Before trying updated make sure you have Latest OC 0.8.3 , Latest Lilu and WEG
Also before trying update Set Misc/Security/SecureBootModel/Default
Fist Update 1.44 g failled
Retry

Then when the 11G update set to Misc/Security/SecureBootModel/Disabled
before macOS reboot
As I said, it´s a supported Macbook Pro. I made it clear.

Hello @chris1111 good friend, we've known each other for a long time.
Everything is fine on the Hacki (see my signature).

It's about my iMac mid 2020 (27 inch) because the update from beta2 to beta3 doesn't work,
just like it does with @******* with his orig. MacBook Pro not working.

I was assuming you know something about why this isn't working.

Thanks for the info if you know about it.

Thank you my good friend @chris1111.

It's not a problem, I just thought that you would also work with other orig. Mac like iMac etc.
I'll wait for the full installer for Beta3 and see what happens there.

Greetings to you and the olarila forum and stay safe and sound.

I wonder why. I'm running beta 2 on my 2017 27" iMac

Well, what at last did is clone again my Monterey internal To the thunderbolt drive. Booted from it and then the Beta 3 installed al first. Couldn´t installed it from Beta 2.

Update from Ventura on beta 2 to beta 3 using OTA 1.44gb went along without a problem for me on mid 2014 MacBook Pro . (Note : as recommended by others here don’t install unless you know what your doing or happy to brick your device )

I don't see the danger of blocking my iMac. I mean, I've had years of experience with iMac and Hackintosh.

I had successfully installed Ventura Beta1 on my Apple SSD back then, then upgraded to Beta 2
with no problems whatsoever.

Now I'm surprised that the update from Beta2 to Beta3 doesn't work with the supported iMac mid 2020.

But as already written, I'm waiting for the full installer of Beta3 and then we'll see.

Thanks for the tips from all of you.

So bottom line, In my own personal experience thus far, Ventura will install on unsupported macs via OLCP, but most if not everything is broken. The Dock is broken some icons are broken, graphics acceleration is non-existent, so resolution will not match screen, Display will be listed as Unknown and it will only have like 2-4mb of video memory. External Monitors do not work either. It'll run, but barely. Just wait for the people who know what they're doing. Again this is entirely my own personal experience with installing macOS 13 Ventura so far. (late 2013 21.5" iMac) **Edit

Don´t count on it. Probably you will se a lot more "crycry" posts.

While it is encouraging that you dis-encourage ppl here (keeping the thread slim and free from "help!" cries), your perceived bottom line is not entirely correct. I've installed Ventura on a bunch of different machines and can say that mileage varies: On some machines many basic features do not work (oob) as in your case, but on others, you already have everything from USB, keyboard, trackpad/gestures, Wifi, even basic frame buffer (256MB or 512MB on Nvidia GTs)).
The real showstopper (for most of us) is missing GPU acceleration. So yes, wait for the folks who know how to tackle this, step by step. :)

I tried this directly but it didn't work of course :)

For fun, I installed it on a MacBook Pro 2016 (A1707). Skylake is in it and support for it is over. It is very similar to 2017 and installation is easy. Masquerading as 14.3. The discrete graphics card works. The signature "kext not loaded" for HD 530 and as a result - the screen brightness is not adjusted and it will not be able to get out of sleep. On some site (the link to which I will not post) they say that with the help of WEG they disguise Skylake as Kabylake. I didn't believe it, but I checked it and it doesn't work. WEG has been adapted to fix decoders, but he is not able to replace Skylake, and trying to load him with Kabylake’s kext will simply lead to a kernel panic. Don't get upset in advance. A few years ago, they could not decide for a long time to install Big Sur on Ivy Bridge and Haswell. Although, this system is very insidious and circumventing the restrictions will be much more difficult.
