Not sure if this was reported, but on 13.4, none of the video players (VLC, Elmedia, mplayer, etc.) can successfully play any video (mkv, mp4). I even tried reverting the OCLP post patch thinking it may be related to my HD4000 acceleration, but that did not work either. I suspect this is inherently with 13.4 beta (22F5027f).

hi @ASentientBot,

I updated macOS to 13.3.1 and got the same issue.
Also, rebuilt dyld shared cache and nothing(.

In attach you can find log from Console.app on run app1 in test.

If you need some additional information, please tell me.

Thank you!
Thanks! I mostly understand the problem, added a "fix" to dsce last night, but it has the slight downside of generating 2 GB binaries 🤦🏻‍♀️

I am unsure if/when we'll have a better fix. Information is permanently lost when the cache is built.

The Ivy/Haswell/Kepler patch set might also evolve to require fewer downgrades, bypassing this problem.

Sorry I can't give you a more definitive answer. Downgrading to 13.2.1 is recommended if you need to use lldb.

iMac 2011 with updated Kepler GPU (K610M) - issue here on Ventura 13.3 using OCLP 0.6.2. After applying root patches and rebooting the machine the login screen freezes, I cannot use my mouse or keyboard and enter my password. After 2-3 seconds the screen will go black but will come back on after a few more seconds, resulting in an infinite loop. I cannot get into macOS. Tried reinstalling 13.3 and using the latest OCLP 0.6.3 build but no success yet.

Just updated from 13.3 to 13.3.1.
I had to download all 12GB of it plus the 600mb of the AutoPkg-Assets in order to apply the patches.

I suppose that's the way to do it from now on. There is no way to just download the update, correct? (by reverting the patches before searching for the update).
revert to patch-root, update incremental (2GB-4GB), apply patch-root.
Nice.

Many thanks to the developers of OCLP 0.5.0.
The postinstall brought back the IntelHD kext's for Ventura on my Lenovo T450s.
I have also created new EFI for my MacPro3,1 with 0.5.0.
Ventura full installer 13 DP9 no problems, Ventura is running.

View attachment 2087054

I have only one problem, BT is broken under Ventura with my BCM94360CD. With Monterey, same EFI, BT works without problems.
What's new under Ventura with the ...CD for WLAN/BT?
hi,Could you offer the EFI file
I want try it too
thanks

MBP5,2: experience with 13.3.1 and 13.4b

Tried two versions of OCLP 0.6.3n, one downloaded on 29 March, one on 7 April (the latest one), with these two macOSs. Also used PatcherSupportPkg 0.9.1 and 0.9.2 with 29Mar, and 0.9.2 and 0.9.3 with 7Apr.

13.4b (on external SSD):
- all combinations fine, just Safari not OK with PSP 0.9.1.

13.3.1 (internal SSD):
- fails after root patch with 7Apr, for both 0.9.2 and 0.9.3: left part of menu bar missing, most apps won't start incl Finder
- works with 29Mar both PSPs, just Safari not OK with PSP 0.9.1 (but see below).

So avoid latest 0.6.3n with 13.3.1 on this non-metal MBP. Which is fine, it is nightlies after all! I was just curious.
The may be hidden parameters leading to this result.

EDIT: after more installations of 13.3.1 to internal SSD from USB installer, also OCLP 063n from 29Mar doesnt work: left part of menu bar missing, apps not starting. Did NVRAM and SMC resets before.
Went back to 062 release, all fine, but need to use Firefox (safari blank page if in the foreground, as expected).

EDIT2: moved forward from 13.3.1 to 13.4b (rather than back to 13.2.1). Installed it OTA on internal SSD.
Then tried the root patch from OCLP0.6.2 release: works (except Safari)
Then patched over it from latest 0.6.3n (PSP 0.9.3): works, including Safari.

Enough Easter patching for now. It seems there is an incompatibility beterrn 13.3.1 and the newer 0.6.3.ns, telling from some of the posts and my own.

BTW the MBP5,2 is only a testing machine now. All was well on my (supported) production MBP 16,1.

Sorry if I have bored you with this longish exercise...
Regarding the menubar, there is a new setting in the latest OCLP 0.6.3n:

I should have read the changelog more carefully... always necessary when using nightlies, my fault!

@ASentientBot thank you for your help,

but I didn't find any instructions on how to use dsce.
Can you provide a link or what parameters do I need to use?

Update:
I used Run.tool, but get error:
Code:
function main, file Main.mm, line 74.

I'm getting the same error on running binary with parameters from Run.tool script

After installing 13.3 (0.6.2) and then updating to 13.3.1 (0.6.3n), video players do not work when trying to play .mkv. Apps crash with an error. Today, the icons from the system settings also disappeared (when reinstalling 0.6.3n, the icons were not restored (((
Does anyone know: How can I downgrade Ventura to 13.2.1 if I originally installed 13.3?

So it looks like there's no fix for this issue on a 2012 iMac other than downgrading OS. Pretty surprised no one else has experienced this problem worldwide.

