This may be a little late, but it's worth paying attention to the warnings about pre-release versions of OCLP here.

Specifically:
  • Warning: These binaries should not be used ....
  • Users running new builds of the project without understanding what has changed are at higher of bricking their installation ...

It's best to apply OCLP patches to a separate, experimental volume and testing thoroughly before applying them to any production volumes.
Okay..Just on the github.io site they promise Native OTA updates. The oclp ventura install was applied by step step the guide what they provide on the site. The "native ota updates" text totally misleading imo.

Some issues on updating.
Speed Wifi very slow

Root patches not applied yet.

For beginners, don't install 13.3 beta

As explained OCLP, isn't for beginners

hi, my mac mini 2012 after installing macos 13.3 with oclp 6.1 already installed and after applying the post patch again won't restart anymore, in the sense that the progress bar reaches almost halfway and then doesn't go on, what could I Do? thanks, so far the updates were always successful.
Dear @wertico, I'm sorry.
Remember an old Italian proverb that says: "He who is the cause of his illness, cry for himself!..."
Are you perhaps a Developer and you have to test your Apps, so much so that you have to install the first macOS 13.3 Beta?…
And if you are not a Developer, for what dark reason or frenzy do you go beyond the limits of the Pillars of Hercules?… Are you Ulysses reincarnated?…
I wanted to tell you jokingly what is right NOT TO DO.
A friendly hug.

P.S.
Version 13.3 of Ventura changes many aspects of CPU management and graphics, especially with nVidia Kepler series cards. If you had checked on the Net before dedicating your time to playing with the new Beta 13.3 you would have understood it.

How do you guys were able to install the nightly version of 0.6.2? I went where it supposed to be located but there not installer available. There is also no step by step tutorial in how to do it. Do I need to install developer software?
You will need the full python machinery, the command line tools of xcode, and need to use terminal all the time.
Then the place to get hold of the OCLP 0.6.2 nightly is here: https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher
click the green button and select Download ZIP. Have a look at the unzipped folder.

Step by step can be very lengthy depending on how much needs to be installed first. The best way it seems to me is to look in the internet for how to install python (if still needed) and these command line tools. Then OCLP needs quite some extra python parts as shown in the requirements.txt file in the downloaded folder. They can be installed with pythons pip command.
Takes a while to familiarize yourself with all that, and makes sense only if you really want to learn this, like in my case.
Otherwise, better wait for the release of 0.6.2.

unfortunately you are right!

Thanks for sharing. Is that just your general opinion or does it relate to the post you're quoting? If the latter be the case, read the post once more ("warnings about pre-release versions")!

Decided to be brave and update my MBA mid-2012 to 13.3 Beta. It installed fine but when I rebooted and input my password to unlock my Air it acted strange. The bar progressed about 1/3 the way across and my mouse kept flashing in the upper left corner.

Rebooting verbose shows me hanging at the following:

couldn't alloc class applekeystoretest

I can boot in safe mode, but OCLP root patches don’t work in safe mode. Also in safe mode you are unable to mount the EFI partition to attempt any fixes and you cannot install post install root patches. Not sure how to proceed other than break out my Ventura installer USB and start over with a Time Machine backup.

MBP5,2 now on 13.2.1 on internal SSD.
Updated OTA from 13.2, full 11.55 GB size.
Using latest OCLP 0.6.2n from 10 Feb.
Before running the post-install patches (manually), ran the Build-Binary.command.

Looks good so far.
MBP5,2 (non-Metal) quite usable with 13.3 beta.

Aware of Amy's remarks** on Discord/Ventura-Info, installed it OTA over 13.2.1 on an external SSD. Using latest OCLP 0.6.2n from 10Feb (last commit: Merge pull request #1029 from dortania/oop-rework). Post-install patches from that OCLP. As usual, need to use external keyboard/mouse via USB hub prior to patches.
Writing from Firefox as Safari 16.4 (18615.1.21.11.5) sometimes shows blank pages but that's the only issue noticed so far.

Thanks to non-metal developers and OCLP team!

** regarding 13.3: "in addition to Ivy/Haswell (including dual GPU machines), Kepler is also broken at this time (i.e. all 3802 systems). ... Non-Metal and legacy WiFi patches require minor updates which are in progress. It is not known if/when 3802 GPUs will be fixed. As always, please only update to a beta version if you are prepared to have a broken system."

Any solution for this issue?View attachment 2161007
First, before posting, you really should read at least the recent posts, as this "issue", in several forms, has been discussed several times. You also need to inform the board as to the hardware you are using and the version of OCLP you used. Without that info, it is very hard to suggest a good fix. However, it looks like you haven't done the OCLP Post Install Root Patches, and have no graphics acceleration.

Hello,

I have an iMac 2011 with the latest Ventura version running, everything runs fins except the machine does not recognize my Cinema Display 27" (non thunderbold version). Is this a common issue and is there a fix?
I have an identical iMac which Monterey which works perfectly with this Cinema Display.

Thanks and regards,

MacBookPro11,3: confirmed that it won’t boot macOS Ventura 13.3 beta (from an external Thunderbolt SSD); and thus remains stuck at 1/3 of the progress bar, with the keyboard lighting on, exactly as if it booted without the root patches installed (but the Intel Haswell and the Nvidia Kepler root patches have been correctly installed, indeed) - not good, at all…

Edit: Tried with 0.6.2n, but same result, sadly: evidently, something (but what?) prevents the OCLP root patches from working with 13.3…

Also MBP11,1 now on 13.2.1, on external SSD.
Installed from USB installer.
Using latest OCLP 0.6.2n from 10 Feb.
Before doing the post-install patches, ran the Build-Binary.command.

Edit: forgot to mention that before post-install patches are applied, the screen resolution isn‘t correct, so characters etc are small but still readable. That is during installation and in booted Ventura prior to post-install patches.
Sorry, how can I do this "Before doing the post-install patches, ran the Build-Binary.command.
iMac 14.1. Ventura 13.3 installed without problem, after applying the post-install patches, blocked during the start-up.
OCLP 0.6.2n

I see that some are recommending a custom build of OCLP. Just out of curiosity, what is the perceived advantage of your own custom-building of OCLP vs. downloading the [DEV] version from here? Are you building a version that is not necessarily the latest commit?

OCLP 0.6.2n works well with OS 13.3 beta from what I have seen so far. I just updated my i5 13-inch Pro as well as my 11-inch i7 Air to 13.3 without issues :)
