Hey! A have a problem with Safari on Monterey 12.6.1 (iMac27 mid2011). I updated Safari to ver. 16.1 (official release) and it stopped working properly - when trying to open any page using cookies, Safari starts to immediate reload (two times) and come up with "a problem repeatedly occurred"... I've tried lots of "100 percent working" fixies but nothing really worked. I figured out that it was connected with cookies - when I disable cookies pages are loading normally. But with denied cookies some of pages are not working - e.g. gmail login etc. Anybody who had same problem and fixed that? Thx
I got the same problem, you can find the solution in this thread... Following my "case": few days ago I installed Monterey 12.6.1 with OCLP 0.5.1, later I updated Safari from 16 to 16.1. After such update I got the problem you mentioned. Searching this thread I found the suggested fix, I did the following: 1) I Installed the new OCLP 0.5.2 and 2) I run the "post install root patcher". Now Safari 16.1 seems to work properly. Important to say, running again the 0.5.1. post install no patches were identified ... so I downloaded the 0.5.2 new OCLP version and I got many patches to install.

I've noticed a few recent issues with my late 2012 Mac mini running Monterey 12.3.1.
  • Using OCLP 0.4.3, my SD card reader would only intermittently work. I guess it has something to do with the changes related to SDXC support for Prev-Ivy Bridge Macs mentioned in the release notes because reverting back to 0.4.2 has solved the problem.
  • Another issue I have is that after the screen saver has been running the computer acts really slow for a couple of minutes, almost as though it is out of RAM. The mouse cursor moves fluently, but any interactions with the interface have a substantial input lag, even typing in the terminal. I haven't yet been able to determine if the problem is related to my version of OCLP, my model of Mac, or the specific screen saver I'm using (Sliding Panels slideshow).
Anyone else experience these issues? Monterey has otherwise been great in my experience.
Hi, same problem for sdxc cards on my MBP 9,1 with Monterey or Ventura, OCLP 0.5.2. The sdxc card needs to be inserted before the boot, otherwise it doesn’t mount. And it is always readonly.

I have an iMac 12.1 with M5100 GPU, presently in Monterey 12.6.1 using opencore 0.50.
Can I update OC to 0.52? Will I have any problems? Fyi I want to remain to Monterey, I will not update to Ventura.
I tend to update and install OCLP whenever there's a new version just to overcome any issues. I don't see any issue with you updating to 0.5.2. I did it with an old MBP 2011 running 12.6.1, no problems.

Actually unfortunately I did have an issue. My sound was not working so I reverted back to 0.50.

Thank you @madvinegar and @ChrisOSX for the heads up with the missing audio using OCLP 0.5.1 for Monterey 12.6.1.

In wanting to be up-to-date with the latest OCLP install with my iMac 12,2 I didn't realise these versions would impact the internal speakers (through AppleALC 1.7.6). Since I didn't have any of the speaker icons etc. on the top menu bar (not even headset or mic) I decide to double check under the hardware hood but all the connections are fine.

I'll keep with OCLP 0.5.1 and will wait and see if this is resolve in the next update.

Just to advise that I installed OCLP 0.52 and then replaced the updated appleALC.kext with the old version. Unfortunately, the sound still doesn't work, so it must be something more than just this specific Kext.

I compared the config.plist files but the changes are very minor and irrelevant to the sound properties.

I cannot continue testing the kexts as I want first to find a way to boot back to the desktop using and external USB drive in case I mess up the OCLP installation in my main drive.

Hey all, I have a question regarding Bluetooth. I saw on the install page support for universal control, I have a 2009 MacBook Pro so I needed to get a Bluetooth 4 USB dongle, I did, it's a UB400 adapter. But, universal control, handoff, airdrop, connecting to AirPods doesn't work at all. I spent the last 4 hours trying to find a fix, installed some kexts in the Library/Extensions folder, tried some 8 year old apps, but nothing worked. If some of you got any of this working please let me know how. Thanks

I have universal control working on my old MacPro but only because I have replaced the wifi card with a more recent Apple wifi/bt card. I don't think you will get the features you are looking for with third-party hardware. Sonnet makes a bluetooth dongle that says it works for Mac but it uses their driver and I don't think it works for universal control.

