Yes, your MBPro is a supported graphics card to upgrade to Sonoma (supported by OCLP, anyway)
Perhaps you are not following the steps to make your bootable installer, including adding the OpenCore EFI partition.
If you need a slightly newer version of the OCLP app now, you can get the current nightly build of OCLP quite easily here . (click on the link GUI (Graphical Based App) to download that nightly build, which is currently version 1.4.3)

The oldest Mac I am currently using is an early 2008 iMac, with Sonoma 4.3.1 I am waiting for OCLP to support next update to Sonoma 4.4.1 (which I predict will be released ASAP, due to the various issues that have been reported with Sonoma 4.4), but wait for a OCLP release that claims to add support for non-metal GPUs, if you like. But, OCLP should support your MacBookPro10,1 now, as it does have a "metal" GPU.
What is the actual error that you get when you try to install with the current OpenCore version?
Are you just running the Sonoma installer app while booted to your present system? or, are you booting to the Sonoma installer

Hardware Requirements:
Sonoma will likely require at least 25 GB of hard drive space available and will be most compatible on these models of Macs:

iMac (2019 and later)
Mac Pro (2019 and later)
iMac Pro (2017 and later)
Mac mini (2018 and later)
MacBook Air (2018 and later)
Mac Studio (2022 and later)
MacBook Pro (2018 and later)

Accordingly, the following models capable of running macOS Ventura will not be able to be upgraded to macOS Sonoma:

2015 MacBook Pro
2015 MacBook Air
2017 MacBook
2017 iMac
2015 Mac mini

Short Answer is your MacBook is too old and not compatible with Sonoma
My MacBook Pro 11,5 from 2015 runs Sonoma, as you can see in my signature:

Apologizing for opening this can-of-worms.🙅‍♂️
No apology necessary. Your post is a good one to alert us of the issue for potential new Mac purchases (not because OCLP-patched Intel Macs are to be perceived as more valuable). I have corrected my post here which claimed that Apple released a 'no-harm-done' statement. The Apple statement I had quoted was for a different M1 architecture flaw (yes, there's more than one). Take a look at this paper to see who funded the study that found the Apple m-series DMP flaw. It usually takes a lot of resources at significant expense to test and find such flaws.

The paper on DMP is interesting reading, esp. for a person like me who didn't follow architectures closely for a loong time (since M68k and INMOS Transputer times!)

Have you followed this thread? More to the point, do you know what OCLP is?

I have an MBP 10.1 mid 2012. i7 4-core, 16GB ram, 750GB ssd. Running Big Sur very well.
I want to upgrade to Sonoma 14xx with the help of the latest OCLP, alas it doesn't work. The graphic cards are not compatible and
OCLP 1.4.2 does not resolve the issue. If anyone could advise me, I would be very happy.
You said you ran OCLP, but HOW exactly did you run it? Perhaps if you give details of the steps you followed, one would see why OCLP didn't work for you. Did you create the OCLP USB installer, did you use Option to select the installer, at what point did OCLP fail? Et cetera et cetera. As others have said above, your MBP10,1 is supported for upgrade to Sonoma, using OCLP (properly). There are guys here who are running Sonoma happily, on MBP4,1 from 2008.

Edit: @DeltaMac had already said much the same thing above. My bad.

I've noticed that since Sonoma 14.4 the focus modes no longer synchronize 100% with the iPhone and Apple Watch. Sometimes activating or deactivating a focus mode on the iPhone and Watch also syncs on the Mac, but sometimes not. I've noticed that this happens more often with the sleeping focus mode. It simply doesn't deactivate on the Mac after deactivating it on the iPhone and Watch when I wake up. Does anyone know if this is an OCLP 1.4.2 issue or a Sonoma issue in general? Does this happen to anyone else?

Had my mid 2014 pro on for 7 days now plugged in because the battery is knackered but it hasn’t froze once (see lots of posts about crashing after a some hours) but I haven’t experienced any issues so far on 14.4 with OCLP 1.4.2.

macOS 14.4.1 installed OTA atop 14.4, OCLP v.1.4.3n runs as expected.

I used OCLP 1.5.0 (which I had installed before it was pulled), upgraded to 14.4.1 using the full package (not the minimal OTA). After booting up and applying OCLP post patches, things are holding good.
