I upgraded my rMBP, mid 2012, i7 and all is working except for Freeform - the app loads, but it does not show the saved sketches anymore.
Same rMBP on Sonoma 14.4 and OCLP 1.4.1 and Freeform is working. Do not use it much but it appears to be working.

MBP4,1 Early 2008 on macOS 14.3.1 via OCLP 1.4.x
Auto Re-connect WLAN issue: Auto re-connect to known networks can't be activated in system control panel WLAN. Resulting in the following error message: Extension process WLAN(1085) exited.

14.3.1 on this machine is significantly slow, 14.3. and earlier versions of Sonoma were faster than Ventura and Monterey.

Is there something to be done about the above described error?

For bluetooth problems,
This has worked for others and myself to get bluetooth back.
Download Ben Baker's Hackintool.app.
Use the app to edit NVRam (in tool bar) directly.
Look for these/any entries:
bluetoothExternalDongleFailed
bluetoothActiveControllerInfo
bluetoothInternalControllerinfo
Delete each line (using minus button at the bottom of the window) of all BT entries, and wait for the NVRam to refresh itself.
If any of the entries (bluetoothExternalDongleFailed) should come back with values, repeat deleting the entries.

For many bluetooth worked again when the above steps were performed.
Bluetooth settings will show all previously paired devices, and auto connect to them just as before the update.

No Restart Needed.
Hi thanks for the reply I’ll let you know how I get on

This works for me:
Steps (follow at your own discretion)

  1. Disable iCloud, reboot, enable, and try. Then
  2. Open "Keychain Access"
  3. In "View", enable "Show Invisible Items"
  4. Search for "Auto Unlock"
  5. You should see a whole bunch of application passwords for "Auto Unlock: XXXX's ..."
  6. Select all records and delete (this will reset/disable auto unlock on other Macs if you use multiple Macs)
  7. Whilst still in "Keychain Access", search for "AutoUnlock" (no space)
  8. There should be 4 entries for "tlk" "tlk-nonsync" "classA" "classC"
  9. Select 4 records and delete (don't worry if they re-appear, the system repairs this automatically)
  10. Open "Finder" and navigate to "~/Library/Sharing/AutoUnlock
  11. There should be two files "ltk.plist" and "pairing-records.plist"
  12. Delete both files
  13. Reboot
  14. Unlock your iPhone and watch. Open "System Preferences" and try enabling auto unlock. You may need to enable it twice, the first attempt will fail.
I also had to enable it again on my other systems. I did that and it started working on my OCLP system.
That doesn't work for me. He tries to unlock the Apple Watch briefly but it doesn't work and then wants to have the fingerprint or pin

Hi there!

Please help with Touch ID activation! Is there any working solution? I have MacBoookPro 13,3 with OCLP 1.4.1.
Touch ID works fine on Monterey but not in Sonoma.

Updated rMBP 10,1 2012 OTA from macOS 14.3.1 + OCLP 1.4.1 to 14.4 + 1.4.1 with no issues or hangs. Fans are quiet after the usual first login activity. OCLP auto-prompted to reapply patches and reboot, no problem.

Looking good, many thanks to the devs, onwards and upwards.

So you have no problems with wifi auto reconnecting after waking from sleep ?
If you have an Apple Watch can it unlock your rMBP10,1 ?

No problems with sleep. Well occasionally it will act up. I just reboot.

I don't use wifi much at all. I ran CAT 6 ethernet to everywhere necessary around the house and plug into a switch connected to the nearest wall plate. Much faster.

I don't use the watch 8 to unlock the unsupported rMBP 10,1 at all. It hasn't worked since I first tried it after getting the watch in September last year. I do use the watch to unlock the supported Mac mini.

