I'm not sure I understood correctly, but I believe I read somewhere that one or more people are patching Ventura with OCLP 0.6.9n (Sonoma-development) because they are multi-booting Ventura and Sonoma. OCLP post-install patcher does not touch the EFI, so there's no reason to apply OCLP 0.6.9n (Sonoma-development) post-install patches to Ventura just because you're applying 0.6.9n post-install patches to Sonoma in another Volume.

While not a "supported" configuration, I am currently using an OCLP 0.6.9 - generated Open Core EFI to multi-boot Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura and Sonoma. I use OCLP 0.6.8 (Release build) to apply post-install patches to Big Sur, Monterey and Ventura and I use OCLP 0.6.9 Sonoma-development build to apply post-install patches to Sonoma. The OCLP post-install patcher does not touch the EFI.

EDIT: My OC EFI leaves AMFI and Library Validation fully enabled (with AMFIPass.kext 1.3.1).

I have a couple of questions that I'm sure you awesome people will be able to answer.

1- I have Ventura 13.6 on my 2010 MBP and 2013 MBA. If I want to downgrade to Ventura 13.5.2, do I need to create a new installer for each laptop?

2 - Is there a setting on OCLP that it DOESN'T sho the Beta on "Installers currently available form Apple"? I assumed the I was the current version released and not a Beta.

Thanks, Tony

For OCLP 0.6.8 and earlier users: Hibernation issue resolved on MacBook Air 2012 by removing IntelPowerManagement kexts
Could you explain how this is done? Today was the first time in months where my MBP 11,4 turned off with a "kernal panic" about power management.
I'm on 13.4.1 and OCLP 0.6.8

You need to mount the EFI and remove the kexts in the Drivers folder inside the EFI\OC

Remove references to these kexts from config.plist, you can use a program to help with this, such as OCAuxiliaryTools

Following suggestion in another thread, I upgraded from Catalina to Ventura 13.6 using OCLP 0.6.8 on my MacBook Pro 10.2 (Mid-2012, 13-inch), 2,5 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3.

Faster booting.
Easy integrated migration of software and data.
So far, system looks stable.
Temperature: 30c-37c.

Battery: draining fairly faster.

Netflix and Amazon Prime movies on projector look better.

Apple News: unstable. "Quit unexpectedly" almost every 5 minutes. Showing gray in Applications. Any suggestion?

I have a 2015 11,4 running 13.4.1 no problems and a 2009 MBP 5,5 running Monterrey and it's smooth and quick (except maps). I didn't even try Ventura on my 5,5----However, I do have 8 GB RAM and a SSD HD on my 2009. That makes it much faster. Could you upgrade RAM or your HDD?
Non-upgradable, no. Installed Monterey instead, and the lappy was very fast, yet still running hot and draining quickly. Then I went back to Catalina, and the issues persisted :D Perhaps the thermal compound had dried out. Also, it’s been rather warm in my region recently.

I have the latest OCLP 0.6.8 installed with Ventura 13.5.2 on my MacbookPro11,5. I have one Windows computer on my LAN that I cannot maintain a remote desktop connection.

My RDC session continually drops with this one Windows machine. This problem does not happen from other Windows machines or from my MacPro5,1 running OCLP Monterrey.

My MacbookPro11,5 can establish RDC with other Windows computers and maintain the connection, so it seems to be isolated to this one particular Windows 10 computer, but since it doesn't happen from any other client, it is a mystery.

I am backing up my MacBook Pro now so that I can install the latest OCLP patcher with Ventura to see if that resolves the issue, but I don't have high hopes. Since WiFi is one of the root patching areas, I thought it may be WiFi-related.

Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!

My configuration is as you describe in your first paragraph, simply because I’ve always built OC and patched with the same version, never mixed. So far as I can tell, there’s no harm in patching Ventura with the Sonoma branch nightly build as it has everything the previous OS versions need ( accepting its beta and may introduce instabilities, which it hasn’t.) as well as any development introduced for Sonoma.
Hopefully not too long now before the Sonoma branch is merged into the main build at which point this is no longer a topic for debate, until next year!

Updated my Macmini6,2 (Late2012, "Ivy Bridge") from Ventura 13.5 to 13.5.2 OTA. Reapplied Root Patches using OCLP 0.6.8. No issues (except of numbers/pages/ will crash on image import due "pre-haswell")

Did you happen to try resetting the pram or smc?