The only way to downgrade is a clean install AFAIK

A suggestion in a nutshell:

Perform a backup. Ideally using Time Machine. Make sure the backup is complete and working.
Prepare a USB Stick with 13.2.1 installed (or whatever your preferred release might be). Reboot using USB.

Create a second partition/APFS container on your internal SSD/HDD and install the desired MacOS onto it.
Migrate user. (in my case that worked without any issues in several cases: downgrading from 13.3 to 13.2.1, as well as with a user created once in Mojave and migrated into El Capitan)

Reboot, press alt and select preferred system you want to boot from.
Patch system. Reboot.

As long as you keep opencore installed on one of the volumes, you should be fine booting up whatsoever.
Keep one SSD partition as a "good known" system, it will be the main one you are going to work with.
Use the second volume to test everything beta related until you are certain you want to update for good.

This works for me and seems to be the easiest way to fall back on a previous good known working system in case something goes south. Something usually does when testing a beta version. You can also partition that USB stick and have multiple versions at hand if necessary. 14-15GB per partition seems to be the minimum size.

Got 13.3.1 up and running with 0.6.3n running on my MacBookPro8,1 (Early 2011) without too much fuss, a little laggy but nothing awful.

I was trying to get it running on my 2012 mini, but for the life of me I cannot get it to boot with the Option key to choose the USB. I think something is up with the keyboard I am using (Corsair K70 RGB) as I can't get the mini to honor any special keys for booting (Recovery, PRAM, etc). Tried the keyboard in my Thunderbolt Display, in the mini, in a USB hub, no change. I am away from home all of this month, so getting another wired keyboard from my "pile" is not an option, so I guess Amazon it is.

Just finished updating my MacBook Pro 8,3 (17" - Early 2011) to Ventura 13.3.1 and OCLP 0.6.3. No new issues as far as I can see. Camera still no working; however, FaceTime is now displaying some information instead of a black windows. Final Cut Pro also still does not run at all.

Out of curiosity: Assuming that iMac runs the latest firmware update (https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201518), does the same issue appear when booting into safe mode? What's the GPU listed as under systemreport/graphics?
Thanks for the response. The GPU is NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M 512 MB. I haven't tried safe mode because the issue only shows up randomly. It also triggers when using different apps. Some day it's Safari, the next day it's Chrome, then Photoshop and so forth. Really odd. It then requires a restart (if I can even manage that) for everything to return to normal. On Monterey and Big Sur this never happened so it must be Ventura specific.

There is a way I use that works but its very dangerous!!!
If you have cloned/backed up your files, Open disk utility in Recovery mode and erase the (system) Volume ONLY!!!!!!!
Do not erase the Data volume!!!.
Then reinstall 13.2.1

Note: This can be very tricky since you will get mutiple dialog promps asking what to do.. READ carefully!!!!

Hello to All

At first thank you to the OCLP developers; move yesterday to Ventura using OCLP 0.6.2.

Little issues; no problem because I'am not sure if this OCLP or Ventura.

One thing has for sure to do with OCLP; XCode debugger crashes. The issue is I can't debug any app with Xcode and the debugger LLDB, or have something printed in the console. The print code doesn't get executed.

Hello, same issue here (I saw your reaction ;))

The temporary workaround I've found is to disable "Debug executable" in your Run scheme, so that you will be able to see your console with all its prints (but you still won't be able to debug any breakpoints...).

Let's hope the issue will be solved quickly by the OCLP team, who has done an incredible work!

A dear joyful greeting to all.
The official version 0.6.3 of OCLP was released today.
So I kindly ask who has iMac14,2 (iMac14,2 = late 2013, 27-inch, CPU i7 and GeForce GTX780M but even CPU i5 and GT755M or GT775M) if with OCLP 0.6.3 and Ventura 13.3.1:
1) Does PowerPoint work properly and do images now display correctly in thumbnails and slides? And does the presentation work too?
2) The Preview app always works fine and also with .HEIC photos?
3) AppleTV+ app works with Series?
4) Is there still something important that doesn't work? And if so what?
Are accepted also fast answers, e.g.:
1: works fine or not works or crashes
2: works fine or not works or crashes
3: works fine or not works
4: The Xxxxx app doesn't works, Te Yyyyy app crashes, The Zzzzz app hangs, etc.
Thanks
I use my unsupported 2013 iMac, with OCLP, for my professional job and I worked fine from Big Sur to Ventura 13.2.1 with no issues; but recently, installing Ventura 13.3 with OCLP 0.6.3 Night, various graphical problems appeared and I necessarily downgraded to Ventura 13.2.1 So can I finally install Ventura 13.3.1 now?
Thanks with all my heart

On MacBook Pro 13 Mid 2012 (MacBookPro9,2) version 13.3.1 works great!
The only point is that on the stable release 0.6.3 there were no icons in the system settings. I compiled it from the source code and used it and there was no problem anymore.

MacbookPro 11.3 Ventura13.3.1
I updated OCPL to 0.6.3
All also do not work programs that use metal(Nvidia).(Photoshop, VMware Fusion, Parallels)
Although the Changelog says it's fixed.
