Even with patches I cannot update my mid-2015 iMac 27" to Monterey without losing 5k resolution. But I can still update my old faithful 2009 5,1 MacPro.?
What a statement to the build quality and thoughtful future proof engineering that went in these machines. And of course to the witty developers that manage to make modern OS still work on it.

I've got a Late 2012 Mac mini as well. Running 12.0.1. Just tried airdrop and works fine both ways mini to iPhone and iPhone to mini.

Could be a kext that’s not loading properly or at all. I’ll have to dig into the EFI and /Library/Extensions folder at some point and get it sorted.

Greatly appreciate any advice on after install patch. I’m having trouble with oclp on a early 2011 MacBook pro. It goes into a loop and doesn’t open Big Sur or Monterey. OCLP goes fine. Is there anything I have to check on post install patch? Also doesn’t show as MacBook monitor, shows 27 inch basic monitor in display setting.

Are you using the graphical patcher or TUI in terminal session? I highly recommend the command line over the graphical patcher, despite it more daunting for some.

Has anyone tried the final version with a MacMini6,2 (core i7)? I tried using Patched Sur in the past and while it did install Big Sure (eventually after a few tries) I found it to be unstable with frequent Kernel Panics. I'm hoping that OpenCore will be more stable, but I'm wondering if I should wait a few weeks for the bugs to be ironed out.

Yes. I used either Patcher Sur or BarryKN’s patcher or both originally to install Big Sur on the exact same system. Switched over to OCLP by about 11.2 or so last year—everything worked 100% flawlessly since the. Did an OTA upgrade, after first updating the OCLP itself, using OCLP 0.3.1, last week to 12.0 and then to 12.0.1–everything works great, zero issues.

Seamless OTA update from 11.6.1 to 12.0.1. on Macmini6.1 with OCLP 0.3.0 GUI.

I was using Big Sur/OCLP on my Mini without a single problem the last year. Because the HD4000 is no longer supported now in Monterey I have to disable SIP and SBM and run the System Volume Patcher after each update, also there are no more OTA Delta updates.

For me that‘s a small price to pay to keep my Mini in business for at least another year, it still feels like it‘s officially supported. :)

Many thanks to all who make this possible!

Reporting in that OTA upgrade to Monterey worked on 2012 iMac.

I did have to re-run OCLP to get it booting (fortunately I’ve got a dual boot setup)

I am using an untouched OCLP 0.3.0. For the Update from Beta 10 to the final releases I downloaded and used the Full Installer. Everything went without issues and very fast. For Wifi/Bluetooth I'm using a BCM94360CD.

For those running this on the 27” 2014 iMac with the 4K screen glitch, is it a deal-breaker. Does the screen look naff? Any pics?
iMac 27 5K Retina Late 2014 (iMac15,1) 24GB RAM - 1GB Fusion Drive - M290X 2GB -3.5GHz i5

MacOS just Monterey 12.0.1 successfully installed using OpenCore legacy patcher and instructions on p1 of this thread.

No issues identified yet except for the obvious one in the pic below lol

Usually use it and my secondary Dell 4K monitor in scaled mode.
Current using it with display scaled to 2560 *1440 (the 2nd largest txt size of the 4 choices)

Can't notice any difference with the display quality on Monterey from before I upgraded from Big Sur an hour ago.

Will report any issues in this thread.

Question for everyone, is there any chance of getting a future patch update that enables HD4000 acceleration without losing SIP and SBM?

Hate disabling core security just for a few features.

Updated from beta 10 to 12.0.1 today for my stock iMac10,1. It took around 2 hours and a few manual turn off & on towards the end of the process to get it booted up again. After applying the Post-Install Volume Patch, it seems fine except for the default mail app, which keeps crashing.

Hello everybody.
I have OTA installed Monterey to my 27" iMac 14.2 late 2013 under Big Sur 11.6.1 with OCLP 0.1.5. There are two problems, large and small.
Small: I can not turn off the SIP - in the recovery mode, the command in the terminal is executed, but after reboot the SIP is not disabled.
Large: No signal to external monitor (NEC PA301) via display port.
I would be grateful for your advice.
Please update OCLP to the latest version 0.3.1 and check the release notes and check the external display, again.

small: SIP with OC can only be changed by changing the OC config.plist
large: possibly your config.plist needs a agdpmod=vit9696 added, assume 0.3.1 has it already.

You have an iMac equipped with NVIDIA Kepler GPU, it needs to be (post install) patched, you cannot enable SIP an longer. Did you rerun OCLP after installation to run those patches (option #3 in the TUI)?

Thank you very much - with OCLP 0.3.1 now I have two monitors for works. But a small problem is still here because I'm not familiar with *.plist editing

You cannot enable SIP if you patch back the Kepler acceleration - so I assume you did not observe that your dock is not transparent any longer. You do not need to edit the plist, OCLP will take care of it!

Since your system has been detected by OCLP to need patches SIP has been disabled in advance. If you do not like disabling SIP you have to go back and install Big Sur.

Read my last post about applying the post install patches.

Check this post

Please get used to check the closed and open issues yourself and join Discord for trouble shooting and help. It is nearly impossible to move over every detail here manually.

And please add your complete hardware description to the signature. There are three different early 2011 models.

Yes, but I don’t know what selection is necessary prior to build oclp. Do I build I oclp, run patch and restart?

Hello everyone!

Today I tried the update to 12.0.1 Monterey. Everything worked out great except that my Thunderbolt display is not running.

I have an Nvidia GeForce GTX 780M 4GB in the computer.
With which patch can I get the display to work?

Did you ever check the online docs of OCLP? There is a step by step including a lot of nice pictures. Your K3100M and stock Atheros WiFi card lost support with Monterey and needs patching, now! This is different from Big Sur.

In short:
  1. download OCLP latest TUI offline version (including all patches, 500mb)
  2. start and choose #1 for build opencore
  3. choose #2 to install opencore on your internal disk
  4. reboot into prepared USB installer and install Monterey on top of existing Big Sur
  5. login and start OCLP app, again. Choose #3 post install patches (Kepler and WiFi)
  6. reboot
