i have a 13 inch macbook air and my red dot on the notifications symbol is also on the left side

some menu bar drop downs are aligned now

Did you guys notice that beta 2 is just one build ahead of beta 1? Isn't this awkward? When it comes to updating to beta 2, it downloaded it once and then started over. 20GB download for one build ahead, dunno what Apple is doing.

Update: It just got installed, don't see anything changed. The bugs I have reported are still there as well. Immediately after the update completed, I saw the updated "Notifications" icon in the system preferences, with the high-quality version and the badge on the right, but it somehow reverted back to the icon which was present in beta 1. As I thought, with only 1 build difference, there seem to be no changes. I don't understand why they released it like that.

I can confirm one bug fix: Spotlight search works again!
Not for some. I have to against rebuild index via terminal. Alfred seems to have the same issue also of not being able to launch for a long time and possible restart

And they’ve forgotten to change to 11.0 again.

So I had 48GB free on my 128SD drive after beta 2 upgrade I have 32gb of data left?? What gives? Can’t find what ate up my space??

i have c and d drives, one is OS and one for data I split the fusion drive, so everyGB counts on my main is drives. Is there like a temp install folder they should be deleted?

The install files doesn’t appear to be cleared out.

I am missing about 10GB in space on my drive. I know that is the size of the update. I cannot locate the install file to delete so that I can get that space back. Anyone else?

I got the same issue , ate up my GB

Beta 2 and there's a noticeable speed increase on my MacBook Air 2018. The new notification centre and widgets are still a laggy mess though, really hope there is some significant optimisation to occur here.

Also, not sure if anyone else has this, but Spotlight refuses to appear on the menu bar even when selected in System Preferences. Weird bug.

imho it is not faster.
Anyway the Spotlight bug was also in Beta 1.
Deselect Spotlight and Reboot.

Also in the missing free space boat: went from ~75 GB to ~55 GB after updating to beta 2 (from beta 1).

Anyone know how I can resolve this? Im trying to update to beta 2..ive rebooted and reinstalled the beta profile twice..nothing is working...

2019 MacBook Air here. Did a clean install of Big Sur Beta 2. Just noticed that Battery received Service warning. Battery Capacity is showing 0. Anyone else?

I'm having problems with remote desktop software such as Anydesk, TeamViewer, VNC, etc. only the inbuilt screen sharing works.
Anydesk opens but when the connection is being made the app force closes, a weird error in TeamViewer while connecting and blank screen after a connection in VNC.

Also noticed that the welcome screen in adobe illustrator doesn't work i.e it shows a blank window upon the app start and the shortcut key for New illustration Cmd+N doesn't work anymore.

Anybody experiencing the same or have a possible solution for the same?

Does anyone have a workaround for updating apps from the App Store in Big Sur ?. The reload page is greyed out and has been since Beta 1.

CleanMyMac X is - somehow - able to see App Store updates and install them. It's happened a couple times. Most recently with the Speedtest.net app

This is a small thing, but anybody else extremely annoyed that the Handoff icon now appears in the middle of the Dock instead of off to the side? Every time is appears/disappears it causes the Dock to resize, and it's seriously distracting 😤
