I successfully updated my iMac 11,2 to Ventura 13.5 without major complications, and run OCLP 0.6.8 after it.
Screenshot 2023-08-02 at 14.43.12.png

the only issues I've noticed so far are:
1. Adobe Acrobat stops responding when editing, opening, or signing a PDF, (basically is unusable)
2. bluetooth shows as off even though I am using an apple bluetooth keyboard (special buttons such as display brightness , volume and music control are not doing what they are meant to do), and I am unable to "turn it on"
Screenshot 2023-08-02 at 14.48.05.png

is anyone else experiencing the same or have found a workaround at least for Acrobat?

You mean you never had the issue before latest update? I never had photo’s face and object recognition working since upgraded to Ventura on OCLP. Am I missing something? I thought OCLP disables this feature
My Ventura OCLP system is not my primary system, and I only keep a small library on the system. I can't say for sure one way or the other that all the Photos services were working properly or not in my previous 13.x installs with OCLP.

I can say for sure that right now on my Mid 2012 15 inch MacBook Pro 9,1 under 13.5 OCLP 6.8 both photoanalysisd and mediaanalysisd crash immediately on their first attempts to start after rebooting the system.

I've tried a few general Apple Photos clean up things including rebuilding the Photos System Library and running the maintenances tasks to rebuild the launch services database with Onyx.

My next test is to do a fresh new OCLP and Ventura 13.5 install on a different drive and see what happens.

1. Yes, the MBA is missing lots of people and always says "Updating people...Photos will finish updating your People when you're not using the all and your Mac is connected to power".
2. No, looks like the MBA was set to optimize. Flipped to Download and will give it some time to brew.
You're at least getting a different error than I am with people in Photos. I wonder if you are also seeing mediaanlsysisd and photoanalysisd crashes.

Not sure that turning off optimization will make any difference but perhaps it will kick start another service into action.

I'm going to try fresh brand new Ventura installs on different drives in my 2012 Mini 6,2 and MacBook Pro 9,1 systems to see what happens.

Care to elaborate on your update process on your MBP4,1? Mine is on Ventura 13.3.1 and OCLP 0.6.8
I do the same in all my legacy Macs.
- I download the latest nightly build OCLP
- I install the new EFI boot
- I update OS from System Config
- I apply post install root patch
- Using OCAT (https://github.com/ic005k/OCAuxiliaryTools), I update OC and kexts (devs version)

If something fail, I build USB installer and try again, booting from USB. If it continue failing, I disable kexts and/or other settings until installation succed. I re-add the kexts/settings. If something fail at this stage, I start to find similar situation on web and read more about the possible culprit.

What is your machine and oclp version where this works? It broke for me on my Mid 2012 MBP after 13.2.1 and hasn't worked since.

I think you are right. 😟
I have two MacBook Pro 15-inch 2012 Unibody (non-retina), one is 2.6GHz with 1GB Nvidia and the other is 2.3GHz with 512MB.

here is my results
On MacBook 2,6; Ventura 13.2.1 with OpenCore 0.6.1, it has no problem with inserting media beside copying texts from browser to Apple iWork wont work.
On MacBook 2,3; Ventura 13.5 with Opencore 0.6.8, inserting images will crash the Apple iWork, I did not notice this before and I am sorry, but copying texts from browsers to Apple iWork is working.

I have tested in both GPU modes Intel and Nvidia, I tested JPEG, PNG, WEBP and ICNS. I never had problem by inserting media or drag and drop photos to Apple Pages, Numbers, Keynote in Ventura 13.2.1 with Opencore 0.6.1

I will try to do more research later for this problem, any suggests are welcome. :)

Yes, exactly the same Bluetooth problem. See my comment #6731 and the reply’s received.
I‘m considering replacing the AC WiFi Bluetooth card, but not sure yet. My Magic Keyboard and mouse work correctly, except for the mouse’s finger scrolling.

