Not there, only via the Paradise, as stated within the docs and on Discord. 🧐
  1. Link adress doesn't work
  2. "You do not have permission to send messages in this channel."🤷‍♂️
  3. Can't find a way to give feedback anywhere

Discord is really - sorry - ******!

It would be great if you could make a video showing the order in which you have to click to get there. 🤗

Photos app always crashes on MacBooks with only one integrated graphics card when you click on Memories or want to edit photos taken in portrait mode is not mentioned anywhere in the OCLP issues on GitHub.
You are in the right place. It depends on how much work you are ready to do. If you only want to report like my quote above. You can do that on Support-1, Support-2 or Support-3. Use a Support that has no active discussion going.

If you want to help you read the whole documentation: https://dortania.github.io/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/START.html There you will find how to debug and when you have proper logs, you can file issues.

I am no expert. This is my interpretation of how this works after having used the support channels twice some years ago.

Thanks for the tip on Energiza. I am testing it now.

As somebody with a mid 2010 MBP, 14.3.1 works well. I get Window server issues like before, but I'm thinking it still has something to do with my external monitor/sleep 🤷‍♂️ I only use a external mouse (Logitech M705), but the trackpad has never not worked for me.

I stopped messing with OS betas a while back. OCLP betas have been fine.
What about losing the keyboard and trackpad during installation ?

I’m on 14.2.1 and OCLP 1.3.0 on a 11,4….all works well with the exception of every few weeks the screen goes black and I hear the fans running quietly in the background….i need to hold the power button to reboot.

The error log shows “windows server log in failed 2 times—panic”.

I saw there was a fix a few months back? Is this panic due to Microsoft office?

Hi, I have a MacBook Air 7,2 and it's running Ventura 13.6.3. I upgrade it from Monterey with open core legacy patcher with no problems. But when I want to update Ventura or upgrade to Sonoma, it doesn't work. The installation works fine, but when I get to the log in screen, every time I press a key on my keyboard the screen gets black for a few seconds. I used the new version of open core legacy patcher.
Has anyone the same problem?

Best regards

I'm currently still able to use Ventura/XCode 14.3.1 to publish apps to the Apple App Store. Starting April 29, Apple will require XCode 15 to publish apps. XCode 15 still runs in Ventura, so those contemplating the move to Sonoma for Apple development still have time.

This app was built with the iOS 16.4 SDK. Starting April 29, 2024, all iOS and iPadOS apps must be built with the iOS 17 SDK or later, included in Xcode 15 or later, in order to be uploaded to App Store Connect or submitted for distribution.

Is your dlstain for Discord in general or for the Paradise specifically? And why would developers direct users there if it wasn't useful? 🤷‍♂️

Good question. In general. I don't find it useful on any level. I played with it for a while before Dortania started using it, set up a group, made a few posts. Any alternative to FB was, I thought, welcome.

My background is career developer on integrated enterprise business s/w, and in my free time the support guy and .php & javascript developer on a special-interest packaged forum site still running strong since 2009

I have designed and built so many relational databases and the s/w to work with them it would make your a** hurt! ;). That's just me. I think I know bad data- and UI design when I see it.

I don't have the time to document what I regard as wrong with it; generally it starts with database design in such cases. As the old joke goes, it's nothing a total rewrite couldn't fix.

But this is off-topic here so I will refrain from leading it further down the garden path and get back to Sonoma on unsupported Macs.

A little thermal mod here, a little Sonoma there, and the "almost the best" (minus a meaningless 200mhz CPU bump) og Retina MacBook Pro 15" ever made is better than new! It's the last model of this generation made, with the M370X of 2015 and the CPU upgrade, just not the last CPU upgrade which mattered very little in benchmarks.

(yes I'm aware the PCH doesn't really need a thermal pad, but it still aids in passively dumping heat rather than ramping fans)

I also had this with macOS 14.2.1 - was the worst update from Sonoma for my MBP so far.
Since macOS 14.3 everything is ok; but I use 1.4.0n.👍🏻

I can only find the login window under the link...
Thank you, but the whole thing is just annoying me and I don't feel like it anymore. Of course you can also avoid feedback etc. that way.
I clearly agree with @rehkram about Discord - Discord is PITA.
Just give yourself a name and proceed. Over 44,000 users have gained access. Near 2,000 are currently on-line, now.
EDIT: Queried - https://downdetector.com/status/discord/ and apparently Discord is experiencing some issues with new users among other problems. Have patience?

When you created the OCLP installed, did you make sure to select the machine type it will be installed on in "Settings"?

By default OCLP will detect the system you are currently running--if that's not the same as the destination it's not compatible.

I agree Discord is probably the worst place for a support forum or give feedback to developers.
I hate discord …
But it’s OCLP developers choice …
No one forces us to use OCLP, it’s free and super useful.
It’s unfair to complain.

I guess those thermal pads make contact with the back cover?

Was easily able to log into the Discord OCLP Paradise this morning without issues, apparently doing so is over the heads of some here? ;)

I've noticed these off-topic excursions usually start during a lull between new macOS public releases, often followed by an accompanying OCLP public release. It's the "nothing else to talk about" syndrome. When is the 14.4 public release due, anyone know?

After the RCs are released. Maybe another Beta, as well? 🤷‍♂️ And how is encouraging enthusiasts to follow OCLP docs, OT? ;)

wondering if it is possible to do an OTA update of Sonoma on my mid 2010 MacBook Pro? I have heard the keyboard/trackpad issues have been resolved in oclp 1.30

I don't have a 2010. - For my 2009 MBP5,2, the situation is as follows.

- Don't use 14.4 betas, even external keyboard+mouse (and some of the graphics) don't work yet.
- Upto 14.3.1 works, but the machine needs an external keyboard+mouse connected via a USB hub, during installation from USB Installer and for the booted OS until the root patches are installed. Then internal keyboard+trackpad work. This is the case for all Sonoma versions (and if I remember correctly already for Ventura), and is due to missing USB1.1 support by Apple.

At present I always use OCLP 1.4.0n, but I think 1.3.0 is fine for upto 14.3.1. Have a look at the changelog in the OCLP github here https://github.com/dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher/commits/main/