Looking through the OCLP build log after the "Build and Install OpenCore" option using 0.5.1, I noticed that 0.5.1 adds AppleALC.kext 1.6.3

Which is weird because the newest is 1.7.6. So what happened in between those releases? Maybe if it was a single variation apart it would be easier to narrow down.

I didn't notice the big differences in build numbers, Figured it was only one off 🤷‍♂️

For anybody wondering, the credits on main page of OCLP, AppleALC was pulled from Acidanthera on github.

Can confirm this worked.

AppleALC 1.6.3 (last used in OCLP 0.5.1) is the last version that enabled the audio jack correctly on my machine. I did do some trouble shooting and worked my way backwards from the newest version (1.7.6), backwards to 1.6.3.

Steps taken:
  1. Mounting EFI. (diskutil list, diskutil mount /dev/disk0s1 (your volume may vary)).
  2. Replace file (only replacing AppleALC.kext).
  3. Rebooting every time.
  4. Repeat until I have audio port sound. Gaining sound should also change your status bar icon.

Hope this helps, and thank you @armanism for that rabbit hole I went down 👍

Hi, I just installed Monterey 12.6.1 on my MacBook7,1 with OCLP 0.5.2. Bluetooth initially looks like it works, but when I want to connect to something like my 2nd gen AirPods Pro (I didn’t pair them, they were automatically paired cause of the Apple ID) it’s just won’t connect: if I try via Control Center to connect to the AirPods Pro (2nd generation) the wheel of the connection waiting just keep spinning, if I try to connect to them via System Preferences > Bluetooth nothing happens, I tried to pair Beats Solo 2 and they appear but if I click on pair then nothing happens.

Do you know a fix? Doubt it’s related, it has 4GB of RAM for now. Hope it’s something solvable without an HW upgrade for AirPort/Bluetooth card. Or trying a precedent version of OCLP could do the trick?

Thank you very much for any help, would love to be able to use my AirPods (and anyway, Bluetooth) on Monterey on this MacBook (waiting for Ventura support in OCLP, hoping for Bluetooth to work)!

In a maybe similar situation I removed all connections in the System Preferences and shut the machine down. After powering on I immediately forced an NVRAM reset, and after that Bluetooth connections could be established normally.
Some if not all Bluetooth connections are also stored in the NVRAM.

Thanks but unfortunately it didn’t work, still won’t connect to anything via Bluetooth. I just hope it’s not MacBook7,1’s AirPort/Bluetooth card that doesn’t have Bluetooth working on Monterey even though patched.
I have OC installed on an external SSD’s EFI partition though, even though I know it can be removed I would prefer to not install it on internal SSD’s EFI partition. EDIT: I don’t know if not having OC in internal drive’s EFI may cause the problem

I have experienced various issues with Bluetooth mice (seriously refusing to connect) and USB disks (not ejecting properly) running 12.6.1 on a late 2014 iMac 15,1. Both were alleviated upon installation of the Beta #2 12.6.2.
(BTW, does anyone with a developer's account at Apple have any news about B3 or a RC?)

12.6.2 B2 is available at

guys, solved! I turn off Bluetooth on the MacBook, rebooted it, turn on Bluetooth again and voilà 😃
But it was too late and so I didn’t try to reboot the MacBook with Bluetooth on and see if it connect to the AirPods/any other Bluetooth, I’ll see today

Thank you for your answers!

First Safari tries to reload the page. After second attempt is says "A problem occured repeatedly with page xyz... and a shows a button "reload page ""
I get the same problem with some websites, Monterey 12.6.1 with Safari 16.1 on my MacPro3,1. It didn't happen with earlier Safari version. You can temporarily disable JavaScript (in Safari Security settings) to load the webpage.

I will try again, and I will clean also Nvram this time.

I tried again but this time followed the below sequence.

I was in OC 0.50
Updated to OC 0.51 )all working well).
Updated from OC 0.51 to OC 0.52 (sound not working)
Replaced Applealc.kext v1.7.6 with v1.6.3 and rebooted.
After reboot, again no sound. Rebooted again and now sound is working.

So yes, you can install OC 0.52 and then replace Applealc.kext with v1.6.3 to get sound working.

I posted under your quoted post. #8,064, confirming the same. Regardless, glad you were able to resolve your issue as I have 👍
