My Ventura OCLP system is not my primary system, and I only keep a small library on the system. I can't say for sure one way or the other that all the Photos services were working properly or not in my previous 13.x installs with OCLP.You mean you never had the issue before latest update? I never had photo’s face and object recognition working since upgraded to Ventura on OCLP. Am I missing something? I thought OCLP disables this feature
You're at least getting a different error than I am with people in Photos. I wonder if you are also seeing mediaanlsysisd and photoanalysisd crashes.1. Yes, the MBA is missing lots of people and always says "Updating people...Photos will finish updating your People when you're not using the all and your Mac is connected to power".
2. No, looks like the MBA was set to optimize. Flipped to Download and will give it some time to brew.
I do the same in all my legacy Macs.Care to elaborate on your update process on your MBP4,1? Mine is on Ventura 13.3.1 and OCLP 0.6.8
What is your machine and oclp version where this works? It broke for me on my Mid 2012 MBP after 13.2.1 and hasn't worked since.
Yes, exactly the same Bluetooth problem. See my comment #6731 and the reply’s received.I successfully updated my iMac 11,2 to Ventura 13.5 without major complications, and run OCLP 0.6.8 after it. View attachment 2240717
the only issues I've noticed so far are:
1. Adobe Acrobat stops responding when editing, opening, or signing a PDF, (basically is unusable)
2. bluetooth shows as off even though I am using an apple bluetooth keyboard (special buttons such as display brightness , volume and music control are not doing what they are meant to do), and I am unable to "turn it on"

is anyone else experiencing the same or have found a workaround at least for Acrobat?
I also encountered this bluetooth toggle issue with Ventura in my 12,2 iMac many times. The solution that worked for me is to boot into Big Sur (I keep a separate volume for Big Sur as fall back just in case something broke after an update in Ventura or OCLP). In my case, bluetooth works fine 100% of the time in Big Sur. After booting to Big Sur, just toggle the bluetooth off, then on again. Connect all BT devices and make sure that BT devices work as they should then reboot to Ventura. Im not aware what happens but for some reason, this method fixes my BT problem in Ventura 100% of the time. May work for you but no guarantee.I successfully updated my iMac 11,2 to Ventura 13.5 without major complications, and run OCLP 0.6.8 after it. View attachment 2240717

I followed your How-to, resulting in a successful OTA update from Ventura 13.3.1 to 13.5 via OCLP 0.6.9n on my MBP4,1 17-inch Early 2008.I do the same in all my legacy Macs.
- I download the latest nightly build OCLP
- I install the new EFI boot
- I update OS from System Config
- I apply post install root patch
- Using OCAT (https://github.com/ic005k/OCAuxiliaryTools), I update OC and kexts (devs version)
If something fail, I build USB installer and try again, booting from USB. If it continue failing, I disable kexts and/or other settings until installation succed. I re-add the kexts/settings. If something fail at this stage, I start to find similar situation on web and read more about the possible culprit.
Thanks for the info. Please let me know how it goesMy Ventura OCLP system is not my primary system, and I only keep a small library on the system. I can't say for sure one way or the other that all the Photos services were working properly or not in my previous 13.x installs with OCLP.
I can say for sure that right now on my Mid 2012 15 inch MacBook Pro 9,1 under 13.5 OCLP 6.8 both photoanalysisd and mediaanalysisd crash immediately on their first attempts to start after rebooting the system.
I've tried a few general Apple Photos clean up things including rebuilding the Photos System Library and running the maintenances tasks to rebuild the launch services database with Onyx.
My next test is to do a fresh new OCLP and Ventura 13.5 install on a different drive and see what happens.
Just wanted to say how amazed I am by the performance of Ventura 13.5 patched with OCLP 0.6.8 on my MBP6,2. The MS Remote Desktop graphics "clipping" and Safari copy/paste sluggishness that I experienced in Ventura 13.4.1 is completely fixed. Ventura 13.5 is a pleasure to use on this 2010 laptop. Devs, you continue to work Mac Miracles. Well done!
