Well used latest opencore to try Ventura on MacBook 6,1 late 2009 using nightly build and none of the usb ports work at all with external keyboard or mouse both wired and infrared….and because the keyboard trackpad are not supported until patches are applied it’s impossible to install with out doing it on another machine and then carbon copying it over or target disk mode stuck at this screen anyone have any solutions…..and no external usb hub also did not work

Extra Info
Stuck at the intiatial installer screen for Ventura. It’s stuck at searching for keyboard and mouse because built in keyboard and trackpad are supported during install and external usb keyboard and mice not detected as well booting into installer from flash drive. At a loss until I proceed with install.

I don't know what point you're at but could you power off/restart and enter bootloader then use "time machine"? I'm sure you tried that already though.

I’m stuck at the initial install booting from the flash drive for the first time. Because it not detecting the keyboard and trackpad that are built in it’s looking for external keyboard and mice but there not being detected because of the usps not picking up with the installler using nightly of 0.5.4…..errrr I guess I could go rogue and do it either copying to external and just manually copying eveything over or I could just stick with Monterey for now haha

This https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/issues/1021 may help you get through (or over 😅) the keyboard issue.

Thanks pal and yeah I saw that post on GitHub that’s why I said maybe better to stay on monterey lol. im Gunna figure something out there’s gutta be a practical way of doing this. I think I’m gunna put in the extra work figure out a solution I’ll post if I find a way around I guess.

And I just want to take this oppertunity and thank so much the developers who have poured long hours into this. They literally have rallied and are burning the midnight oil getting this thing baked. I worked for apple back in 2008-2015. And the amount of thought and attention that has gone into these projects is incredible and it’s kinda awesome getting to watch the progress of these guys undoing everything Apple tried to do to prevent this type of stuff from happening. Tonight Ill raise a drink to the the the misfits, the crazyones because like Steve use to say the crazy ones are genius. Thanks for all the hard work guys!

- deleted --- double post -

Sorry for the double post Im not sure if I did something wrong or hit the wrong button I apologize

I have a usb hub that I thought was usb 2 but I’m starting to think it is not….question though I have an Apple Cinema Display the one right before the thunderbolt displays sitting in storage if I remember correctly those are usb 2 am I correct? And in theory it should work if I connect it to the mini display port and I think there was a separate usb cord and charger plug. I’ll have to go out and take a peak it’s been sitting for almost 8 years

Just wanted to mention an issue I came across.
Audio Hijack no longer outputs audio in Ventura(Monterey is fine) on my mbp 2010 6,1 machine.. My cMP's with Highjack all work fine in Ventura. Hope theres a fix because I use Hijack all the time. Maybe a permission issue?
Cheers!

I'm not familiar with this app, but just ran the trial version and it recorded audio from Finder with no issues on my MacBook7,1. Could you give more info on your particular workflow so I can reproduce it?
Sorry for the delay and thanks for checking.
I'm using a 17" 2010 6,1 mBP with no Metal card of course.
When I highjack the audio, the audio Mutes(Outputs no signal).. hmm.. This only happens on this machine.
It runs great on all my cMP machines even some without a metal card. I even wipped clean my 6,1 and started over but no good.
Cheers and thanks for the great work!

Note: Below is a simple example of Highjacking Audio from Firefox and outputing to the internal speakers of my Mac Pro

@khronokernel, first, thank you for fixing USB1,1 issue. I ask if is possible to let usb3 functionability on patched machine with USB1,1 solution. I have a USB3 A,C PCI card, and if it is installed I always get USB kernel panic. Thank you!
I had to go back to a slightly older ver of 0.5.4n.. Specifically the "Work-around Control Center" nightly update.
hehe

I have a MBP (Retina, 15-inch, Mid 2012, 10,1) using OpenCore Legacy Patcher 0.5.3 running Ventura 13.2 (a) beta macOS Security Response 22D7750270d.

Today, I have tried several times to apply the macOS Ventura Security Response Update (22D7750270e) (b).

The update begins downloading then I get a dialogue box "Failed to prepare the software update. Please try again."

I also tried starting in the safe mode with the same result.

Ain't that written for you?

Thanks @Tockman. I was able to install 22D7750270d when it came out using 0.5.3. I just saw "Rapid Security Response with legacy Macs #1019" just before you replied.

Is "KDKless installs result in WindowServer crashing after RSR installs
Resolved with OCLP 0.5.3, applicable for Macs with Intel Ivy bridge, Haswell or Nvidia Kepler GPUs" why I was able to install 22D7750270d?

I don't really understand the sys_patch: Implement RSR handling for root patched Macs but does that mean with 0.5.4, RSR will work with pre-Haswell?

Thanks. and thanks to @khronokernel

Since it has committed 2 hours ago, I guess, there's a reason to wait a little ;) Otherwise, there's a chance to lose normal boot of your Mac - the cases are described in this thread.

Hello, got issues with my MacBookPro8,1
oclp 0.5.3 and 0.5.4 nightly or git dist/build,issue for the root patch
All running well with Monterey, but the issues are on Ventura 13.1 for grafics root patches
I read that deleting the KDR and running the patch could solve the issue ( and i saw a screen that it seems running for others). But i don't know where they are, to be deleted ?

Code:
failed to build release collection

MBP5,2 still running Ventura 13.2b beautifully. It is now on internal SATA disk.

If it weren't for the charger circuit problem of unreliable running from battery, this machine would still be OK for production use while traveling (I have an MBP 16,1 for professional use now).

Yesterday had slow response of Safari 16.2 when typing into it - observed since Big Sur times. Seems gone meanwhile. No need to go to Firefox instead.
Photos also running fine.

THANKS to all developers!
Just read in the OCLP changelog that RSR (Rapid Security Response) now also supported for root-patched macs. Will try it at the next occasion.
That is really excellent support by the developers!

RSR now supported by which OCLP version?