I also encountered this bluetooth toggle issue with Ventura in my 12,2 iMac many times. The solution that worked for me is to boot into Big Sur (I keep a separate volume for Big Sur as fall back just in case something broke after an update in Ventura or OCLP). In my case, bluetooth works fine 100% of the time in Big Sur. After booting to Big Sur, just toggle the bluetooth off, then on again. Connect all BT devices and make sure that BT devices work as they should then reboot to Ventura. Im not aware what happens but for some reason, this method fixes my BT problem in Ventura 100% of the time. May work for you but no guarantee.

I followed your How-to, resulting in a successful OTA update from Ventura 13.3.1 to 13.5 via OCLP 0.6.9n on my MBP4,1 17-inch Early 2008.

My machine overheated during the update process and shut down after the update amidst the root patching process. After cool-down, OCLP did the job.
Thank you for your advice, Stefan.

Just wanted to say how amazed I am by the performance of Ventura 13.5 patched with OCLP 0.6.8 on my MBP6,2. The MS Remote Desktop graphics "clipping" and Safari copy/paste sluggishness that I experienced in Ventura 13.4.1 is completely fixed. Ventura 13.5 is a pleasure to use on this 2010 laptop. Devs, you continue to work Mac Miracles. Well done!

Great to read about your successful install and the joy it provides you. Congrats!

I would refrain from doing so, at least until the next version of OCLP comes along. I have the same machine as you, and just upgraded from Ventura 13.4.1 to 13.5, and now TCC, namely AppleEvents (the framework behind System Settings > Privacy & Security > Automation) is completely fscked. Typeface.app scripts for InDesign and InCopy get stuck in an endless error loop, BarTunes doesn't even ask for permission to control Music.app, the works. I've tried everything, including nuking the TCC database from the recovery partition, manually adding entries to it using tccplus, etc., and I'm at my wits end.

I'll try downgrading to 13.4.1 and, if it doesn't work, I'll set aside my machine and do a clean install later on (I did get a 15'' MacBook Air to replace it as a daily driver, in addition to the M1 Max Mac Studio I have at my desk, so it's all good, but it's still extremely annoying to get such basic functionality completely borked; this reminds me all too much of my Windows days and finagling with the Registry, ffs… What next, I'll have to sacrifice a chicken to get TCC to work? And what's more, I already had to deal with similar shenanigans with BarTunes on my mid-2010 Unibody MacBook a year or so ago until I caved in and did a clean install, so this crap is clearly a regression/a recurrent issue).
Quick update: updating OCLP to v. 0.6.8 and applying all patches again automagically fixed all my TCC woes. It was good that I just let my machine sit while I waited for an update, and that I applied those as a last ditch measure before nuking the entire partition (as I just realized downgrading is, indeed, impossible), oof. That was a real timesaver right there! It's also great to finally have a fully supported M2 laptop for work (I'm just keeping this one as a backup, and running Ventura instead of Catalina, or the more sensible Big Sur on it to stick it to the man).

I am getting, just like others in this thread, the “Compressor doesn't support running in a macOS virtual machine” bug, though… Again, no biggie, as it's not like I'm using this machine – or even the new M2 Air – for video editing, and I can always downgrade Compressor if I absolutely need it.

Back with a further update...
My 2012 (13,2) iMac wass the 2nd to go...
Went from 0.6.7n to 0.6.8, all ok. Then went from 13.4 to 13.5. Finished by re-running root patches. So far so good.

All my usual apps (Acrobat Pro, Brave, Mail, MSOffice & Teams, Music, Sonos, Spotify, Synergy, Text Mate, VLC, Zoom) work. This machine is not chained with the rest over Symeless's Synergy. Since I don't use handoff nor Universal Control so haven't checked the most recent issue above me.

The last machine (my daily driver) is the 2015 (15,2), not so sure yet as I've seen some people report issues with Acrobat and Bluetooth?

edit: OK I bit the bullet and updated the 2015 iMac (15,2). All good so far... Fingers crossed.

In the Pages application: when trying to import images by dragging from the desktop or using the Media menu item, the application crashes
I have the same problem, Not only pages, but also numbers and keynote, did you find a solution?

