Use the latest nightly build of OCLP and report back next time a complete description of your hardware and software status quo.So just wondering if this is how it should go MacBook Pro 11,3 download update reboot always gets stuck after doing 40% on second boot no time remaining or anything assuming this is the graphics Kepler bit , switch it off power up in a safe mode patch Kepler reboot and all works is there a better way to do it ? Or do I have to force shut down each time? Thanks
Happens on Big Sur, too. Root cause unknown. A single user claims bad memory was his problem.Hello, I've recently rolled up my MBA (early 2014, 4GB) to Monterey B8 at basically all went smooth and seems to be working. But not so long after installing the system it started dropping notifications visible on screenshots. I have no clue how to deal with it; using sudo purge is only a temporary solution. Does anyone have any idea what to do with it, except downgrading to Big Sur?
edit: I've already wiped the whole drive and reinstalled the OS
FWIW and the usual caveats from one user here also but I have been using OLP for a while now and I have seen this only on multi-boot with Mac OS versions so suspected some form of EFI corruption that might perhaps be expected in such scenarios. My evidence is only that a clean wipe of the container partitions has resolved it here for me so far every time. Now on Monterey beta 9 on Macbook 10,1 (close to flawless) and Macbook Air 3,2 (very usable).Happens on Big Sur, too. Root cause unknown. A single user claims bad memory was his problem.
But we may face in fact a memory problem, who knows after 7-13 years life time.
Do you know how to access recovery mode on unsupported mac? I've tried using cmd + R, thus it ends up with corssed circle logo in the center and link to apple support page.FWIW and the usual caveats from one user here also but I have been using OLP for a while now and I have seen this only on multi-boot with Mac OS versions so suspected some form of EFI corruption that might perhaps be expected in such scenarios. Just press space bar on the OCLP boot picker screen and select your recovery...Do you know how to access recovery mode on unsupported mac? I've tried using cmd + R, thus it ends up with corssed circle logo in the center and link to apple support page.
isnt it on the list with no form of graphics acceleration currently?MacBookAir3,1 survives
Since development is in progress the list on the first post is out of date. This is a fast moving target.isnt it on the list with no form of graphics acceleration currently?
Well. I have the MacBookAir3,2 working also, which has the same graphics and was launched at the same time.isnt it on the list with no form of graphics acceleration currently?
On my MacBookAir3,1, I have the same issue. I'm also looking to see if anybody has a workaround. It kinda makes doing OTA updates a pain.Well. I have the MacBookAir3,2 working also, which has the same graphics and was launched at the same time.
So whatever that list is, is not completely correct...
Some metal-based apps like the Home app and maps has issues but overall working quite well with Monterey beta 9.
Also a question if someone else has the same MacBookAir3,2:
On my MacBookAir3,2 I have to keep the alt key pressed always when booting to see and select the disks.
If anyone else is seeing that and has a workaround I would appreciate a hint very much.
