I have an MBP 5,2 with SSD. I used OCLP 0.6.8 to create "macOS Installer". With monterey everything works fine. If i do an update through monterey the installation completes successfully. The problem only appears when I try to do a clean installation. Thanks!

last thing to do is Avx2 instructions on Imac 13.2 PreHaswell they said they will include EMULATOR SO COMMON OCLp

this wil help solve like @shmasser user said

1. Import images to pages
2. Face recognition in photos
3. Live text (text recognition on images)
4. Apps download speed

Avx2 will fix these issue on older Macs Machines

„Ugly“ Rounded Corners in Control Center when Darkmode is active

I know it is a bit picky: anyone else having glitches in dark mode? the rounded corners do not seem to be rendered fully / correctly. In Light mode it just looks „right“!

Hello, since OCLP 0.6.2 and later ( now at 0.6.8 ) my dropbox.app is very slow syncing. My feelings, yups, not for shure, and a glance at little snitch it looks like its waiting for something; then it goes somewahat quicker and do some 30-50 files at once. If I restart the computer then it runs a minute or ten okay, but then.... then slow. If I kill al the adobe processes it goes also quicker for some time. Before I did have DB crashes but that was over after some changes.

Is this issue known as an oclp issue?

At other devices I have no issues. Only OCLP used devices.

Any sugestions?

Another report problem, using Apple Cinema Display with my MacBook 15-inch 2012 on Ventura 13.2.1 with Opencore 0.6.8 will black freeze the Mac after locking the user (display off Macs) the Mac for a while.
And with Opencore 0.6.1 is totally fine and stable.
I tested Opencore 0.6.8 three times, 2 times with feature full unlock status, and one time partial feature unlock and all of them had problem that made Mac to freeze and the only rescue is to force shutdown. I reverted back to Opencore 0.6.1 with Partial unlock feature and its stable.

with MacBook 2012, you won't notice problems until many issues comes up in Ventura 13.5 (such as no location permission) with Opencore 0.6.8 (Apple's Pages import picture trouble).
The Ventura 13.2.1 with Opencore 0.6.1 is still the best for me.

Looking forward and Thanks again to OpenCore members and the friends.

I would appreciate for more details to know,

I could not notice the difference between Opencore 0.6.1 and Opencore 0.6.8 (in both Ventura 13.5 & 13.2.1), but Opencore 0.6.8 freezes my Mac with Apple Cinema when locked or Display off for a while.
The three times that I have done is the root patches was applied by opencore 0.6.8, and I tested two times (two restarts after testing frozen display) by building reinstalling Opencore 0.6.8 with Full unlock feature, and one time Partial unlock feature, the results were same issue that froze my Mac with my Apple Cinema if locked or Display off for a while.

I reverted back to opencore 0.6.1 by first unapply the root patch from opencore 0.6.8, restart, and then install opencore 0.6.1 with root patches, now no more trouble with MacOS Venture 13.2.1 with Opencore 0.6.1

I tested benchmark for both My Macs with new applied thermal paste Arctic MX-6 (Butter toast method)
- MacBook 2012 15 inch 2,6GHz with 1GB Nvidia 650M and 16GB G.Skill CL9 RAM;
Multi-core 2524 geekbench 6, Opencore 0.6.1 with Ventura 13.2.1 plus started at around 70C with Apple Cinema plugged in and with tens of running apps.
- MacBook 2012 15 inch 2,3GHz with 512MB Nvidia 650M and 12GB RAM;
Multi-core 2252 geekbench 6 on OS Ventura 13.5 started at around 38C and nothing more.
When I compare my computer with other numbers, I am glad and thankfully and its almost one of the highest numbers. plus with the help from Opencore developers and friends made our computers happy again.

If you are feeling brave enough, it might be interesting to test with the OCLP 0.6.9n avilable here;
Which has been flawless on my iMac 15,1 from late 2014, running Ventura 13.5

Not sure why you want to upgrade OCLP at all in your situation. I am not really motivated to go through the patching logic watching the sources, but:

- Ventura 13.2.1 runs perfectly with OCLP 0.6.1
- Ventura 13.3 broke a lot graphics stuff especially on HD4000 systems, needed deeper and different patching, this broke AMFI, needed OCLP 0.6.2+
- disabling AMFI opens another box of pandora which was closed with 0.6.8 (you cannot have it all)
- Ventura 13.5 offers new surprises like the pages problems on HD4000 and other iGPU driven systems

All this has been discussed here in depth, I was only watching it and have not even such a system to share any first and experiences.

OCLP devs do not have the intention to make new OCLP versions compatible with older macOS versions - what benefit do you expect from such an effort?

Okay, I will try by making another APFS volume (partition) on my MacBook 512GB nvidia 650M to test the nightly versions of Opencore.

