I think it goes Back to the bad old days of machine cloning forcing Apple to kick the cloned machine and donor off their Servers and the habit of hiding the S/N prevailed. So, I was wondering, why people blank the Mac's serial n;umber in screenshots? I've never don e mine because as far as I know it's just an identifier for apple as to whether or not apple care is still good or not. So that's why i never cover mine up because there isn't anything anyone can do with it as far as I know.

Hello rbart,I don’t understand why people continue to try to install 14.4 beta.
We all know it’s not working until OCLP developers fix it!
Unless you are participating to dev, it’s a waste of time !
OCLP developers were perfectly aware of what’s broken with 14.4 and macrumors forum in not their way of taking feedback.Hello rbart,
I would not presume to speak for everyone who enjoys experimenting, but for myself it is an exercise in computer lore. Within the bounds of reasonable risks (probabilities of success or crash), on system(s) not used for mission critical endeavors, installing betas provides a unique learning experience. Not the least of those acquired skills, is the ability to recover from serious system failures with non-data destructive solutions.
When elements of serendipitous discovery are shared with users on the forum (not necessarily Dortania), it allows others to return their machines to operating status, or improve their functionality. In most fortuitous outcomes, the data might be very useful to actual OCLP developers. The “operating premiss” here is that, the more machines are tested, and results shared, the greater the chance to help resolve issues before formal release. Developers have a limited supply of computer models.
It would not be too much of an “overstatement” to say, that most involved in beta OS, or nightly OCLP experimental installations, know how to extricate their non-responsive systems from oblivion.
Different approaches are not necessarily lost time, nor exercise in futility.
In the spirit of camaraderie…
MBP11,1: 14.4b2 fine also here with latest OCLP 1.4.0n.Everything is now fixed, for macOS 14.4, in the latest OCLP 1.4.0 nightly build: absolutely great!

Only a FYI, of course: no need for most people to install 14.4 betas (but good to know that OCLP is now ready for macOS 14.4).
PRAM reset.Hello, thank you for your response. No I can't boot in safe mode, even with a USB key it doesn't always start the boot sound in a loop with a black screen. What do you recommend? thanks in advance. Sincerely
hello thank you for your answer I reset the PRAM and the SMC but the iMac continues the same remains in a loop with the starting sound and black screen I see nothing and can do nothing.Sincerely@wolf1734 With respect; did you google to perform a PRAM reset, and how to enter verbose mode?
It’s not difficult to find.
In fact, I found the solution. The developper say : "Note with 14.4: Auto-Join may not work until you forget and rejoin the network". So you have to "forget the network" first, than reinstall it with the password. And it works like a charm. No wifi connexion.
Hello and thank you.@wolf1734 Please repeat the installation with the OCLP USB drive in your Mac, Reboot with shift-key to the drive and repeat the installation as stated in the documentation. Do not disrupt the process and let it finish independently.
-reboot a last time and apply the Patch via de OCLP menu.
I searched this thread, seems like no has asked yet…..
Random fun question:
Has anybody tried syncing a Mac running OCLP Sonoma and the Apple Vision Pro?
If so, random curiosity, does it work?
(N.B.: Apple Vision Pro does sync and work with Intel Macs running Sonoma, so………)