So neither of those are in the list of use cases for the rMBP

1.4.2 👍🏻

Repository: dortania/OpenCore-Legacy-Patcher · Tag: 1.4.2 · Commit: e494906 · Released by: khronokernel

WARNING 1: Do not upgrade to macOS 14.4 if you have a non-Metal Mac

macOS 14.4 is currently unsupported with Macs equipped with non-Metal Graphics Cards, see macOS 14.4 non-Metal sessions bug #1125 for more information. Affected Macs:

  • MacBook5,1 - MacBook7,1 (Early 2008 - Mid 2010)
  • MacBookAir2,1 - MacBookAir4,x (Mid 2008 - Mid 2011)
  • MacBookPro4,1 - MacBookPro8,x (Late 2008 - Late 2011)
  • iMac7,1 - iMac12,x (Mid 2007 - Mid 2011)
  • Macmini3,1 - Macmini5,x (Early 2009 - Mid 2011)
  • MacPro3,1 - MacPro5,1 (Early 2008 - Mid 2012)
Affected GPU Models (click to expand)

WARNING 2: If upgrading to macOS 14.4, you MUST install OCLP 1.4.2 beforehand.

A lot of hardware, including Metal GPUs, WiFi cards, T1 chipsets, etc have new patches made for macOS 14.4. We highly recommend installing OCLP 1.4.2 beforehand to ensure a smooth update.

WARNING 3: Upgrading to 12.7.4, 13.6.5 or 14.4 may break Auto Joining WiFi Networks on legacy Wireless Cards

To restore Auto-Join support, forget the network and re-add it.

This only applies for legacy WiFi cards, included with the following models:

  • MacBook5,x (Early 2008 - Early 2009)
  • MacBookAir2,1 - MacBookAir3,x (Mid 2008 - Late 2010)
  • MacBookPro4,1 - MacBookPro7,1 (Late 2008 - Mid 2010)
  • iMac7,1 - iMac12,x (Mid 2007 - Mid 2011)
  • Macmini3,1 (Early 2009 - Late 2009)
  • MacPro3,1 - MacPro5,1 (Early 2008 - Mid 2012)

With the release of OpenCore Legacy Patcher v1.4.2, this build is primarily targeted for macOS 14.4 and all Macs to ensure proper functionality. Over 1.4.0 and 1.4.1, 1.4.2 resolves Auto Join for WiFi on modern Wireless Cards, legacy WiFi support for 12.7.4 and 13.6.5 and a USB 1.1 regression for macOS Ventura.

We hope everyone enjoys the new release!

As to be expected, macOS Sonoma support is still in active development. This is a community-driven project, and as such we ask users to keep expectations in check and use older OSes if you encounter issues that affect you.

hi professsionals,

i'm not sure if this is the right thread, but i hope i may post the following question:

thanks to oclp i've now a working sonoma system on a 2013 macbook pro. additionally - like on my former system - i now was trying to configure bootcamp and install windows 11 on a second partition. but i just succeeded in installing windows 8.1 - even upgrading this nice working os to windows 10 or 11 didn't work (i have a patched, with rufus generated installer that overcomes the latest windows 11 hardware requirements and so on). there were always - at one of the last installation steps (after some necessary reboots during installation) - blue-screens that - after rebooting again and trying to finalize the installation - prevented a successful end. in my first attempts i tried to install windows 11 and then 10 right from the beginning, but also then i had these annoying blue-screens short before a succesful complete installation. as mentioned before, i had a nicely working bootcamp system on a different ssd - just with big sur as primary and windows 11 as secondary os. the only difference in hardware to now is just the new ssd. and in software the new os (sonoma vs big sur) has someone here any suggestions how to solve this ...?

THANK YOU!

OCLP 1.4.2 fixes both the issues.

I have upgraded my WiFi/BT module to Apple BCM94360CS....that gives me ~ 900 mb/s sustained connections with all my 802.11ac devices on the LAN and to 1gb/s broadband. Occasionally I see ~1200mb/s connections with MacPro's WiFi. Plenty fast enough for my needs.

I have been using Apple Watch unlock feature since last August. Very handy usage model for not having to remember my complex password. It had been working fine till macOS 14.4 update but now fixed by OCLP 1.4.2.

Watch still not unlocking the rMBP 10,1. I followed Apple's directions. The rMBP 10,1 is still on the original combi card, a BCM4331 802.11a/b/g/n

Since the Mac lives on my desktop and the house is wired ethernet I never had a compelling reason to swap it out, and when I do turn it on it works fine. I may update it one day soon, but priority 1 is fighting "The Battle of The Bulge", a new battery.
