13.4 + 0.6.6 works not bad. The only pity is that Pages still can't import images (…and .pdf).

Hi @dhinakg do I have to uncheck this two option to make a better test?

No, OCLP will automatically turn it off if you are eligible to use AMFIPass.

Strange. I, too, have a hack. When I select my SMBIOS model on the Settings screen (don't leave as "Host Model")

The button is no longer gray for me

Yes, because you are now building an EFI for another machine, not the host. AMFI cannot be enabled for that target model (if there are root patches required) for backwards compatibility issues: the patcher doesn't know if your other machine has old root patches. Enabling AMFI with old root patches will break boot.

Going with the readme first point on the beta test
•You must be building OpenCore on the host (so you cannot be building the EFI for another device)
So it may be disabled when picking yourself on purpose for the test being in beta creating to many issues or at least that’s how I read it as OCLP will automatically pick for you.
There is no special behavior with the button being disabled, this has been standard for months. You cannot build an EFI for a natively supported host without enabling the appropriate setting to do so. Nor can you build an EFI for the host on a hackintosh, because we don't support hackintoshes.

Just out of curiosity, I made some new SIP tests, on my MBP11,3, with the new OCLP 0.6.7b AMFIPass system:

- unticking “allow untrusted kexts” (so SIP=0x802) allows for booting, but “disables” the root patches, so you boot to an unaccelerated screen (everything is small);

- unticking “allow unrestricted fs” (so SIP=0x801) allows for a normal boot, with the root patches enabled, but Gatekeeper immediately begins examining a lot of apps and some of them won’t open automatically (must be launched by right-clicking and “open”), and after some time the screen goes black (window server problem?);

- unticking both (so SIP=0x800), perfectly possible without problems in Monterey, will of course still have both those above problems in Ventura.

So, as also said in the beta release notes, don’t change the SIP settings and leave them “as is” (with SIP=0x803 as default): once AMFIPass is stable, hopefully our genius devs will find new ways to get a more secure SIP implementation also in macOS Ventura, and even beyond (macOS 14)… :cool::)

What is the roadmap?

As this is a major change, we want to ensure that there are no issues with AMFIPass or OCLP's handling of it. Thus, I am looking for extensive testing across as many (supported) hardware configurations and macOS versions as possible.

After all the issues have been worked out, we will merge this code into mainline OCLP. There is no ETA on when this will happen.

After merging into mainline OCLP, research will be conducted to see if it possible to enable more bits of SIP or even fully reenable SIP on OCLP machines. This is a long-term goal and there is no ETA on when this will happen or if this is even possible at all.

Are there any important notes?

This current build does not affect SIP requirements. If SIP was disabled with previous OCLP releases, it will still need to be disabled on this test build.

Although care was taken to ensure a safe approach to enabling AMFI, there is still a chance that this could break your install. Please ensure that you have a backup of your data and are prepared to reinstall macOS if necessary.

Today’s Compressor 4.6.4 update for some reason thinks it’s running in a VM (never happened before; while the other pro video apps updates from the Mac App Store work without problems, as usual); and this unusual error message now appears, after launching it:

great work indeed, running Ventura 13.4 on a MBP 11,4 with OCLP v0.6.7b with AMFIPass...
no big problems detected.

Apple TV is starting and works with things I already have seen but new series won't work ! (for me no problem)

again DEV thanks so much for a amazing job !

Have you tried the AMFIPass beta?

Same for me. iMac17,1, Ventura 13.2.1, after building new EFI with AMFIPass b2, reboot, Root Patching, following error… any ideas? Anyway, thanks a lot to the devs. Phantastic work.

In some hack's the smbios is displayed correctly. In others is the name of motherboard or OEM name.
In my Probook 4540s, Ventura 13.5, patch rooted, AMFI and Library Validation are enabled! Thanx a lot, dev's! I'll report about other 3 legacy MBP and a few legacy hack's.
Update:
All Ventura 13,5, all AMFI enabled

MacBook Pro

MacBookPro9,1 -> OK
MacBookPro8,2 -> OK
MacBookPro4,1 -> OK

Hack's

Desktop -> Asus P5q, Macmini4,1, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q9300 @ 2.50GHz, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 780 Ti 3 GB -> AMFI enabled, Library Validation disabled
Desktop -> HP xw4600 Workstation, iMac10,1, Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Extreme CPU X9650 @ 3.00GHz, AMD Radeon HD 7750 1 GB -> AMFI enabled, Library Validation disabled
Laptop -> Asus R301L, MacBookAir6,2, i3 4005U, HD 4400 -> AMFI enabled, Library Validation enabled

Just installed the latest and...GREATEST....0.6.7 AMFIPass update.
Seems to work well, booting is slower, but that seems to be it, Parallels runs.

Typing in this box seems to be slow with hanging texts, see if this improves after a restart.

