It has an ATI Radeon HD 5670 (512 MB). This is the only real Mac I own. The rest are all Hackintoshes. The app seems to work fine, so it's really weird that the locator is the only thing that's missing. Maybe it's rendered differently since it's always moving during playback.
Hackintosh need to disable with virtual smc or fake smc the original smc. Till this is the situation are all macs are macs and hachintoshes are hackintoshes. Few years ago a friend of mine tried to boot a mac with a missing usb booting with clover. He was obliged to go customer assistance cause the machine just continuosly beep without booting cause bios was completely erased.

Sounds like an arbitrary way to define the line between Macs and hacks. I have a Windows PC that has ACPI and hardware components so close to a real Mac that it needs fewer Open Core patches to run macOS than most of the unsupported Macs that now rely on Open Core and OCLP post-install patches.

I admit that I was intentionally twisting the knife in what is for some a very sensitive subject. My statement was purely technical. Ultimately, a Windows PC hacked to run macOS was never a real Mac and that can never be changed.

Out of curiosity: Everysince updating to and with OCLP 1.2.0 TimeMachine Snapshots are not visible anymore in DiskUtility on this machine 9,2. Coincidence?

I'm running Sonoma 14.2 and still see APFS snapshots when I select View > Show APFS Snapshots in DiskUtility. Do you have this option?

Without fake or virtual smc you never boot an Apple OS on a pc. That's reality not sensitive. I know that pc hardware is in 85% cases better then real mac and also updated but believe when your mac is 11 years older and it goes on you are happy. Try to boot a pc with all the hardware connected to my mini in my signature in 30 seconds and all disposable.

I admire your courage. The first step is admitting it. 😂

Just don't tell anyone that our real Macs are now hackintoshes booting with Open Core EFI.

I won't – as long as you don't tell anone that you don't know the difference between a Wintel System and a Mac…

Does it work on any metal system? Just try to find out if this is the all photos tab of Logic Pro - which Apple seems to drop into any of their own software products to ensure metal compatibility of the hardware with some strange sense of humor.

A good and a bad new about OCLP 1.2.0 and Sonoma 14.1.
The good news
Icons on the menu bar no longer disappear when exiting sleep mode.
The bad news
I noticed that if external disks or USB Keys, formatted in JHFS+, are connected to the Mac (even if they are USB 3.1 or newer), Magik Keyboard, Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad DO NOT work at startup, for example if you need to access the EFIBoot utilities to enter recovery mode.
Likewise, the aforementioned bluetooth devices do not work on the screen where you enter your FileVault/Login password to boot the system.

I didn't find the problem in the lists of broken things. Is this a known problem that needs to be overcome or has no one noticed it so far?
Thanks

Tried to install 14.1 OTA, bogged, next a full download and then install from
USB, bogged..
Get the screen below, refreshes every ten seconds or so from the top, it normaollyt
scrolls down the screen.
Any suggestions, tried AMFI On/Off, PRAM reset, no result, same outcome.

Pretty sure it's something to do with Bluetooth.
Heard there were problems before with macs on Sonoma, didn't have this before until now.

The solution was to safe boot.

No problem here.

Way too much OT hackintosh discussion of late. o_O No offence but . . . .
You use an unsupported Mac now, because some guys, long time ago and not so long time ago, have started to hackintosh. Legacy Macs (5 near me and another 2 in the house) and hackintoshes (6 near me + 1 in the house) are my hobby, and believe me the difference is not so far.

OCLP v.1.3.0n is currently identical to v.1.2.0 except for the title. 🧐
That's what downloaded when I refreshed the build. I didn't dive into changes 🤷‍♂️

I've downloaded and built a custom version of OCLP that has the version incremented. I am now running with OCLP 2.0.
Nothing. That was my point (just like yours).
Appreciate the sarcasm instead of addressing the issues in my post 👏👍

Sorry but you missed the point. There are numerous venues for that discussion. :apple:

Try the proper SMC/NVRAM reset for that specific Mac. Here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201295 The last item. And here: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT204063 :apple: :apple:

Thank you, @Chiki Piki – that's a valuable hint. I also did a clean 13.6.1 install and the EFI firmware ist up to date now. Nevertheless, I am still a little exhausted from the return trip to Ventura :). Let's see what I read here about similar machines in the next few weeks ...
Five days later, the hibernation issue returned.
I can say that updating the EFI firmware didn't help.
I'm getting the popup window "Your computer restarted because of a problem." again on the 'Sonoma Horizon' wallpaper, (independent of the wallpaper or screen saver selected).
This happens after every reboot or sleep > 5 hours.