OCLP v0.6.8 and macOS 13.5 , both reinstall, not upgrades
After the system is installed, only pages, number and keynote are installed from the App Store, no other apps are installed, but these three apps import images by dragging from the desktop or using the Media menu item, the application crashes, Is there a way to fix this?

Just updated my MBP 2015, 11,5, to Ventura 13.5 using OCLP 0.6.8. Windows 11 is working in Parallels 13.3.2.
No issues for dragging pictures to Pages etc. (Updated using USB installer)

I think there will be no solution - the developers it's are no longer interested - they are busy with Sonoma.

But I also have questions:
After switching to 13.4 and 13.5, the initial loading speed of many third-party (non-Apple) applications (Photoshop, Excel, Chrome ...) has decreased and instead of 13...15 seconds, now 25...30 seconds.

Also, the video card (indicated in the signature) is buggy and I really don’t like it all

Unfortunately, after Catalina, I immediately installed Ventura 13.3, but I would like to know which of the following works in Ventura 13.2.1 on iMac 13,2:
1. Import images to pages
2. Face recognition in photos
3. Live text (text recognition on images)
4. Apps download speed

If anyone can advise I would be very grateful

Regarding some of the issues people have been seeing lately with Pages/Numbers drag and drop crashes, Photos face and text recognition, bluetooth not starting or crashing.

My personal Ventura 13.x OCLP installs worked fine for my use until I shot myself in the foot by accidentally doing a Silent Knight install of all updates which included the RSR 13.4.1 (c). This pushed me to 13.5 before I would normally have chosen to do the install. My 13.5 with 0.6.8 install has been just annoying enough that I've spent some time investigating.

This is just my opinion, so take it with a grain of salt. I believe from my tests on my system after watching my Crash Reports that some of the issues may lie with the changes the developers had to make in OCLP to deal with the RSR's on pre Haswell systems for Ventura 13.5. As with any new major release, there will be a new collection of bugs within Ventura itself.

Again, this is just one guy's opinion in a web forum.

In the next few days I will be testing a number of erase and install configurations on different drives in my 2012 MacBook Pro to find a stable configuration for my own use.

I suspect I will end up not going forward with Ventura, and will likely end up using Monterey 12.6.8 on my 2012 MacBook Pro for the foreseeable future. I'll report some more on my personal results in a few days.

I THINK THAT VENTURA 13.2.1 is very good and works well with IMAC PRE HASWELL CHIPS only problem is Pages library Invalid instructions because of RsR SECURITY and NVIDIA KEPLER OPTIMISATION WHICH DEVELOPERS NOT HAVE TIME

Developer should make emulation X2 Library for Pre Haswell chips so when you import Images you will use correct library instructions for Imac 2012 models

Since import pages in 2013 Haswell chips are not affected bad invalid instructions and they Work Just fine.

only problem left for pre haswell are only
Bluetooth problem and Universal Control
and PAGES AND numbers Library Fix

I think they will be patched in 0.6.9 Amfi pass patch

SONOMA WILL BE FOR ME SLOW ON THESE PRE HASWELL MACHINES

ONLY SOLUTION IS AS SAID FOR NOW MAC MINI 2018 model and Imac 2020 INTEL ONE IF THESE PATCHES ARE MODIFIED Pre Haswell MACHINES SHOULD BE RUNNING Fine AND WORKING SLOWLY BUT EFFiciently

Monterey is certainly the sweet spot for unsupported Macs in my opinion. Haven’t tried Ventura my Haswell machine yet but probably will in the coming weeks.

Hi, does anyone know if one can just download the latest nightly build of OCLP (0.6.9) and then just install it, or does one need to revert firstly. Seems to do the job both ways

Hi, I appreciate OCLP developers!!
I have a trouble with hang application while ~20mins (Pages, Numbers, Keynote and some text editor etc) when saving document (maybe hang when auto saving to iCloud Drive or for versions too).
When I use these applications in safe mode, hang does not occor at all.
Does anyone has some hint to solve this hang apps.

OCLP 0.6.8 macOS Ventura 13.5 MBPR15'(MacBookPro11,3) NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M, RAM16GB.
