We just received a great gift for non-Metal machines: latest OCLP 054n.
Installed it on the EFI of my external disk on MBP5,2 which already has 13.2 beta on it, and applied the new root patches. BTW KDK was loaded and installed fine during patching.
Now:
- internal keyboard and mouse are working
- graphics acceleration is there.
More testing tomorrow.
Thanks to OCLP and non-Metal wizzards!

What does “duet” mean in this context?

do you mean that you’re using opencore and OCLP together, or is there a special program that’s been written called “duet“???

If there is, in fact, a program called “duet “, could you please post a link to that program or explain more about it?
Duet is OpenCore Legacy (Duet UEFI firmware emulator)
When you build OC or Download Release you have Utility called LegacyBoot
Note: If you build yourself OpenCore you have tu built it if you want duet

I did a quick search but couldn't find a location for that folder, could you please give the path.

Thanks

Running Ventura 13.1 on my Late 2013 iMac and for the most part it is great.

However, I seem to get spells where Pages, Number and MS Word/Excel both crash regularly. This doesn't, however, happen consistently.

Has anyone else had regular app crashes since installing Ventura on an unsupported Mac from a similar era?

Could be. Not sure, build log for Penryn MBP5,2 says that RSRHelper is added.
Yet have to try it out.
MBP5,2: Updated from 13.2b1 to b2 OTA (11.3 GB), latest OCLP 054n. Running fine.
During post-install patching, "Installing RSRRepair userspace utility" was reported - it seems this works also for Penryn.
So far there was no RSR though.

Hello hvds,

Congratulation on getting your MacBooK Pro 5,2 running Ventura.

I can install Ventura on an internal partition (an SSD) of my MacBook Pro 5,2, and machine will boot, but without keyboard or track functionality. Wired mouse and keyboard also do not work, thought power is being transmitted through USB ports as "laser" light in the mouse is on. Resetting power management or "PRam" has no effect on track or keyboard functionality. Changing method of Ventura installation, i.e, from other partition or USB stick, also has no effect on the final outcome (no keyboard nor trackpad). To paraphrase "I can look, but not interact". Used latest OCLP 0.5.4n (dated 1.9.23). Everything works perfectly under Monterey; internal keyboard and trackpad, as well as, all the wired devices.
I reviewed your other posts, but wonder if you may have installed some additional software in the initial stages of your "experimentation" with Ventura(?)

Any insight would be appreciated.

Superb work by the developers and all testers.

Successfully updated to 13.2 b2 by full installer on main Mac mini L2012 internal disk. The famous RSR b2 does not appear to be done anymore, so I think it's included.

Hello RogueB,

keyboard and mouse need a hub between the USB port and themselves.
I used a hub "accidentally" all the time and have just verified (with the 13.1 installer on an external disk - not with the installed macOS) that the hub is needed and that keyboard or mouse are not recognised if plugged in directly.

There was a hint in the OCLP changelog of 7th January (add basic usb1.1 support...) and the link given in the log, and there was another hint earlier which I didn't find back.

After the root patches, internal keyboard and mouse work.

All the best!