Quick update: updating OCLP to v. 0.6.8 and applying all patches again automagically fixed all my TCC woes. It was good that I just let my machine sit while I waited for an update, and that I applied those as a last ditch measure before nuking the entire partition (as I just realized downgrading is, indeed, impossible), oof. That was a real timesaver right there! It's also great to finally have a fully supported M2 laptop for work (I'm just keeping this one as a backup, and running Ventura instead of Catalina, or the more sensible Big Sur on it to stick it to the man).I would refrain from doing so, at least until the next version of OCLP comes along. I have the same machine as you, and just upgraded from Ventura 13.4.1 to 13.5, and now TCC, namely AppleEvents (the framework behind System Settings > Privacy & Security > Automation) is completely fscked. Typeface.app scripts for InDesign and InCopy get stuck in an endless error loop, BarTunes doesn't even ask for permission to control Music.app, the works. I've tried everything, including nuking the TCC database from the recovery partition, manually adding entries to it using tccplus, etc., and I'm at my wits end.
I'll try downgrading to 13.4.1 and, if it doesn't work, I'll set aside my machine and do a clean install later on (I did get a 15'' MacBook Air to replace it as a daily driver, in addition to the M1 Max Mac Studio I have at my desk, so it's all good, but it's still extremely annoying to get such basic functionality completely borked; this reminds me all too much of my Windows days and finagling with the Registry, ffs… What next, I'll have to sacrifice a chicken to get TCC to work? And what's more, I already had to deal with similar shenanigans with BarTunes on my mid-2010 Unibody MacBook a year or so ago until I caved in and did a clean install, so this crap is clearly a regression/a recurrent issue).
I have the same problem, Not only pages, but also numbers and keynote, did you find a solution? In the Pages application: when trying to import images by dragging from the desktop or using the Media menu item, the application crashes
I think there will be no solution - the developers it's are no longer interested - they are busy with Sonoma.I have the same problem, Not only pages, but also numbers and keynote, did you find a solution?
I THINK THAT VENTURA 13.2.1 is very good and works well with IMAC PRE HASWELL CHIPS only problem is Pages library Invalid instructions because of RsR SECURITY and NVIDIA KEPLER OPTIMISATION WHICH DEVELOPERS NOT HAVE TIMEI think there will be no solution - the developers it's are no longer interested - they are busy with Sonoma.
But I also have questions:
After switching to 13.4 and 13.5, the initial loading speed of many third-party (non-Apple) applications (Photoshop, Excel, Chrome ...) has decreased and instead of 13...15 seconds, now 25...30 seconds.
Also, the video card (indicated in the signature) is buggy and I really don’t like it all
Unfortunately, after Catalina, I immediately installed Ventura 13.3, but I would like to know which of the following works in Ventura 13.2.1 on iMac 13,2:
1. Import images to pages
2. Face recognition in photos
3. Live text (text recognition on images)
4. Apps download speed
If anyone can advise I would be very grateful
Monterey is certainly the sweet spot for unsupported Macs in my opinion. Haven’t tried Ventura my Haswell machine yet but probably will in the coming weeks.Regarding some of the issues people have been seeing lately with Pages/Numbers drag and drop crashes, Photos face and text recognition, bluetooth not starting or crashing.
My personal Ventura 13.x OCLP installs worked fine for my use until I shot myself in the foot by accidentally doing a Silent Knight install of all updates which included the RSR 13.4.1 (c). This pushed me to 13.5 before I would normally have chosen to do the install. My 13.5 with 0.6.8 install has been just annoying enough that I've spent some time investigating.
This is just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. I believe from my tests on my system after watching my Crash Reports that some of the issues may lie with the changes the developers had to make in OCLP to deal with the RSR's on pre Haswell systems for Ventura 13.5. As with any new major release, there will be a new collection of bugs within Ventura itself.
Again, this is just one guy's opinion in a web forum.
In the next few days I will be testing a number of erase and install configurations on different drives in my 2012 MacBook Pro to find a stable configuration for my own use.
I suspect I will end up not going forward with Ventura, and will likely end up using Monterey 12.6.8 on my 2012 MacBook Pro for the foreseeable future. I'll report some more on my personal results in a few days.