Big shoutout to the D(s).👏

13.2.1 doesˋt need Amfipass.
Ahh, ok… so how can I revert now? Even with OCLP 0.6.3 I am not able to root patch my system successfully again. first I built new EFI with 0.6.3, rebooted, tried to root patch with 0.6.3, but same error?

edit:

Updated to 13.4. Now AMFIpass is working as expected. AppleTV+ new content also NOT working. Import PDFs oder JPGs to Pages (dragging) works well here…

New issue: Starting Continuity Camera in FaceTime freezes MacOS completely? May be not AMFI related. Anyone else?

iMAC 13,2 Ventura 13.5 beta1 and OCLP 0.6.7n AMFI-pass

Installed OCLP 0.6.7n (AMFI-pass) on Ventura partition. I checked the build for the first install under "settings -> security", and "disable AMFI" was checked (i.e., AMFI was inactivated, as expected for 1st install). Rebooted to Ventura and installed "root patches" (as instructed). Rebooted again to Ventura and reinstalled OCLP AMFI-pass second time; when I checked the second OCLP install, under "settings-> security", "disable AMFI" was unchecked (i.e, AMFI enabled). Rebooted onto desktop without issues. However, Apple TV still fails to play new content, and Pages crash when PDF is drugged into the document. Not sure if this is relevant to the 13.5 beta1, but I noted that other posters have reported problems with Apple TV and Pages after installing OCLP AMFI-pass on Ventura 13.4 OS (see posts 5852 and 5853)

Notwithstanding, impressive work by all the developers.

Hope this report may be of help

Apple TV+ and Pages crashing with image imports was known issue before AMFIPass.

That is correct, however, other posts seem to imply that the newest OCLP Amfi-pass and patches restored those functions, (among others) on their systems. It may have been coincidental. On the iMac 13,2 both issues are peculiar to Ventura.

Edit: My previous post was indeed ambiguous; I corrected the syntax to reflect that OCLP AMFI-pass did not fix an already existing problems with Apple TV and Pages. There was no intent to state that OCLP AMFI-pass casued any problems. Thanks for noting the issue.

Dont worry I can recupering the OS's with my USB with amfi enable without AMFIPass.kext

at worst I will simply reinstall this MacBook I hardly use it, just to test the macOS that Apple no longer wants you to install

I will make more test

Thanks anyway for the great work! on my HP Probook 650 G1 i use the kext AMFIPass.kext without flag AMFi its work, no issue booting but I am not test somes App for now

The 13.5 update is currently on the MacBook, will see

Thank you for explaining. I understand completely and don't blame OCLP developers for not supporting hackintoshes.

I successfully used OCLP 0.6.7Beta2 to generate a new OC EFI (with AMFI and Library Validation both enabled) for my HackBookPro6,2. I then used OCLP 0.6.7Beta2 to apply post-install patches (after changing Host Model to MacBookPro6,2). My hackintosh works so well that it now believes it's a real Mac and insists on being called a dMBP6,2 ("d" for Dell). My Hackinstein has achieved consciousness. It's alive! :). Thank you OCLP developers!!!

About this dMBP6,2
Screenshot 2023-05-23 at 7.01.57 PM.png

While I was performing the EFI update from OCLP 0.6.6 to OCLP 0.6.7Beta2, I recorded the EFI changes for my dMBP6,2 and am providing them here in case anyone is interested. These are the differences between the MBP6,2 OC EFI generated by OCLP 0.6.6 and O.6.7Beta2:

EFI Changes from OCLP 0.6.6 to OCLP 0.6.7Beta2
EFI/OC/config.plist

  • NVRAM > Add > 7C436110-AB2A-4BBB-A880-FE41995C9F82 > boot-args: Remove amfi=0x80
  • NVRAM > Add > 4D1FDA02-38C7-4A6A-9CC6-4BCCA8B30102 > OCLP-Version: 0.6.7, OCLP-Settings: Remove -allow_amfi
  • Kernel > Add > Item23: AMFIPass.kext
  • Kernel > Patch: Remove Item1: Disable Library Validation Enforcement
  • Kernel > Patch: Remove Item6: Disable _csr_check() in _vnode_check_signature
EFI/OC/Kexts

  • Add AMFIPass.kext
  • Update Bluetooth-Spoof.kext (not sure if there were any changes)
  • Upgraded Lilu.kext 1.6.5 -> 1.6.6

EDIT: I used this new OCLP 0.6.7Beta2 EFI to perform a clean installation of Ventura 13.4 with a migration of apps/data from another Ventura volume. I then applied the OCLP 0.6.7Beta2 post-install patches to the new Ventura 13.4 volume. I fully understand that this installation on a hackintosh (with AMFI and Library Validation enabled) is not supported by the OCLP developers, so for me it is a proof of concept that I may not be able to upgrade and patch with future versions of OCLP. Time (and the continuing excellent work by OCLP developers) will tell.
