but be aware that we may see more unfiltered AVX+ instructions over time. If you get an application crash or panic report that contains "Illegal Instruction," I'd like to hear about it - it's probably worth documenting these, so we know what needs to be worked around/avoided.
