Hi guys, just finished installing on my MBP 9,2 mid 2012 non-retina the new macOS Monterey 12.0.1 using OCLP 0.2.5 from OTA and besides getting stuck, after numerous reboots, at apple logo half way for a long time, forcing me to do a hard reboot, after which all went ok (two more reboots and a smooth restart). Installed the HD4000 patch and all working perfect! Smooth and fast! Thanks everyone for the support. By the way, proud to say that I have placed my order of the new MacBook Pro, 14", with M1Max, 32 Cores, 64 GB and 1TB SSD in silver! It says it will be delivered in about a week. Can't wait!

?AHOY! MacOS 12.01 installed perfectly OTA atop Beta 10 on this Mini3,1. Re-installed OCLP EFI and NVIDIA and WI-FI root patches from the curret OCLP_031n Offline Variant which completed as normal. Option>control booted into OCLP then selected Monterey ENTER>progress far ran until 2/5th complete then came the black screen of death.:apple:☠️ Still looking for a method to recover.?
I confirm, system volume patch - fatally breaked successfully apdated MacOS 12.0.1 (OCLP 0.3.0NB). On my MacMini 3.1 (late 2009)
System breaks on loginwindow

Two failed OTA updates, downloaded the OTA full 11 GB 12.0.1 package twice, took over an hour each time to do its thing, came up still on beta 10 both times.

Ah well. At least it came up. Upgrade to Big Sur 11.6.1 worked perfectly earlier. I'll think about it again in the morning, good night y'all.

I'm on Beta 10, but RC doesn't show up
Same here, maybe something changed again at the apple side.
It happened in beta 6 (or 7?), khronokernel was able to (partially) patch with featureunlock kext and after that oc was updated, and I was able to see the ota delta updates or full updates (unsealed root) in system panel with both methods.
@khronokernel do you experience the same and/or can confirm this?
Thank you

Macbook Pro 13" mid 2010 - OCLP 03.1
I had the same problem here with black screen. What I did in desperation was reset PRAM, some reboot and also reset SMC. I don't know what solved it, but it ended up working again.

I'm on Beta 10, but RC doesn't show up. Any tips?
I'm running the latest OCLP on Mac Pro 5,1.
Even my officially supported MBP only found it on the fourth check, lost it on the fifth, found it again on the sixth.

Installing 12.0.1 on the MBP12,1, the MP5,1 still isn't seeing it (even with VMM flag on). I'll give it time.

Who has installed Monterey RC (12.0.1) on Mac mini 2012? Any issues? What’s the installation process? Currently have Big Sur running with OCLP.

Updated to rc and running perfectly I hoped to get 10 years out of my MacBook Pro 2014 and I it’s still running great thanks to everyone that supports these updates. Out of interest does anyone know if the same patching method would work on M1 macs when they become unsupported? Thanks again.

The same patching method definitely won't work on M1 macs, unfortunately. OpenCore (and so OpenCore Legacy Patcher, which is built on OpenCore) is based on UEFI which M1 macs do not have.

@furdi Hey, seems like your MBP is a laptop version of my Mac mini 2012 with effectively same hardware. I can't seem to get an answer from anyone if it's safe to upgrade from my OCLP Big Sur install to Monterey 12.0.1.
Do you mind sharing the steps you took to upgrade/install? Thanks

Upgrading to Monterey from Big Sur fixed the sealed system boot panic when not using OC. I wonder if the OCLP somehow broke the seal when installed first. Also worth mentioning that MBP11.3 only needs -no_compat_check boot argument for booting Monterey without OC. There is no need for board id spoofing and power management profile change. Of course the updates may be broken without OC. Beats me why Apple dropped support for MBP11.3.
That's really interesting indeed!
- Have you added this boot flag in multiple places? It's in the com.apple.Boot.plist , right?
- knowing this, do you think it's possible to upgrade or install without OC or OCLP by just modifying the plists?
Thanks!

Changing files in a sealed volume is not a good idea, but it is possible. But the simple boot NVRAM argument is a no brainer.

Thanks, just looking for the cleanest way to upgrade mine. So you’d still suggest the OC approach?
As you said, I’m also baffled that they’d excluded the 11,3 if you look at the 11,4’s specs

You can install OC, but you can always select native boot by invoking the boot picker on boot and select either native or OC and compare both.

Thanks, but do you think there is a recommended approach without OC required for this 11,3?
Or am just wishful thinking..
