Hello, I've attempted to install Ventura on a 2012 13" MacBook Pro (MacBookPro9,2). Currently spoofing to a MacBookPro16,3 (2020 MacBook Pro 2 ThunderBolt Ports).

So far I've managed to "complete" install fully and am now attempting to boot said install. Unlike others I have seemingly got a different result. Instead of the device booting into internet recovery like most have said with my spoofs in place I've seemingly hung the system at nx_mount:1198: graft initialiizing cache w/hash_size.

Hope this helps anyone trying to get Ventura booting on Pre Haswell Machines

(and just for note I'm also giving Ventura a shot on a 2015 13" MacBook Pro (MacBookPro12,1)

According to the Intel spec sheet for the 4570R on the late 2013 i5, AVX2 is supported

Intel® Core™ i5-4570R Processor
Thanks for the infos but the command returns AVX1.0 for late 2013, 21,5' and 27' iMac Core i5 (4570, 4670) Haswell

iMac-27 ~ % sysctl -a | grep machdep.cpu.features

OK quick little update, the system rebooted again and is now hung at a different spot. This spot is libignition 1: graft: opened object: name = apticket.x86legacyap.im4m, type = image4 manifest

iMac Late 2013 21.5 Had a pretty vanilla OCLP on it. Don't think it actually even required any patches to run previously, Iris Pro graphics. Was one they could have just let pass as a supported machine as I never encountered anything weird or off with it.

Decided to just update to 0.4.6N yesterday and let Software Update run to see what happens. Woke up to a login screen. Appears to have gotten stuck after login with a window for the Bug Reporter not wanting to go away, decided I would shut off the network to it and restart to see what happened. Poof. Went away, so did the error message. No graphics acceleration, also reports it as a 30.5 inch display however I did some quick messing around and it behaves as well as anything without full acceleration does. Only setting I changed in OCLP is flipping the ShowPicker to N.

I have a few machines I mess around with that are running Monterey but was curious since this one really had the last number of patches, update went thru as normally as any I'd ever done on a supported machine has, maybe better. Lol.

Hopefully this helps the Devs.

This is the command in terminal to see if mac CPU support AVX2

sysctl -a | grep machdep.cpu.features

You'll get a report out like this:

machdep.cpu.features: FPU VME DE PSE TSC MSR PAE MCE CX8 APIC SEP MTRR PGE MCA CMOV PAT PSE36 CLFSH DS ACPI MMX FXSR SSE SSE2 SS HTT TM PBE SSE3 PCLMULQDQ DTES64 MON DSCPL VMX EST TM2 SSSE3 CX16 TPR PDCM SSE4.1 SSE4.2 x2APIC POPCNT AES PCID XSAVE OSXSAVE TSCTMR AVX1.0 RDRAND F16C

So MacMini late 2012 Ivy Bridge and iMac late 2013 Core i5 out off race at the moment ...

See above.

The late 2013 iMac, Haswell processor, supports AVX2

Mine booted no issue.

Whether it does or doesn't, mine booted no issue.

I was wrong with the command (Thanks to OKonnel)

Correct command is :

Code:
sysctl -a | grep machdep.cpu.leaf7_features

And yes it is ok with AVX2.0 on iMac 27 & 21,5 late 2013 Core i5 and ... MacBook Retina, 12, Early 2015

Currently with my macbook hoard i have 1 unsupported mac that has completed and booted the install, the MacBookPro12,1. No acceleration obviously but that can probably be resolved with Root Volume Patching like the 2012s on Monterey.

thanks for update, looking forward too 2015 13" Macbook Pro (12,1) Ventura graphics acceleration.

i would believe that if/when the 2012 can be made to run it that the root vol patching will just work, but since the 2015 never needed root vol patching before this it cant be done as of yet

Hi all,
I have got it! :)
Install on MBP 15" Retina 2013 Late (MacBookPro 11.3)
OCLP 0.4.5

But:
- No video patch in latest version of OCLP (waiting or may be can test)
- No scroll on touchpad but click works
- Sound good
- Wifi 5Ghz work :)

For install create install media with OCLP and OC with MBP15.1 spoofing :)
That's all. Still here for some information about Video :)
P.s. Slow on no GPU acceleration at all :)

Hi All, a newbie here attempting to upgrade my MacBookPro 11,5 to Ventura 13.0 beta 1 - if I have the download can I just go ahead and use it or do I need some patch firstly?
Thanks,
Rob
You need some patch, it is not ready. If you have literally no idea where to start I would recommend to wait until things have settled a little bit. The core development team is still working.

Reading the former posts might help if you can not wait.

Is there any hope for an early 2013 iMac its the 13,1 model with a I3-3225 (Ivy Bridge) processor and Intel HD graphics 4000? Also how do you spoof model numbers? I also wonder if this will be the way to install MAC OS on 2013 and older macs?

I am just hoping that my early 2013 iMac with a dual core Intel core i3 processor, 4GB ram, and 240GB PNY SSD Mac that is running OCLP for Monterey is supported with a new patcher it works so good on Monterey and would love to see it run MAC OS Ventura. I wish everyone good luck on these new patchers and can not wait to see all of these developers come together and do amazing work. I also tried to see if my 2014 MacBook Air would grab the new beta using over the air updates and it did not which I am not shocked by.
At this point I'm utterly stable using 12.4 via OCLP on my Late 2012 iMac. I'll assume that the OCLP geeks will at the very least support the 12.5 update for my system. While I'm curious about Ventura, unless I can get it to install AND enable Stage Manager, I'll just stay on Monterey until I can afford a new system. Monterey should be more than sufficient for at least another 12 months. 🤷‍♂️

Nice there's hopes for this machine, my main day to day used

@Larsvonhier why did you put a mad face in my last comment? I am asking a legitimate question don’t know why it needs a 😡 face and I did go back and read previous post about this Mac but none really answered my question which is why I asked it.
