I liked how Ventura has been running on my 2015 MacBook Pro 13's and how good it has been running on my 2015 11-inch Air that I decided to install this on my 2015 MacBook Pro 15 as well. :) Guess I went all in with Ventura.

I have to say for all who contributed to the development of OCLP 0.5.1, well done! Amazing work and I'm looking forward to seeing development being done so that support for cMP will be out. Looking forward to installing this OS on my MacPro

On my MacBookPro12,1. Installation has worked flawlessly.

On my Macmini7,1 using the same USB Hardware ( formatted and patched again for this machine), it already took a very long time until I could select the EFI boot on the USB stick and then again a very long time to start the boot of MacOS Install.
Thus booting of MacOS Install then finally crashed after 10 - 15 Minutes. So no luck.

After a lot of hassle, I finally have 13.0 working on my 2012 iMac using OCLP 5.1 and so far so good....except that I opted for a clean install.
When I tried to use Recovery to load my Time Machine backup it doesn't see my TM. The disk is connected and when I open it I can see all my backups!

Any ideas on how to solve this?

Installed 13.0 on a 2017 air, MacBook shut down like 4 times, I thought it wouldn't work.
Later tried in a 2013 27" and installation went like a charm.

Hi everyone I noticed a little problem with Chrome after upgrading to Ventura. At startup it appears to be very slow before opening the home page we are about 30 seconds. After the navigation it turns out to be normal but only at the start it takes much longer than in Monterey, has anyone noticed the same thing ??? Thanks in advance

I must say I ran Monterey on my 2015 MacBook 12, it ws slow unstable randomly getting dashcode errors even after updates, to the extent I put it in the drawer and got a used 2017 MacBook.

Thought id try this and its a different machine no crashes and runs nearly as well as my 2017 now! Thanks

Been using Ventura 13.0 now for close to a week, on my early 2015 13 inch MacBook Air, it is my main laptop and so far after figuring out why it wouldn't like go completely to sleep when closing the lid, which was my fault for not reading completely and failing to install the post install patch for the display which fixed its sleeping issue it works absolutely perfect. I would recommend anyone who has a similar laptop to go ahead and do the install with OCLP, makes the machine as good as a new one. Thanks for the awesome job getting the tool working so this can be done.

Hey, dont know if this is an issue, but both the HD 4000 and 650M in my MBP 10,1 report as Metal 2 compatible for some reason, I dont think it supports that.

Updated to Ventura 13,1 beta my main Mac mini late 2012 internal SSD from external usb2 ssd (Ventura 13 22A380 installation).
Note that once OCLP is installed on main internal disk (not root patching, but build and install) every system on a disk is bootable without problems also usb installation flash pendrive. Root patching instead is for a specific system or partition, that's the difference. Root patching Usb flash is useless (to me) cause to boot unsupported systems we are pendrive slaves. Would like to thank very very much Khronokernel, DhinakG, Acidanthera, Ausdauersportler, vit9696, ASentientBot, hvds and all the OCLP team for wonderful work.

Thats so weird, i never saw Metal 2 under GPU info in system information, before ventura. it always said something like : macOS Family 1 v3
Metal 2 wasn’t a replacement for the original Metal but rather an update to the same API. Every device that supported Metal 1 also supported Metal 2. So until Metal 3 was released there was probably little reason to differentiate between the different versions as all devices supported the entire API.

It happened to me with Monterey, but if you pay attention and try again, going back once or twice and selecting the Time Machine disk again, all of a sudden all Backups appear.
In practice I tried to go back, select the disk with the “Macintosh HD” snapshots and then I went back and tried to select Time Machine again.
You probably Time Machine it need to wait some time. (???)

Airplay receiver is not working for me with 0.5.1. Don’t find any solution for now..
The issie is known to the OCLP Developers.
With Monterey 12.3 the same problem seemed unsolvable for my iMac 14,2. Later, however, AirPlay began to work well, thanks to Apple and OCLP’s code improvements and refinements.
We continue to hope and hope that everything will be resolved soon.

as of now I have reverted my MacBookAir6,1 to Monterey as AirPlay Receiver music streaming output.
Yes let's wait and see if OCLP team comes up with a patch or something.

But no, @sl0wmotion, come on...
Stay with Ventura because it is a hundred times better than Monterey...
macOS 13 has been optimized and is very responsive, fast, richer in services, etc.
So, for streaming, try using apps like "Reflector", "AirServer", "AirDrop", etc.
I can't tell you if Reflector works with your streaming music, as I don't use it for this purpose, but surely Reflector works very, very well for iPhone screen mirroring or for viewing YouTube videos and more from iPhone to Mac.
In addition, Reflector works perfectly and also has more options than the System's AirPlay and is very stable and customizable.

Did a clean installation of 13.0 with OCLP 0.5.1 on my late 2012 13" MBP because the Logitech software couldn't find my mouse for the last year and I haven't done it for quite a few years and there were junk files hidden here and there.

Used the built-in OS downloader and I have to say it's very polished and intuitive, I didn't even have to apply the GPU patch after the installation. Took me a day to reinstall my apps and reconfigure, the system now feels snappier, especially wake from sleep. The bug I had in safari that couldn't load YouTube video is also fixed.

Hi. I have a Mid-2010 MBP. The OCLP page says that "Ventura support in development". So I'll be able to install Ventura on my old MBP later this year? Thanks.

Usually developers doesn't like too much such kind of questions
View attachment 2106601
Those requests come in usually several times a day on all channels (incl. private eMail and PM here and on Discord) to all developers and co-developers. It is SPAM. Normally you have to ignore it but once in a while you feel the need to explain why such a question is useless, wastes time, procrastinates the development only.

The same is true in some sense if experienced power users post here about successful installations on unsupported by Apple and unsupported by OCLP installations. It just shifts the level of expectation into the wrong direction and generates additional pressure on developers, again. The next wave of request flood in.

We would all win in general a lot if we got more (third party) application posts here, what is about Photoshop, FinalCut, XCode and similar, especially when used on pre AVX2 systems?

Yesterday a user requested to get an private email confirmation once his system will be supported.
