It appears to me that NVidia Tesla graphics is still not supported by OCLP for Sequoia 15.4 Beta. I tested OCLP 2.2.0 and the latest 2.3.0 (which has no non-metal improvements over 2.2.0) and both result in booting 15.4 Beta 2 to black screen. No worries - I'm sure this will be fixed in time for the 15.4 release.

Maybe the NVidia Tesla issue will be resolved when KDK 24E5222f is posted and available for OCLP download?

Same here with MBP5,2. The KDK yet to be tried.

KDK fetching is automated by github-actions to pull from Apple every few hours without the devs having to do anything, so don't use those as an indicator for anything. Unless there are actual commits, then things are still in process.

@Neon Ball Thank you for clarifying. I was simply stating that the 24E5222f KDK is not yet available from Apple at the time of this post.

EDIT: Maybe you're saying that OCLP's use of 24E5222f KDK will not fix the 15.4 Beta blackscreen. No worries - we'll patiently wait for updates in progress. Thank you for everything you're doing.

With Late 2015 17.1 Skylake I can boot 15.4b2, until I patch at OCLP's request then it is the black screen, if I go to safe mode and revert patches, it boots again, and then when patches are applied ---black screen--.

Hello to all,

Much as reported by other posters, Mac OS 15.4 beta1 installation was problematic. In my case for both iMac 13,2 (2012) and MacBook Pro 5,2 (2009 vintage). While installations succeeded with OTA method for 15.4 beat1, build 24E5206s, (original release), I could only boot successfully while in safe mode, whether on iMac or MacBook Pro. Patching would result in an un-bootable machine secondary to Window Server crashes (on both machines), and loss of Bluetooth connectivity. For 13,2 iMac the only viable procedure to restore Bluetooth, when booted into another fully working system, e.g, Sonoma, was to perform SMC reset. External keyboard and mouse were required to allow login (due to loss of Bluetooth connectivity).

iMac 13,2 :
Attempt to use System Recovery to reinstall OS 15.4 beta1 resulted in “com.apple.buildinfo.preflight.error error 21” message, which blocked re-installation of OS. The error message was indicative of possibly corrupted or incompatible previous installation. I found the Network to function without issues. The only recourse with original beta was to erase the disk and reinstall 15.3.1, then OTA 15.4 beta1; this necessity was rendered moot when revised beta2 was released by Apple.

Sequoia 15.4 beta was reissued(?) with new build number macOS 15.4 build 24E5222f. This update was not available through Software Updates in system settings for either machine, but full installer was available for download via OCLP’s “Create macOS installer” function (revised beta2 was available OTA, via system update, for silicon Macs).

Downloaded the OS 15.4 beta2 and created USB thumb drive installer. Subsequently booted into the USB drive and installation proceeded without issues. System booted from target SSD external drive and was patched with OCLP 2.3n but, as reported by others already, OCLP 2.2 also works. Rebooted smoothly into fully operational Sequoia 15.4 beta2 build 24E5222f. There should be no reason for application which functioned under 15.3.1 to fail under 15.4 beta2.

No problems or rogue processes noted with system operation or on Activity Monitor, respectively. It would appear the new beta release remedied problems created by original beta1 software.

MacBook Pro. 5,2 (reference for NON-Metal machines)
While I could boot in safe mode under 15.4 beat1, build 24E5206s, the boot fails after installation of macOS 15.4 beta(2) build 24E5222f, resulting in black screen, apple logo, and 1/3 completion of progress bar. Trying to boot in safe mode results in grey screen but, surprisingly, with fully functional trackpad cursor and keyboard backlight; potential indicators of Widow Server crash(?)

Hope this may be of help.

im currently running 15.3.1 with OCLP 2.3.0 Nightly on my Late 2014 MacMini 7,1 without issue.

ive been browsing the recent posts and don't think ive seen anyone post about 15.4 beta 2 running successfully on it yet. before I take the dive, any yay's or nay's for the 2014 Mini?

upgraded my Late 2015 iMac 16,2 to 15.4 beta 2 without issue using OCLP 2.3.0 Nightly successfully.

I have installed the latest system on my imac late 2015 27“ and it was very good usable. After getting my new m4 mini i have done the conversion to a display by adding the controller board at the empty place of the HD, but i had to disconnect the display of the imac. I have Disable Firmware Throttling on the oclp menue, but when i start up the imac using an external display it is hard to use it. It takes more than 5 min. to startup. When using the mac it is no longer responsive. Is the Disable Firmware Throttling working or do i have to manually install some keckst?