Hey gals and guys, I've got the 17,1 iMac running Monterey, rather smoothly I might ad, been kicking around upgrading to Ventura, I've been so busy testing beta Sonoma on my 2019 iMac (final version in a couple of weeks, so yaa) that I've kinda kicked my 2015 to the curb, I've read thru a lot of posts (25+ pages) and it appears its running pretty good on on a lot of platforms. I did the Mohave thing on a 2011 iMac years ago and it was pretty much useless without graphic acceleration, fans running at the max, almost like booting in Safe Mode...really slow, a shoutout to Dosedude1 for relentlessly releasing patches for Mohave!
I've got the 2 gb AMD Radeon R9 M380, I know in the past the AMD Radeon's usually don't have a good track record when it comes to unsupported Macs, anyone care to shed some light on how their iMacs running?
Thanks everyone

I have a 2009 iMac 27” i7 Nvidia Quadro K4100M Ventura 13.5.1

BCM943602CDP AIRPORT CARD. OPLP 0.6.7

When I was updating my macOS and I got to OPLP 0.6.6, I lost

Bluetooth. Everything else worked. Then I update to OPLP 0.6.7 and it

Came back, now I update to OPLP 0.6.8 and lost Bluetooth again. I know tried

The latest OPLP 0.6.9 and Bluetooth doesn’t work either. So my Bluetooth work in 0.6.5 stop in 06.6 work in 0.6.7 which I am using now and stop in 0.68 and 0.6.9.

Help.

Sonoma RC running fine on iMac 15,1 late 2014 with 2 gb AMD Radeon R9 M290. Very smooth, and quick. Your hardware is even better so it should good to go. Updated OTA using the Developer's Beta program.

You need to update to Ventura 13.5.2 to get that important security fix Apple rushed out.
In regard to the bluetooth issue, you can try the latest OCLP (not OPLP!) available here;
If that doesn't work, one last ditch effort is to download the latest Sonoma branch OCLP (URL shown below) and use its Build and install function only (the root patches are obviously not correct for Ventura using that version). The developers have put a lot of effort into the Sonoma branch, so it may solve your bluetooth issue. Then again, I don't know about that hardware, especially the bluetooth card. Someone familiar with that card may have something to say about that issue.

Similar to you, I have a 17,1 but with the R9 M395. With OCLP 0.6.9 I am able to run 13.5.2 very smoothly. Doesn't seem to lag at all with Lightroom and TV now displaying videos properly, without crashing.

Upgraded OLCP to 0.6.8 from 0.6.7 (prompted by the app itself, which then downloaded and installed the update without a hitch), under Ventura 13.5.2, and then rebuilt and reinstalled Open Core again to the disk following the OLCP app suggestion. Suddenly, upon reboot, the machine (Late 2012 21,5 inches iMac with a Fusion Drive), got stuck after typing my user password with an eternal spinning wheel under it and a notification that said "Optimizing Your Mac". It never went beyond this stage (I waited 45 minutes).

Eventually I had to reinstall Catalina from scratch using the Internet Recovery Mode, and from there I made a fresh installer of Ventura with OLCP 0.6.8 on a new 16 GB pendrive. Curiously enough, for Ventura the app only gave me the option to download Ventura 13.6, even though is technically an RC built.

Everything went well, and in fact the machine is now considerably smoother UI wise, and the overall graphics performance seems a lot better. Maybe this is the result of under the hood improvements on OLCP 0.6.8.

Now... any idea of what happened?. Why update OCLP and then rebuilt Open Core made the computer to get stuck on the next login after rebooting it?. It´s advisable then to frequently update the OCLP app and then rebuilt Open Core again each, or to do it only when is absolutely necessary (ie, a major OS update).

Thanks in advance.

PS: Hoping my Imac will eventually receive Sonoma support (if at all possible, of course).

Ventura 13.5.2 on iMac 17,1 (M390) and OCLP 0.6.9n.
I have noticed 2 glitches for my setup:
- Windows guest in VMWare Fusion 13 not working with Direct3D acceleration
- Xcode debugging on real device causes an LLDB issue

Appart from that and SIP disabled, it's like on a supported Mac.

Installed Ventura 13.6 with OCLP 0.6.8 on MBP (Mid 2012, 13-inch, 2,5 GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i5, Intel HD Graphics 4000 1536 MB, 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3).

Quick booting and Run smoothly.

However, Apple News is very unstable: "News quit unexpectedly." after 1-2 minutes!

I read that Ventura 13.5.2 is more stable than 13.6 (RC).
However, I don't remember having the choice, when I installed Ventura 13.6 with OCLP 0.6.8.

Is it possible to revert easily to 13.5.2 in my SSD Ventura partition, without having to start from scratch and having to erase the Ventura partition where my data have migrated?
