In fact, I found the solution. The developper say : "Note with 14.4: Auto-Join may not work until you forget and rejoin the network". So you have to "forget the network" first, than reinstall it with the password. And it works like a charm.
I think it can be useful for other users too!
Works great! Thanks!

Since Opencore-Patcher 1.4, my MacBook Pro is not able to log in with iCloud.
Apple ID password needs to be entered multiple times, and macOS does not accept it. There is no error code, but it doesn't connect.
I don't understand the reason why, because the password is ok, the network is ok, and it's a clean install of the latest official Sonoma version (not the beta).
Maybe it's a Opencore-Patcher bug?
Is anybody experimenting the same issues?
Thanks in advance for your precious help!

Hi.
I'm running Sonoma on a 2015 15" Macbook Pro. Its battery was swollen so I had it replaced with a 3rd party battery. The issue is that with the new battery it still shows Service Recommended but according to the tech the new battery is working fine. They tried different batteries so it doesn't look like a bad battery. Could it be related to having installed an unsupported macOS?

Do a NV Ram reset (OCLP Menu Space Bar) then try a SMC ram reset:

SMC reset on MacBook Pro, MacBook Air and MacBook

For very old models where you can still remove the battery, the reset works as follows:
  1. shut down mac
  2. Unplug the power cord from the Mac
  3. Remove battery from MacBook
  4. Press and hold the power button for about 5 seconds
  5. Reinstall the battery
For models with a permanently installed battery, the SMC reset is as described here:
  1. unplug the power cord
  2. hold down the following keys at the same time: SHIFT + CTRL + ALT + power

I just saw the two replies to my question about hiding the serial number. I wasn't aware of people cloning serials since I was never involved with that. As far as stealing serials, as far as I understand, you need specialized tools from Apple that only authorized service providers receive from Apple to modify the serial number on a mac's logic board.

So for me, it always just seemed the way to track a machine for warranty coverage and maybe to what apple ID it's connected with. I don't know, my machine no longer has Apple Care, so never saw any risk in just posting the full system info.
People with Hackintoshes can use a real mac serial number to spoof for imessage, facetime, etc.

Same issue in a new user account?

Assuming there is a special reason you need to use OCLP 1.4.0n with your setups and you can logon to iCloud using your AppleID without any problems using Safari:

Reboot in safe mode
Open console
Note time
Log out of your AppleID
Reproduce issue and login with your AppleID using SystemPrefs
Check logs for issue related entries at that point in time
Perhaps it might be an idea to have ActivityMonitor open to see whether there are any processes freezing in the background

Last but not least: Same issue with OCLP 1.3.0?

This sounds like a problem that first appeared with an OCLP Nightly back in September/October of last year and it looks like it's popped up again in the latest 1.4.0 Nightly.
The older Nightly first introduced a fix for the T1 security chip to enable Touch ID on MBP 13,2/14,2 but it inadvertently stopped the ability to log in to your Apple ID. The Devs pulled the T1 fix for a while and it eventually returned in OCLP 1.1.0 fully working.

I think we'll have to wait for the Devs to fix it.

Just got a mid 2010 13 inch macbook pro with a 512gb ssd and 8gb of ram, thinking about doing the oclp patch and sonoma, will sonoma work or better off with something other than sonoma. It has 10.9 on it now, so would have to likely do at least sierra.

Yeah I get it now. So I guess what you're saying is, me leaving my serial showing, on a real mac shouldn't be as big of a risk today as it was then, especially since this solution requires a real mac, and i don't think non apple Hackintosh support is even allowed on this thread, correct?

Might not be allowed in this thread but anyone can view this thread . This is more of a if you hide nothing could happen if you show it someone could use it.

Hello, can we do a total reset of the motherboard of an iMac 2010 without removing the battery, can this be done through the oval hole under the power socket at the back. Thank you all for your responses

After further investigation, I noticed that the issue is with the latest 1.4.0 version of OCLP (I mean : the one compatible with Sonoma 14.4 beta 2). If I use the previous version (F.e. Build wxPython #1418), I can log in to iCloud with my AppleID. So, what Calibre5 said seems true. It looks related with the T1 chip and keychain problem with the new OCLP version...

hello I have already tried this and it is always the same black screen and the start gong and this in a loop. what to do?
Out of curiosity: Does that iMac provide an external video signal after all? You could start it up in target display mode for instance.

Before you ask:

How to use target display mode

  1. Make sure that your iMac is started up and meets the system requirements above.
  2. Make sure that the other Mac is started up and logged in to a macOS user account.
  3. Connect the two computers using the appropriate Mini DisplayPort or Thunderbolt cable.
You can use more than one iMac as a display, if each iMac is using a Thunderbolt cable to connect directly to a Thunderbolt port on the other Mac (not the other iMac).
  4. Press Command-F2 on the keyboard of the iMac. You should now see the desktop of the other Mac.
  5. To exit target display mode, press Command-F2 again. Or disconnect the cable, or restart either Mac
Apps that were open on your iMac when entering target display mode remain open in target display mode. For example, if you begin playing music on your iMac and then enter target display mode, the music doesn't pause on your iMac.

It will all depend 100% on your use case.
But because your MBP does not support Metal Graphics, I highly recommend brining it up to Monterey.

FIRST, bring it up to High Sierra, since it's the last "Apple supported OS" for your MBP. This will allow it to upgrade to the most current firmware your machine supports.
THEN, using the OCLP methodology, bring it up to Monterey. Will be a very good functioning system. You can always go up from there but only you will know if Monterey will meet the requirements of your use case

I'm doing the Monterey version as we speak. I'm using my late 2009 iMac that has the oclp patch and Sonoma to type this now. Thought I read somewhere that the 2009 MacBook Pro had a possible issue with loosing keyboard and trackpad and now cannot find where I read that so decided I'd at least do Monterrey, since don't want to have to start over if it did lose keyboard and trackpad since they are kinds important on a laptop.

Yes, you lose keyboard and trackpad during the installation of macOS Ventura and macOS Sonoma, after applying the root patch after system installation, they work again.

I do not recommend any system above macOS Catalina for MBP 2010 or earlier models, as the Metal API is broken as of this.

Dosdude1 did an excellent job with the macOS Catalina patch, even AppleTV+ works on MBP 2010.

Other applications it is necessary to use pre-metal versions (MainStage, Garageband, Logic Pro, Final Cut pro), after macOS Big Sur these applications do not work properly, Big Sur is the last system that works well with these outdated applications.
