A good and a bad new about OCLP 1.2.0 and Sonoma 14.1.
The good news
Icons on the menu bar no longer disappear when exiting sleep mode.
Missing icons on the Menu bar issue is back on 14.2 beta using OCLP 1.2.0 Release on my iMac 13,2
On the upside, Terminal command "killall Dock" still works though.

Oh well!

I just reported that
- the FaceTime on my MacBook Pro 2017, but it failed. Call failed again and again.
- the log screen issue on my MacBook Pro 2014, when login back to the system, all opened application has been closed.
Am I right channel to to report such issue on here?

So, I did another try on Sonoma on my MBP6,2 (the 7,1 will follow on the weekend) with OCLP 1.2

Two things I notice:

1) a lot of times the fans are coming up on the MBP6,2 - and when I have a look in Activity, I see, that "loginwindow" is doing high CPU-times. Anything I can do against this?

2) With Monterey the MBP6,2 worked great as AirPlay-receiver. With Sonoma, I'm not able to receive from my iPhone or iPad. Any hint, or is this an issue?

Thanks, and Cheers, Thomas

Yes, it's working fine on my Ivy Brigde Laptop (Intel HD4000), my Whislyey Lake Laptop (UHD 620) and my Comet Lake Desktop.

I took a screenshot and highlited the affected area:

It's supposed to look like this

So basically, the grid, the rulers, locators and playhead are missing. And the right-click menu doesn't work inside the cyan area as well, so I can't create MIDI regions for example
Never used this app before, but after a metal GPU upgrade Logic Pro latest (test version) seems to work. You can upgrade your single real Mac with a metal GPU to achieve the same result. Guess an older AMD GCN 1-3 type will do the job.

OCLP does not include a metal emulation. Guess all recent Apple apps have this little annoying metal rendering feature included.

Unfortunately, the FaceTime camera no longer works. "No camera found".

MacbookPro 11,5, macOS 14.1 (Not 14.1.1.) OCLP V1.2.0.
Here Facetime camera is ok and Continuity Camera as well. MacbookPro 11,5, macOS 14.1.1.) OCLP V1.2.0 with KDK_14.1_23B74. Everything's fine.

Notes seems to be OK on my rMBP10,1. What are you seeing exactly?
Hi rehkram. Well, the desktop kinda breaks. When it affected Notes only was almost bearable (quitting the app and turning off and on the display via active corners solved the issue), but when affected also Music or Photos, I just could reboot the system, see post #3022.
Furthermore, the overall use experience on Sonoma for me was much worse than Ventura. Now that I’ve reverted to it, I got back also a quicker boot, continuity camera, fan working much less. And of course Note is working well.
Ps: it was set a static wallpaper and no screensaver, also no widgets on the desktop.

Does this happen on the built-in display, and / or an external monitor? I have a Dell external monitor attached, Thunderbolt -> DisplayPort. rMBP spends most of its time with the lid closed. But I can open the lid and the internal display comes up and both screens are active and normal.

I'm running it with both GPUs available for dynamic switching. Starting 3D software like sketchup 2017 triggers switching to the nVidia GPU as expected. rMBP is running EFI firmware 429.0.0.0.0 - you might want to check that on yours with SilentKnight.

macOS 14.1.1 (23B81) with KDK_14.1_23B74.pkg works like a charm with newest 1.3.0n on MP5,1 | RX580 | 990 Pro NVMe - big hug to the OCLP Dev - Team as always ;-) 😍 looking forward for KDK_14.1.1_23B81 ;-) (MacMini's and MBP's also OTA from 14.1 as expected) Great Work OCLP Dev Team love it!

BTW little offtopic does someone know how is the "macrumors newbie" status forever ;-) - take care and happy patching...

OTA upgrade form 14.0 to 14.1.1 on my testbed MBA 7,2 went okay.

I did have to finish in Safe Mode, but unexpectedly the OCLP in /Library/Application Support/Dortania was not there so I had to go grab a copy off a stick to finish the Root Patching (no working wifi). Is this the norm when finishing via Safe Mode?

I had it one time on a MBP 7,2 ich have to patch with a wired lan connection so KDK etc. can downloaded then patch again my WiFi was back on track after patching with a lan connection! Only happend on a MBP 7,2 in my case!

Norm or not, it's best to keep a local copy of all OCLP versions downloaded (I have a hold-all "OSX" folder chock full of stuff - and it's backed up to an external disk too), just in case (as in that case).

I still have no concrete proof to substantiate this suspicion, but it seems to me that my macOS upgrades with OCLP go much more smoothly on my MBP6,2 when I maintain a wired Ethernet connection during the entire process. Since it is very easy for me to connect wired Ethernet, I'm no longer spending time testing whether wired-Ethernet is required - I just connect it for my upgrades.

EDIT: I should note that my Wi-Fi is a high-quality access point with outstanding coverage, so I don't think my observations have anything to do with poor Wi-Fi (although poor Wi-Fi connectivity would increase the need for wired-Ethernet).

Indeed. All I had to do was get up from my seat and walk over to the other Mac to grab 1.2.0, but I was just surprised it was missing from the Dortania folder in the first place. If my model had working wifi without the root patch I probably would not have even mentioned it. :)

I have a Macbook Pro late 2013. Runs fine with Big Sur. Will Sonoma work equally well? Or will I miss certain features?

Best if you do your own experiment, since your use cases may be unique and we have learned that each SMBIOS has different OCLP issues. Add an APFS volume so that you can experiment while retaining your working Big Sur. Read this.
