I've got a Late 2012 Mac mini as well. Running 12.0.1. Just tried airdrop and works fine both ways mini to iPhone and iPhone to mini.View attachment 1877793Everything works flawlessly... except Airdrop. I can transfer data iPhone -> Mini but not iPhone <- Mini.
No biggie as this is an RC which may get ironed out with further development of Universal Control.
A huge thanks to @khronokernel / @dosdude1 / @dhinakg and the rest of the Dortania team for their work on OCLP!

Will you let me know if there is noticeable lag time in processing speed upon upgrading to the final full release of macOS 12 Monterey? All the Beta's I tried were EXPONENTIALLY slower than Big Sur, on my mid 2012 A1278 MBP with 16gb of RAM and a 500 gb internal SSD driveInstalling this on a Mid 2012, 13" MBP as soon as possible ?
Ouch! That’s rough, but I will update. Just to be sure, this was with graphics acceleration? Will you let me know if there is noticeable lag time in processing speed upon upgrading to the final full release of macOS 12 Monterey? Yes my Big Sur has graphics acceleration but Monterey I could not never get the color scheme right, at least on the Beta VersionsOuch! That’s rough, but I will update. Just to be sure, this was with graphics acceleration?
Interesting. I will definitely play with the open core patcher to see if that helps.Yes my Big Sur has graphics acceleration but Monterey I could not never get the color scheme right, at least on the Beta Versions
Yeah I even updated to Big Sur 11.6.1 this morning, so I think what I’ll do is just partition my main SSD drive and install macOS 12 Monterey onto that. I have MORE than enough RAM with 16gbs, so I don’t know what might be slowing down macOS Monterey besides maybe necessary increased GPU output?Interesting. I did not like the performance for Big Sur on an early 2011 MBP, but holding out hope for these Mid 2012s after how well Big Sur was running.
I’m not sure how familiar you are with running macOS on unsupported hardware, but without full gpu acceleration it’s going to be a miserable experience. This would be the case from 4GB all the way up to 128GB RAM. It’s a driver issue.Yeah I even updated to Big Sur 11.6.1 this morning, so I think what I’ll do is just partition my main SSD drive and install macOS 12 Monterey onto that. OTA is possible, create and keep an Big Sur time machine backup just in case you have to go back. You should already see the update announced within the system software update preference pane. Update to the latest OCLP version in advance!Question: when upgrading from OCLP installation of Big Sur to Monterey, do we need to create a USB installer, or is it possible OTA?
not yet. I am still waiting for our Xavier @ASentientBot to come up with a miracle for all non-metal Macs including my iMacs, particularly for the iMessage scrolling issue.Have those weird graphics glitches on MacBook Pro’s from 2009 and 2010 have been solved? Like the side and top quick menu? And what about iMessage scrolling, has that been solved also?
