Mid 2011 iMac (Quadro K1100M) is updated to Sonoma and everything seems to work ok.
More life for this old machine :)
I'm considering using the k1100m in a Mid 2011 27" imac. You mentioned an issue with the camera, other than that have you experienced any other issues with Sonoma? Do you have any configuration recommendations for others that might attempt this upgrade?

@Ausdauersportler

iMac11,3 with 14.2 b3.

The crash logs I get are for:
  • bluetoothd (a lot)
  • ContinuityCaptureAgent (few)

Addition:
  • Apple Pages: can't export .pdf files. No file is created. Just noticed this in Big Sur. Does Metal handle this as well? I though Quartz composer (or whatever it's called) handles this.

After all the installation success stories:

Can you please check the Console app and the crash reports found there. I am quite sure not all frameworks, daemons and other drivers will work properly. Additionally real functionality checks of Apple apps would be interesting, i.e. can one import all pictures from an iPhone and does face recognition etc work. If you find crash logs there just find the IPS file (context menu -> show in Finder), compress it and upload the zip file. Please no word or rtf or other text file formats.

It is not necessary to confirm what we already know very well, i.e. non-metal Macs will simply never run metal apps.
Just 1 crash report on iMac 13,2 after approx 24 hours. Happened when using/closing down Photos app.
14.2 b3, OCLP 1.3.0 N (build f1210de)

Using photos on 14.2 beta 3 and latest OCLP 1.3 Nightly has returned the memories crash in photos again can be solved by using Gswitch to use the Nvidia on my MacBook or disabling automatic power switching , I think this was fixed in latest official release? on Sonoma 14.1 if someone would like to test,?. Apart from known issues I literally have nothing in my crash logs .

Thanks, I didn't ask for this either (with reference to my original posting). As I wrote, I have other Macs and the workaround on this specific iMac is to create a webapp of iCloud Photos instead.

The question was if others have encountered the Apple Photos problem with empty app window when clicking on a thumbnail and if there are any known stettings or fixes for it for now.
yes same thing on my imac from 2011

I used OCLP 1.2.1 to do a clean install of Sonoma 14.1.1 on a 2013 MacBook Air 6,2 1.4GHz i5 with an Intel 5000 GPU. It works pretty well—this is my first OCLP installation, so I'm amazed that it works at all—but I'd like to report a problem with sleep.

When I open the MBA lid in the morning, I get a black screen. Pressing the spacebar doesn't wake it. I have to press the power key, after which I get the Apple logo as if the laptop's restarting, and shortly after that the login screen comes up. From there I can log in normally.

I've seen other reports of sleep issues in this thread, so this is one more. The only other item of possible interest I can add is that I enabled disk encryption during the setup. I don't know that it has any bearing on this bug, but I thought I'd mention it.

Thanks for sharing. I disabled sleep mode and password prompt after screensaver/sleep mode. These measures avoid the graphical bugs that still exist after sleep mode or when the lock screen requires the password. I hope the devs are working on this. During my work day, I turn off my display with an active corner when I leave my desk. And when I leave home, I shut down the machine so that it is password-protected in my absence. It's a workaround I can live with.

MBP11,1 14.2b3, 1.3.0n latest:
- just one type of crash report (see below). Happens when system settings open and showing the larger user photo. Doesn't happen when using a proposed classic symbol instead of photo - probably was mentioned earlier in this thread.
-- (edit: also happens with 14.1.1 / 1.2.1, just didn't realize before)

- no problems importing from iPhone to Photos, including one Life photo.
- bluetooth not connecting to other devices and not connectable from outside (not relevant for me).
-- (edit: also happens with 14.1.1 / 1.2.1)

I've noticed, there's a hidden App installed in the programs folder called "News":

Sonoma 14.2 beta 4 23C5055b installed ok on my iMac 13,2
Root patched using OCLP 1.3.0 Nightly (build f1210de). So far no problems.

Thanks! Okay, my test was more exhaustive and I am using a non AVX2 iMac12,2 with AMD metal 2 GPU:

Tried to load approx. 9000 pictures and it stuck on all the runs on different but similar systems at approx. 10GB of data and 3000 pictures. The import works on all Ventura versions. Let us update to the next B4.

It’s been on the Mac too since macOS 10.14 Mojave, but only shows up with the right regional settings.
Naaah, its always there but hidden in a few regions. Open Finder>Applications then shift cmd dot to make invisible files visible. Use a VPN connection to the US to get it to work properly.

I know. But selecting the right region also unhides it, as I said in my post.

Sleep mode is still broken. I have put off screensaver, changed my battery settings, set normal standard wallpaper. I dont put my mac to sleep.✌️

14.2 b4 working on iMac11,3 patched with OCLP 1.3.0

ISSUE: Bluetooth does no longer work

That's probably the reason for the huuge amout of errors for bluetoothd. Because it generates about 3 error logs per minute.
Bluetooth works now in my case (MBP11,1 14.2b4, 1.3.0n latest). Using a bluetooth headset to hear music.
What I did is in system settings / bluetooth, "ignore" this device which was already visible but couldn't conntect to.
Afterwards, mac found the device again, and connection worked. Disconnect / connect again also worked.
No logs for bluetoothd btw.

I love Sonoma on my MBP 2015 13". Only real issue I face is battery life. It's really weak, like half or even less then I get with the last supported version of MacOs (Monterey).

Does anyone know a fix for this? Or should I just keep it plugged in and be happy that my 8 year old laptop is rocking Sonoma? :D (I had the same issue in Ventura as well, both on clean install and "dirty" OTA update install).