Yes you are correct. but maybe at some point, it might provide a clue.
The reason why did I upgrade (or test) OpenCore is on Ventura 13.5 with Opencore 0.6.8, I can copy texts from other browsers to Apple Pages directly, but on Ventura 13.2.1 with Opencore 0.6.1, copy texts from other browsers to Apple Pages will not work, I had to paste to Textedit and then copy it to paste in Apple Pages.

So not only the opencore 0.6.8 did not solve about copying texts in Ventura 13.2.1, it also cause issue to freeze my Mac with Apple Cinema when locked or Display off for a while.
With that I got an Error log which might be useful for Developers for why would Opencore 0.6.8 cause this problem but not the older version 0.6.1 on Ventura 13.2.1, and I am almost sure from my experience this cannot be just because of connected Apple Cinema, usually these are connected to each other trouble for Drivers Kexts.

I can confirm that with OCLP 0.6.8, macOS Ventura 13.5 and the LED Cinema Display, in closed lid mode, also the MBP11,1 freezes after a while (never happened before) and must be forcedly shut down; while fortunately it still works connected to the display with the lid open: let’s hope this problem will be fixed soon…

Trying to install any version of macOS Monterey, Ventura, Sonoma beta with OCLP 0.6.8 all fails similar on my MP 5.1 where as on my MP 3.1 it works. Both have the same Graphic card installed, AMD5770.

On MP 5.1 the OS installs and reboots and continues installation and the suddenly it fails after approx. 10 min. seemly with a failed DNS lookup: NSPOSIXErrorDomain, but wouldn't expect this to make install Assistance to fail.

Booted of an alternative OS and looked into install logs, doesn't reveal much to my knowledge, but hoping others might read more from such logs.

Install logs samles

Hello all,
if possible could someone send a picture of their startup manager when starting while holding the alt/option key and have more than one volume both utilizing OCLP. I currently only have one volume (Ventura 13.5 w/ OCLP 6.8) on my 2009 21.5” Imac (10,1), but was thinking about adding a second volume . I’m trying to figure out what the EFI boot icons would look like and how one determines which one to click on. Sorry for the trouble and as always, thanks to all for your efforts. Jim

The boot icons will be the same in the Apple Startup Manager unless you make them not the same. To change the icon, mount the volume and paste a different icon onto the volume icon in the Get Info window in the Finder.

With old Macs, EFI programs usually appear as "EFI Boot" in the Startup Manager and the name shown in the Startup Manager can't be changed unless they are on a HFS+ partition. But if it's on an HFS+ partition, then logs and screenshots during EFI will need to be saved to a EFI or FAT partition.

With some old Macs, the Volume Icon needs to have a specific format to be visible in Startup Manager. Also, different Mac OS X versions have different requirements for the Volume Icon. Maybe the EFI for your 2009 iMac doesn't have the limitations that my 2008 Mac Pro had.

For Open Core or OCLP, I chose the following icons:

Hello everybody! I tried to install MacOs ventura on unsupported MBP 5,2 with OCLP 0.6.8. During the installation the following message appears "An error occurred while preparing the software update". How to solve this? With monterey everything works fine. If i do an update through monterey the installation completes successfully. The problem only appears when I try to do a clean installation. Thanks!

Hi guys.
I'm trying to get Airplay receiver work for my iMac 5K 27" Mid-2017 but I can't get it work with it.
I tried the Mr. Hackintosh older guide on YouTube but it doesn't work.
Any ideas on how to get it work? I don't even see the Airplay receiver option on Handoff on General Preferences.
I have the latest Ventura version on my Mac.
When I use OCLP I have the Build and Install option on OCLP disabled. Is it possible that older Macs can stream from Apple devices and I can't??? Help me, please!

OCLP 0.6.8 Ventura 13.5 install on a Mac mini 6,2 (2012) i7-3615qm, boots up, but it cannot detect screen well

when plugin with mdp, machine cannot restart, only black screen with no signal is shown, while HDMI is fine with that

Screen is a LG 4k screen sets with dp1.2

Reset SMC and NVRAM is tried , post patch is also installed

Any suggestion on that?

I had something similar happen after updating to 13.5 + OCLP 6.8. In my case I was able to fix it by making sure the external monitor (connected using Thunderbolt > DisplayPort) was designated as 'Main display' in System Settings > Displays.

I believe it had lost that setting during the update. Now it's working again perfectly.

Seems like 0.6.8 fixed a lot of issues I was having with my 2015 5k iMac.

The photos app seems to be working normally. Can play videos normally (used to hang and wouldn’t play any videos) and able to import photos and videos again and it seems to be running a lot faster in general.

No mention in the changelog about fixes to graphic hardware acceleration for this machine (which I know was a long-standing issue) but seems to be working great now. Anybody having the same experience?
