Just want to note, on the current issues post, you have a mistake stating that macs older than late 2013 do not support AVX 2, however the mid 2013 macbook air has a 4th gen haswell, and it does support avx 2

I had a similar problem but when I was creating the "boot disk". After downloading OCLP did you drag to the "Applications folder"? I would let your Macbook boot normally to the OS, format your USB (Or use another one), make sure OCLP is installed how I stated then follow the "create boot disk" instructions and re-download Ventura. Maybe something got corrupted during creation of the USB. Also, make sure your USB drive is good as well or simply try another.
Thanks for your help. Realised I had not put the OCLP into applications folder, so was fairly certain that was the problem. Started by simply moving it and re-doing the usbstick again, but no change. So removed everything and started all over, downloading it all again, but got the same result, ending up in Recovery Assistant after selecting 'EFI Boot' and 'Install Ventura'.
Anyway, life is to short for this cr*p, will maybe give it another go later on, thanks though👍

I have a problem with Live Text, when I had version 13.0.1 it worked perfectly but now that I have 13.1 it doesn't work for me (I have maOS Ventura with Opencore) do I have to activate it? or does it come by default
Same problem for me, anyone else ? It is activated in langage preferences.

My notebook is mba2012. I created the ventura13.1 installation USB disk under mojave and installed oclp-0.5.3 to it.
then reboot and hold option, select EFI to start the installation,it took about 10 minutes.
After the first auto restart, the installation continues,it took about 30 minutes.
After the second auto restart, The system reported an error,
I have installed it twice but failed to install it.

Have you ever installed Catalina on your device and therefore received the most recent firmware for your device?
I think that you need to do that before installing OCLP.

Running Ventura 13.1 on my Late 2013 iMac and for the most part it is great.

However, I seem to get spells where Pages, Number and MS Word/Excel both crash regularly. This doesn't, however, happen consistently.

Has anyone else had regular app crashes since installing Ventura on an unsupported Mac from a similar era?

This is the top part of the report:

yea it happens alot when you use command+v or the arrow keys within those apps. I posted a thread about it to try to gain some attention to it as it always goes ignored when people post it here in this thread. so far theres been no fix. ive also noticed when this starts to happen, YouTube videos no longer work either. rebooting fixes them temporarily. the fix could last a few hours or a few days. its completely random. the same user that replied to you also replied to me and told me to disable SIP but offered no explanation how that could be a fix. from my understanding, OCLP disables what it needs to in order to apply the patches, which ive done successfully. so I would think totally disabling SIP wouldn't be a proper fix unless someone explained why. here's a link to my thread with the similar crash report.

Have tried this a couple times before unsuccessfully but got it working today ! Some questions....

- When the machine reboots, I get the text "support.apple.com/mac/startup" with the 🚫 symbol. Looks like you just ignore it and it will end up booting properly. Is this normal ? I did re-run the patcher and turned off the "boot picker" option (I think that's what it's called).
- How do I wipe the machine clean ? I'm not sure if running recovery will erase or rewrite the boot record (EFI).
- What happens with OS updates, i.e. Ventura 13.1.1, 13.1.2, etc ?

Any one who has the problem about app crash when hit cmd+c/v or arrow keys, you can try partly disable feature unlock(airplay/sidecar) when build OCLP. And this will course you have lost the function of airplay/sidecar. This problem is not related about external keyboard. I have test on my macbookpro 10,1. After that ths macOS is very stable.
how do we process the change after selecting to partly disable? I made the change in the drop down menu, and rebuilt OCLP and reinstalled and rebooted. but on reboot, it was back to enabled.

Happened to me with current firmware 429.0.0.0.0 on MBP 9.1 and 10.2 (both 2012) installed. I just restarted and let the Installer continue. In the end it worked for both machines. The 10.2 reported this error twice.

On my 2009 5,5 that happens after I install a new OS. However, it only happens on the first restart after it boots fully to the OS. It happened when I installed Big Sur and with Monterrey. However, after the first restart it doesn't happen anymore...

