Yes, this was a clean install. Are you using the patcher from before the KDK-less change? To my understanding, the graphics stack was changed in this commit.

Have used both requiring KDK and after without haven’t really had a problem on both at the moment with latest commit maybe 96% of the weather app shows then a black bar across the bottom, going full screen brings back the other 4% and it’s fine any sized window after that.
Update : latest update to opencore gets rid of black bar issue all working fine.

First kernel panic ever with Sonoma beta 5 and OCLP 0.6.9n (the first KDK-less one, with 66 commits ahead of main), on MBP11,3: Photos freezes, with distorted colours (mainly green and pink) in some or all of the image previews; and also FaceTime previously crashed in a similar way (Nvidia Kepler graphics-related, perhaps? there’s a com.apple.GeForce item in the panic log, among others)…

Dear @Marfan-58 you are an Angel :)
Thanks for good news!

But do Continuity Camera, Live Text, Remove Background and Stage Manager also work well?

Unfortunately in this period I'm busy with a transfer and I won't have time to rehearse; but it consoles me a lot to follow the Forum and update myself, waiting for the official version to come out. At that time, time available or not, I will do my best to install Sonoma provided that Apple, in the meantime, has not modified and blocked the new System, nullifying the work that the OCLP Developers have done so far…

Until then, I'd say I should stick with macOS 13.2.1 with which my 2013 iMac 14,2 runs just fine and almost as good as the 2020 Intel iMacs. :)
Hi OKonnel. Just done a quick check of my Sonoma install and I can confirm that Continuity Camera, Live Text, Background Removal and Stage Manager are all working fine.
I also checked my 13.5.1 system and these features all work here as well. Maybe give the latest release a try?
I should add that both systems are booting and patched using OCLP 0.6.9n Sonoma branch.

Immediately solved, in the latest Sonoma 0.6.9 nightly (which also has a new, cool GUI for the built-in macOS downloader), with this commit:

Thanks again to the devs…:)

in the latest updates of OCLP sonoma development (from August 18 onwards), on imac 12.1, the installation/update of opencore basically doesn't go ahead after having just started, as in the image, it crashes... you have to install opencore (always the sonoma development version) from the main partition with Ventura by selecting the efi partition of Sonoma

Quick report as FYI:

I am using Sonoma public beta as a daily driver since a couple of days now, mainly with stock apps. Can't report any issues, but a few minor ones: Some widgets won't display content as expected. Sometimes Safari seems to freeze trying to scroll on one particular webpage, while it works in another tab without any issues. Other than that, even SSD speed is a bit higher than it was in Ventura.

The empty widgets and the frozen screensavers are known bugs in Sonoma beta5 regardless of OCLP.
Work in Progress.
It's the same issue since Ventura on this machine. Not a problem, I was just wondering whether there is a quick fix. Let's see what beta 6 does in this case.

Updated to beta 6 removing patches about 1.54gb download. Rebooted got stuck at the login screen (I think due to having the Sonoma wallpaper download) forced restart, patch running as good as beta 5 no widget issues or screensaver issues on mid 2014 MacBook Pro using latest OCLP nightly work without KDK. Excellent work by the Devs holding up in beta 6.

Same experience in my cMacPro 4,1>5.1 upgraded via OTA.
Beta 5 OCLP Old patch seems to work for Beta 6
No problem with widgets here
Great!

Sonoma Beta 6 installed just fine on my MBP12,1. After applying the root patches though, I am stuck at this screen. What’s interesting here is it is booted up all the way and working in the background, just nothing on the display other than this.

Yes, running the latest version of OCLP 0.6.9n
I mean the 0.6.9 nightly sonoma version to be found in the sonoma branch somewhere. I preciously downloaded the latest version from frontpage which did not work in my case and caused the same „stuck in boot issue“

it might be just a glitch, its working fine here other than a lag loading new wallpaper, not a fan of it really.
