Guys, this is also happening with iOS and WatchOS!

I have both my iPhone XR and Watch 6 enrolled in Public Betas. Neither iOS 15.4.1 nor Watch OS 8.5.1 are showing for me.
It is so easy. Delete your beta Profil on Monterey 12,3 RC, IOS 15,4 RC and watchos 8,5 RC, Reboot the devices and you will have 12,3.1, 15,4.1 and 8,5.1. update showing in settings.
sudo /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Seeding.framework/Versions/A/Resources/seedutil unenroll
and later again
sudo /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/Seeding.framework/Versions/A/Resources/seedutil enroll DeveloperSeed

Thank you that worked right now I have Big Sur running on mine and will install Monterey on an external until I can save to take it to the unofficial Apple repair shop to have an SSD and upgrade to 8gb memory as I am unemployed and was told about $250 just for the labor

You can save a lot of money by doing it by yourself. There are many videos on youtube. Replacing RAM can be difficult if the motherboard must be out. SSD is often easy.

Hmnn, have always thought you need to reinstall macOS going from beta to public release.

Could be wrong, someone else can comment on what works.
You can go straight from a beta to a public release. At the moment there are no betas (the last one was for 12.3), so the latest developer release is just the release version of 12.3.1. The only time the system needs to be reinstalled is when going from a beta back to an older public release, e.g. from 12.3 beta to 12.2 public.

The 1,200 second Catalyst crash is a feature built into OCLP043 for non-Metal Macs. Reverting to OCLP042 Offline variant, cold-boot bless is the temporary fix for now. OCLP developers see no fix for 043 in sight. Raising the issue on Discord not advised. They are well aware. ;)
To sum up: Basically we're telling Messages vs keyboard backlight? Guess, I'm with you...

Honestly, I don't use messages on mac, I have seen it as an issue so it was more of a curiosity for me since things went so smooth. on my machine.

Glad there is at least a workaround. Thanks for sharing 👍
np - this cooked-in "feature" only effects non-Metal Macs running a Catalyst app with OCLP_043 in Monterey and Big Sur, the app will crash in 1,200 seconds from launch and will only relaunch after logging out and back in - only to crash, again in 1,200 seconds. Bummer because 043 fixes so many visual gremmies and supports Macs newer than 2010 better.

This display brightness HUD bug still persists with a connected monitor. Upon reboot, each screen has its own corresponding HUD. Coming out of screen saver / sleep, login and here it goes.

Hello to all,

It has been a while since I posted, however, I do follow information flow in this thread when time permits.

I revived the MacBook Pro 5,2 (after video chip demise) and it is functional within limits of the hardware and OCLP’s ability to update to the newest OS.

*** Machine specs, 2009 MBP 5,2 with 17" display, 1 TB EVO SSD, 8 GB of RAM, 3.06 GHz C2D, NVIDIA GEforce 9600M GT 512 MB and NVIDIA GEforce 9400 with 258 MB (it is near twin to HVDS' machine and identical to Macintosh HD's MBP)

Internal SSD has three partitions, each holding a bootable OS X version: Monterey 12.3.1, Big Sur 11.6.5, and Catalina 10.15.7 (with 2022-003 security update applied). All partitions function without any obvious problems (not already listed by other posters).

Just as a data point, Big Sur and Monterey are installed via OCLP (0.4.3n full version, and GUI version, latter to allow for implementation of blur effect)

Catalina still relies on Dosdude1’s patcher. It is currently an only OS version, on MacBook Pro 5,2, which allows direct streaming of digital content.

***A late 2012 iMac 13,2 with 27" screen, 1 TB fusion drive, 28 GB of RAM, 3.4 GHz Quad Core i7, and
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2 GB.

Two partitions on the Fusion Drive, one with Catalina (runs natively), and the other running Monterey 12.3.1 via OCLP 0.4.3n***. No discernible issues noted on the iMac.

One more note. While there is no Universal Control functionality (as of yet) between the two macs listed above, connecting them via sharing panel in system preferences, then selecting screen sharing (with wifi and bluetooth on) does allow access to each mac's screen and transfer of files. The desktop of one mac appears (in separate window) on the screen of the second mac . Launching applications also works; I believe that is an expected functionality.

Thank you to OCLP developers and participants in this thread, who made the progress to 12.3.1 possible.

My intel Mac mini 2018 supported Mac currently on 12.3 is not seeing the OTA update to 12.3.1 either. I wouldn't worry about it, it'll turn up eventually.

would all this open core APFS install stuff work better with a brand new ssd drive?
thanks in advance
Personally I haven't seen any stone cold solid information that confirms this idea. I'm running an OWC drive and am OK, never had to reinstall the OEM SSD inside the chassis. Maybe it depends on what m/c you're running? Or maybe it's a red herring. Plenty of those swimming around, I've 'spawned' a few myself (pun fully intended).

every step includes erasing the drive
then formatting the drive.......

You don´t even have to install nothing. Just boot from an USB installer. First thing it does is to update the firmware, if available. And you can cancel the installation after that.
WHAT?! I was about to try installing Catalina, and I don't even need to do that? This would be WONDERFUL news!

Only if you're not running APFS. What file system are you running? If it ain't APFS you shouldn't expect it to work without a reformat. Duh!;)

I'll add that to my 'best practices' post, I assumed it was totally obvious, obviously not.

Mac OS 12.3.1 OCLP 0.4.3 it takes about 20 seconds from turning on to the appearance of the Apple logo ! Tell me what I configured incorrectly in OCLP ...

apple something silver and Mojave journaled

i might get a eBay MacBook pro 2012 then open core that with Monterry
why?
dont know today
I recommend you go to the next major release up from Mojave, which would be Catalina. Then go to Big Sur, then Monterey. That's just my opinion, it's the lowest risk approach.

The first upgrade, to Catalina, will automatically convert your file system to APFS, if I remember correctly. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong.

Hmmm... doesn't sound like an OCLP related problem actually. Sometimes such problems go away after a few more reboots, I have no idea why. Anyway, give that a try.

i wished i stayed at mountain lion!
but since i need 32 bit apps like adobe CS4 to feed my family...
and that great screen saver that fades during the day is a soothing welcome.

my objective is to use a pure ssd drive that does not have any data for a new OS experience.
no matter the year
since its open core.

My diagnosis is that you really need to become familiar with Disk Utility. It's the Apple app with a stethoscope in Apple / Other. Looks like this:

But really, if you need to run 32 bit apps why on earth are you trying to update to Mojave Monterey? They will never run on a 64 bit system. Fact.
