It happened to me with Monterey, but if you pay attention and try again, going back once or twice and selecting the Time Machine disk again, all of a sudden all Backups appear.
In practice I tried to go back, select the disk with the “Macintosh HD” snapshots and then I went back and tried to select Time Machine again.
You probably Time Machine it need to wait some time. (???)
Thanks, I'll give it a go and see how I get on!

Hello please any assist will definitely be of great help 😓. I’ve been on this for quite about a week now. Here,
I tried installing ventura on my unsupported mac mid 2012 (9’2) with OCLP. Creating the bootable drive worked all good. Until the time to reboot and press the option key. Here’s what i did after reboot.

I selected the efi boot option
It loaded and i erased my macintosh HD to prepare for the installation
I clicked the install Ventura. It goes on to the screen that says, macOS Ventura will be installed on the disk “macintosh hd”
It takes a while installing then it reboots but this time shows a “prohibitory” symbol (circle with a slash) then at the top left corner it shows “OCB startimage failed Aborted”

Please any help on what to do or fix. I also tried to install monetary and got the same OCB error. Is there something I’m doing wrong 🥺

Okay, i’ll have to reinstall the stock osx and upgrade it to atleast 10.12 to be able to do this.
If it’s no bother, can you please tell me what to do after selecting the model as you stated. 🙏🏼

No, stick with the normal settings generated automatically by the OCLP app (when running it on the target system). There is absolutely no need to change the SMBIOS or different things. Just make sure to have only a single recent OC version installed on your Mac (check internal disks, in case there is one delete it or replace it with the most recent OCLP generated version) and retry the installation.

Make sure to boot this new most recent OC by default, check the OCLP online documentation, do not deviate from the docs unless you are an experienced user.

I did these. Used OCLP 0.5.1 (latest) had no one installed as it was on an erased mac running osx 10.12. “Boot this most recent OC by default” that is from the applications folder right?

Plus I followed exactly all the steps highlighted by Mr Macintosh video on installation. Still no joy.

I gather this is 2012 MacBookPro9,2. It can run Catalina 10.15.7 (last supported OS).

Suggest you:
- reset to a known starting point, ie reinstall Catalina, run all available updates possible
- this will update firmware to correct latest version

- install newest OCLP (0.5.1), create USB installer for Ventura, build n install OCLP onto USB stick
- follow rest of OCLP guide, step by step, carefully

Okay will try this also. But when i do this, should i do a fresh install or an upgrade?

AirPlay and iMac 14.2 fixed and working
I just tried installing OCLP 0.5.2 Night Build and using SMBIOS Minimal Spoof and Ventura 13.0's AirPlay works now!

So, the “Mirroring Screen” from iPhone to Mac works and also the Chromecast playback from iPhone to Mac, of YouTube videos, works. Hurray!

I invite the Developers to introduce appropriate changes in OCLP standard settings so that it's not necessary to spoof SMBIOS for this purpose, so that AirPlay will work immediately even for newbies.

[Note: This post of mine is useful also to update my previous replies for @sl0wmotion and @digitalcan]

And if he has a new version of the OPCL? First of all, by hand. And then automatically. And let him make a choice.

What video card do you have?
I’m reinstalling os x right now. When it’s done i’ll check and post.

Don’t know if this helps throw more light but here it is,

I was using mac os big sur on the unsupported mac 2012. Used it for about a year then one day it just restarted while i tried changing tab color(accent) from settings > General. It rebooted and got stuck at the prohibitory circle slash sign 🚫. Had to restore it back to os x 10. Since then even when i install el capitan and siera 10.12 officially supported. During restart it shows the 🚫 then goes back to the apple logo and installs.

Do you think there’s something amiss and may be the reason I’m having issues installing Monterey or ventura 🤔.
Please advise.

It is better to reset nvram.
When turned on, press 4 buttons simultaneously until the second restart. OPT+CMD+R+P

Okay. Let me recount the steps to take again;
  • Reset nvram
  • Install OCLP 0.5.1
  • Change SMBIOS to minimal
  • Run build and install ventura (i’m using a 16gb flash drive)
  • Boot to efi and run ventura installation
All good?

Sorry, but you do not know what you are writing about. The SMBIOS settings has been chosen by developers to provide optimal support for particular hardware. This is not a wish list to pick arbitrary values from.

The iMacPro1,1 is needed in particular for systems with AMD Polaris and later cards (GCN4+) to provide DRM an VA support. It does not help on systems with different cards. You have an iMac with a AMD WX7100 (which is a Polaris+ card).

But you all free to do what you want, there is simply no support by the OCLP team. But you already found your own support team.

Good luck!

Reboot, uninstall / reinstall iStat, re-inspect all the background tasks (and disable those old unused ones), run Amphetamine to ensure it does not sleep unexpectedly, and now it runs more than 29 hours without crash. 🤞🏻
Will report how it goes a few days later if it still keeps running.
@sl0wmotion Hi, I'm also running Late 2012 Mac mini 6,2. Upgraded from Monterey to Ventura using OCLP 0.50, have since update that 0.51. My mini is on 24/7, never sleeps, but it has been hard crashing overnight, every night. Seems like exactly the same problem you are having. I can't figure it out, have you solved your problem?

PS: I am also running iStat 6.60, never thought it might the source of the problem - was it?
Also, how did you go about doing: "re-inspect all the background tasks (and disable those old unused ones)"?

Thanks.
