I've installed OCLP maybe 30 times on a few machines now and ran into an issue.

MacBook Pro early 2011 with C2D currently OCLP patched and on OS12 and wanting to go to 13. The OCLP is 0.6.1 , the OS is 13.2.1 , I am making the USB as ive done 29 times before or so. I am trying to install and on trying to get o the install screen I am greeted with a mouse illustration and keyboard. I have tried another USB stick , redownload of both OS13 and OCLP but the issue still remains. I have plugged in a USB keyboard and mouse and still no joy. I wonder if this is an issue with me/software/MacBook. The mouse and keyboard works fine in OS12 , just can't get it to work on installation boot.

The keyboard and mouse are not apple , some crappy unknown ebay LED flashing things from a kids junk windows PC.

Well, as documented on the OCLP pages on github, you might find that (for the first time) during installation you need an external USB 2.0 hub that you have to plug kbd/mouse into.

Seen this on older MacBooks too. Solved in my case with an older Apple keyboard. Generic keyboards would not work.

OCLP 0.6.2n works well with OS 13.3 beta from what I have seen so far. I just updated my i5 13-inch Pro to 13.3 tonight :)

Even my 11-inch Air was updated to OS 13.3 using OCLP 0.6.2n tonight with no issues throughout the installation. Everything is running stable so far.
same here, OCLP 0.62n no issues updating 13.3 with my 2015 13"MBP, holding off 2012 MBP for now.

Being new to OCLP, I was wondering if there was a preferred way when making a backup of the volume being used for Ventura. I'm still on 13.2 and don't want to update until I know I have a proper backup. In my case, Ventura is on an external SSD. I've used CCC for years but not sure if Time Machine is better or not in this situation. Any advice would be appreciated.

@Larsvonhier and @houser
I experienced a USB keyboard problem when using a very cheap PC keyboard. My Mac would not boot when the keyboard was connected. Enabling -v boot-arg (verbose boot) in OpenCore config.plist revealed "IOHIDDevice USB error" that was preventing boot. In my case, switching to another keyboard fixed the problem. This same USB keyboard caused boot problems for me with an HP workstation, so I discarded the keyboard.

This is the only keyboard that I've ever had problems with. It is possible for the USB keyboard to cause issues, but in general, PC keyboards work fine.

Timemachine did not work for me, I want to roll back to 13.2.1, can't because Timemachinbe on my NAS can't be used, why I don't know, must be a bug.

Well, sure, if you plug in defective stuff it's no wonder machine might refuse to accept it or other (good) devices on the same USB line. That was not what was meant by PC keyboard not working, I´d guess. ;-)

13.3b1 successfully running (patched with OCLP 0.6.2n) on cMP5.1 with
- Radeon R9 280X (metal 1)
- BRCM 94360 on internal USB 1.1 hub (BT) and Wifi (PCIe)
- USB 3.0 PCIe card
- Thunderbolt Titan Ridge

All systems go!
Hello,
When you say Thunderbolt Titan Ridge is working on your cMP5,1, did you have to modify the config.plist in the OCLP 0.6.2n, and add your working SSDT aml inside the ACPI folder of the EFI? Also, what TB peripherals are working/tested in your Titan Ridge setup? Thanks.

The cheap keyboard worked on other PCs, just not my Mac and not my HP workstation. My point was that @houser 's keyboard observation wasn't as speculative as you made it out to be. We're all on the same team here, right?

Are there any technical reason why Ventura cannot run on some older Mac (think of iMac 27", end 2015), even with 24 GB RAM… But much more annoying, Apple is not proposing any new 27" Mac (except for outrageously expensive Studio), so we are probably stuck for at least 1 year without any way to upgrade if we want to keep all in one form factor and 27" at least.

Sorry, how can I do this "Before doing the post-install patches, ran the Build-Binary.command.
iMac 14.1. Ventura 13.3 installed without problem, after applying the post-install patches, blocked during the start-up.
OCLP 0.6.2n
If you were able to run the post install patches, I don't think you need the Build-Binary command. In my case, the patcher missed the Patcher Support Package so post-install could not proceed, and the Build-Binary loads that in a first step.
For completeness, the command is found in the downloaded OCLP directory.

I guess your machine won't start-up correctly as the GPU (a Haswell? I don't know much about your iMac 14,1) needs other patching than presently available in OCLP, for 13.3.

In order to "Roll back to 13.2.1", use CCC to make a data only copy of your internal SSD to an external SSD connected via USB 3.0 or even better yet Thunderbolt, and also make a 13.2.1 USB install memory stick. Boot up from the USB memory, wipe the internal SSD with the Disk Utility app and then instaall 13.2.1. At the end of that process you can use that CCC backup on the external SSD connected by USB 3, to migrate you data, and you will be "rolled". Depending on your hardware you may need a USB 2 hub to get a wired mouse and keyboard working. On my iMac 15,1 the wireless keyboard and one of several wireless mice usually work well enough until you can run the post install patches with OCLP 0.6.2n (it's rather fickle as to which mouse it likes that particular day). In my experience, CCC is much better than Time Machine for this.

Sometimes after doing a Time Machine back up with open core in the initial migration assistant or afterwards, you need to reset the nvram after the time machine restarts your device. then the Time Machine back up will finish properly. If not, it will get stuck during loading after restarting.

That is how I made the Time Machine work using opencore and oclp on my ivy bridge (2012) hackintosh. After the Time Machine nearly completes and restarts your computer, then try resetting the nvram. On mine, then it finishes the migration.

Is it really possible to install Ventura to a real legacy mac such as iMac 9.1 ATI 4850 with OCLP 0.6.2n?

No need for CCC. Disk Utility does the same and works fine with OCLP.

Hello, on a Imac 9.1 NVIDIA GeForce 9400 24" i install Monterey (clean install) without problem. The result is wonderful : speed , multiscreen, remote control, everything work correctly. I lost the brightness control, so I use a utility to control the screen. I don't test Ventura because when I do it OCPL 6 don't exist.

OCPL 0.6.x does also work and exist for Ventura usage...

Hello, can you confirm that you don't have a freeze when the Mac comes back after a screen saver?