First successful boot into Ventura 13.1 (external usb3.0 flash drive) on MBP4,1 with OCLP 0.5.4n. System was cloned from MBP9,1 (internal SSD).

MacBookPro trackpad or keyboard don’t respond (perhaps because root volume patch not applied yet), mouse plugged in external usb3.0 hub works, though.

May be helpful to others as well:

At first OCLP boot menu didn’t show the Ventura bootable drive icon (external usb3.0 flash drive on hub on ExpressCard adapter), but after hitting 'space' it showed up. Sometimes it also helps to unplug/re-plug the usb hub while in the EFI boot selection menu to get Volumes on a flash drive mounted.

I'm not familiar with this app, but just ran the trial version and it recorded audio from Finder with no issues on my MacBook7,1. Could you give more info on your particular workflow so I can reproduce it?
Just wanted to update on this issue with a Fix.
It did turn out to be a permission issue... Just like in Monterey in the begining, some apps need a permission fix.

Run the command below in Terminal:

sudo sqlite3 ~/Library/Application\ Support/com.apple.TCC/TCC.db "INSERT or REPLACE INTO access VALUES('kTCCServiceMicrophone','com.rogueamoeba.audiohijack',0,2,0,1,NULL,NULL,NULL,'UNUSED',NULL,0,1541440109);"

(This fix is for Audio Hijack ONLY!)

Here's a pic of the finished product below:

MacBook Pro 4,1 Ventura summary:

First successfully booted a "transplanted" patched version from MB5,1 (2008 13").
ExpressCard USB 3.0 was removed at that point, just to make sure and to not run into "prioritized" USB 3 usage through OCLP 0.5.4n

After that, confidently installed Ventura 13.2beta1 on internal SSD (atop of existing Monterey 12.6.1).
All well, internal trackpad and keyboard working after USB 1.1 patch to root drive.

Also working: Facetime camera, keyboard backlight, BT and Wifi. Great job, devs! A huge THX to all of the involved!

Note: Inserting USB 3.0 card after booting does not show card, but neither crashes system.
Will try booting with it next...

edit: no luck with inserted USB3 card, as expected - it crashes on boot despite I am quite sure I use the "prefer 3.0" OCLP nightly
Also sleep does not seem to work correctly, system wakes up, makes CD/DVD mechanical noises as usual but screen stays black (no backlight) and after short while, system freezes completely (no caps/lock LED toggle possible any more)

Is It possible that this happens due to max USB exisisting was 2.0 when MPB 4.1 released?

Other systems are affected as well (see cMP3,1 to 5,1).
Ventura originally lacks USB1.1 support and as the OCLP devs stated, having both USB3.x and USB1.1 (patched) running, it crashes the kernel. So atm 3.0 (when detected) is used instead of USB1.1.
So we'll have to wait and see if some degree of reverse-engineering of older stack versions may make parallel use possible.

Post Install Root Patches successfully installed (KDK got downloaded), unfortunately keyboard and trackpad of the MacBookPro4,1 still not responding. Gfx acceleration and Beta Blur setting are working fine, which is really nice.

That may explain why for me keyboard and trackpad of the MacBook Pro still don’t work after root patching.

EDIT
Mine is a 15-inch MBP4,1. Maybe there are some subtle differences between it and the 17-inch model?

Respectively
ModelA1260 (EMC 2198)
ModelA1261 (EMC 2199)

Some folks have reported here that the root patch had to be applied 2 times as after the first it did not work..?!?
As for the differences: Should work all the same, as even totally other machines with USB1.1 accept the patch for internal trackpad/keyboard.

btw...

Ventura on MB5,1 also running fine. Just found that the 2008 machine takes faster RAM than officially denoted: Instead of 1067MHz I stuffed 2x2GB with 1333MHz speed in it -> system info shows it correctly and geekbench shows a nice gain in performance, shifting my 2.4GHz C2D to the results of comparable 2.7-2.8GHz machines from 2009.

Single core 1067MHz: 300pts.
Single core 1333MHz: 338pts.
