I'm afraid to say, you're right! Hadn't tried that with Ventura. Running Monterey 10.1.12 still worked. You'd have to create a volume running Big Sur or Monterey and do your videos there - or upgrade your GPU.I found many people stating that they could run non-metal versions of apps on their OCLP'ed macs. I'm probably reading it incorrectly, can I run a non-metal version of iMovie (example 10.1.12) on my old iMac now that it's running Ventura thru OCLP? My "computer says no", do I need a tweak or a hack or is it just not possible?
Like I said above: I'm just trying to get some video-editing software running.
Thanks,
P.
Hi, I seem to have just been handed a way to use iMovie 10.1.12 with Ventura. Havent done much with it, but just right-clicking on the incompatible iMovie/show package contents/Contents/MacOS/open iMovie does open the program in a stable way.I'm afraid to say, you're right! It is a non-metal related issue. Word 16.49 is your friend.Just gone back to macOS on my 5,1 mac mini after trying chrome os and fedora on it over the last few months. Pleasantly surprised how well Ventura now runs on it, pretty much as good as Monterey. However one issue that is still present which was also an issue on monteray is word 365 glitches. When you highlight any text you get an annoying grey box that covers the highlighted area so you can’t see anything. This is most probably a non metal issue but I was wondering if anybody had found a solution? Changing the highlighted colour in settings does nothing. I’ve installed Libre office as a work around but word working properly would be great!!!! Thanks
Thanks a lot!It is a non-metal related. Word 16.49 is your friend.

Funny how the highlight issue is only present in recent versions of , even in non metal! So old word and latest excel and PowerPoint running alongside each other on the same license! Thanks a lot!![]()
Weird. I’ve had this on mini 5,1 all the way back to Monterey with oclp. Now on Ventura 13.4 and latest oclp and still happens. Word from 2021 is ok so not the end of the worldReporting in case this helps to diagnose the issue. It appears that the Word highlighting issue is not consistent across platforms (not surprising). I'm not experiencing the Word issue on my MBP6,2 (non-metal Nvidia Tesla, patched with OCLP 0.6.7 AMFIPass Beta version, AMFI/LV enabled). I'm running Word 16.74.

I confirmed proper operation of Word 16.74 in Ventura 13.2.1 and Ventura 13.4.
That’s very helpful thank you. I’m at work at the moment but basically when you highlight any text as you would do to change font/spell check etc, rather than highlighting the text area you just get a grey filled in box. I’ve tried mucking about by changing the highlighted text colour in system settings etc but not good. Same issues as reported here on MS forums by another Mac user. In fact there are quite a lot of reports of the same issue when you carry out an internet search. I still lean towards it being some sort of non metal issue but any resolution would be great@walterwhite1 If you post a screenshot of the Word issue, I'd be happy to experiment with Word and macOS settings to see if I can reproduce the issue to find the cause.
Yep good shout. It might be an intel hd3000 graphics issue@walterwhite1 Ok. I haven't seen the Word issue at all, so maybe it's not as broad as a non-metal issue and may be more specific to Intel HD Graphics non-metal? The NVidia Tesla non-metal OCLP patching is working very well.
This is an old problem: see this post;Just gone back to macOS on my 5,1 mac mini after trying chrome os and fedora on it over the last few months. I have the same problem with apple watch. Did u find a solution?the only issue I'm having that still persists is that unlocking my Mac mini 2014 with my Apple Watch won't work however authorizing app installs or admin prompts via apple watch work just fine. anyone else?
I'm on 13.2.1, OCLP 0.6.4.
on my external NVMe drive, I installed Ventura 13.3.1 and it seems to work fine so far. haven't tested the Apple Watch yet.
Thanks, will try it here and see if it can get through.Once i had similar issue. I am in the middle of fully upgrade 21.5 Mid-2011. Despite the fact that i have perfect internet connection via AirPort Extreme 6th gen i wasn't able to complete the creation of bootable usb. I switched to ethernet - all was done flawlessly.
I can only test with hd3000, so that might be the case.Yep good shout. It might be an intel hd3000 graphics issue
