MBP 11,5 w/ OCLP 0.6.5

Everything seems to be working perfectly as far as I can tell. :)

EDIT: I'm now on OCLP 0.6.6 :apple: The GUI in 0.6.6 is different but much improved. The Dev team did a fantastic job with the new installer, thanks!!

MacBook Pro 9,1 (MBP mid-2012 non-retina) Update to 13.4 from 13.3.1. Update performed from applications folder via downloaded installer using Opencore 0.67. Installation smooth . Currently, all primary apps function properly: all MS Office 2021, Acrobat Pro 2023.001.x, Photoshop 22.2.4 and Parallels Desktop (win11) 18.1.1 (53328, Safari functionality, Mail app, Airdrop and iPhone as webcam. Thank you Devs; Amazing Opencore to prolong older Macs longevity. Apps take a little longer to boot (apron 2"-3"more) but very acceptable; Once in apps all good.

Still Unable to login into Safe Mode (Has been the case since 13.3. Did a NVRAM and SMC reset and tried Safe Mode via Recovery; Impossible safe mode login. Safe Boot hangs @ 50% progress bar. All else good in normal boot mode. Any ideas? Thanks.

MBP5,2:
External SSD updated OTA from 13.4 to 13.5 beta. Using OCLP 0.6.6n from 230520.
Internal SSD: installed 13.4 from USB installer. Same OCLP.
All smooth, just after internal SSD installation had to unplug/plug back in the USB Hub to have external mouse/keyboard responsive.
Hello! Adobe Acrobat crash in your MBP 5,2? And your sleep mode works right? In my case it seems to me that it doesn't exactly go into sleep mode. Thanks

When you typed that "download link for OCLP 0.6.6 beta", you could have used the search function for this thread and it would have shown this:

The latest OCLP.0.6.6n nightly has just been updated, dated 5-20-2023 7:31 am.
Edit: new nightly dated 5-20-2023 13:37 pm available
Verified working on an iMac 15,1 late 2014 27". Post install root patches work too.
thanks for the answer I downloaded 13.4 & installed over 13.3.1 everything works fine but it is relatively slower than before in & sometimes the mouse moves slow 😒 I don't know why..

Check the System Settings - mouse, to see if the tracking speed is set correctly. Just changing from 13.3.31 to 13.4 shouldn't affect that.
Are you sure you did the Post Install Root Patches in OCLP after upgrading the system to 13.4?
That, the lack of root patches, would cause a general slowness. You can start up OCLP and try the post Install root patches again, even if you already did it. Just guessing, but after installing the system via the USB installer, did you start up OCLP (copied to the Library/Application Support/Dortania folder) and install OCLP to the internal SSD (HDD) and then do the root patches? That way, you don't need to use the USB all the time.
The nightly version has been updated recently, might want to get the latest version too as the devs are constantly improving it. Edit: OCLP 0.6.6n Updated at 10:15 am, 5-22-2023.

Hi all,

I'm trying to create an installer with OCLP 0.6.6n but it failes everytime. Sometimes the MB start counting, sometimes it just says 'nan MB'. Does anyone have experience with this? I've also tried OCLP 0.6.5 with the same result.

I tried the installer downloaded from Mr Macintosh, I tried with the installer downloaded within OCLP.
I tried another thumb drive and that seemed to work but at about 95% of building, it stopped again, showing 'nan MB'.

Both thumb drives I tried are SanDisk Cruzer Glide USB 2.0 64GB. Maybe it has to do with these?
Or has anyone else seen this problem before?

Thanks,

Frederik

Yes, same here - but the workaround is to just let it work in background...
After a long time it finishes (the info popup does not say so, but you can see progress if you turn on "show hidden files" after opening install drive volume). Let it settle (watch for used/free memory) until nothing changes here any more...

I did this yesterday and it produced a fully functioning installer stick this way.

I have never used 64GB thumb drives, seems a waste as 16GB drives are enough.
Trying a different brand may be best.
When using OCLP to make the install USB, it can take a very long time, just let it run.
What is that 'nan MB' you mentioned? Never seen that before. What language is your system set up for? Could "nan" mean a number in that language?

No, it is really a bug in 0.6.6n.
As said, let it run despite frozen nan MB output (in computing it means not-a-number, often output when i.e. value not initialized or division by zero "result").

Thanks for your answer. Ok, I'll try that. I kept an eye on activity monitor but thought it just got stuck again when the fans started slowing down. Thanks for explaining nan too 👍.

Great community!

I downloaded the OCLP 0.6.6 and installed open core & root patch but I will try the updated version you mentioned but excuse me if I clicked the link you provided to me before I will get the updated version 0.6..6n or there is a link for it because I can't find it on github so it will be kind of you to provide me with link of the newly updated version 🙏🏻

MacBook Pro 7,2 OTA update to 13.4 fails because the computer doesn't seem to restart after applying the update. Any idea or should I install 13.4 through OCLP 0.6.5?

The link (see post #5781, https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/blob/main/SOURCE.md) has a blue link to the GUI. That is always the latest version. No need to go searching around. As far as I know, the latest version is dated 10:58 am, May 22. (Edited)
Have you copied the app to the target disk (Library/Application Support/Dortania is the normal location, although you could keep an alias to that in the application folder.
