macOS Big Sur (11.0) - Bugs and bug fixes

Does anyone else experience this issue with b7..... volume either unmutes (menu bar icon changes) without user intervention, or sound plays despite volume being muted (menu bar icon still show muted)

MBP 16" .... it's really frustrating. I was watching a YouTube video on mute and it just keep unmuting itself, id have to toggle mute on/off on Touch Bar to mute again, then 30 seconds later the same. Happens on other things too

Still happening, Beta 9. I've logged a Feedback but it says no-one else has. However, all my feedbacks say this, so I'm used to being ignored

I reported the latter; I notice someone has created a bugzilla thing letting Mozilla know that Firefox is messed up I'm assuming they'll track it with Apple. Fingers crossed.

Well, it was fixed in beta 8, and broken again in beta 9. Back to toggling on "Title Bar" to push the tab bar down a bit, after which it works.

Aaarrgh the VPN issue is back. They fixed it in beta 8, now in beta 9 the problem is back: Whenever I'm idle, the VPN is disconnected.

SMB is busted again for me. Was fixed in the previous beta after being busted in the beta prior to that.

for me SMS is working, im connecting to Windows 2016 Server and my old externet network drive, no SMS is slow, the the external Drive is AFP and NTFS i think?

PB9 is a mess. Media button on control strip is also stop working. Is there any way to roll back/install PB8?

I have massive issues with file shares. I'm on the latest beta. Initially, when accessing share - everything is fine, however, once you start to write to it hangs and disconnects and (!) all the network access hangs, including internet etc. The only solution is to reboot! This is just driving me crazy, I never had macos Beta with issues like that!

PS. And no, reloading SMB kext doesn't do anything. And yes, Catalina laptop and other windows machines on a network can access the same share just fine.

Photos no longer exports the Title field (as exif/iptc).

Weird - the photos I took today (same phone, same settings) are working. The old photos ... even if I export them, re-import them and re-export them again refuse to populate any IPTC field, even the date ones. I logged a feedback and uploaded one of the not-working photos. Hope it doesn't happen again, as I use the data.

I have zero issues on my 2015 late 5K iMac and I been going beta to beta to beta since 2016 updating over and over again lol with out major issues

Maybe I’m just lucky but never crazy issue where I couldn’t work on it and use it as my daily computer

YES, this is the only reference to this problem I've seen on the internet and it's driving me nuts. If I seek in a youtube video it will play with sound even if the computer is muted. I reported it, but it's been around for the last 2-3 betas.

Do you by any chance have a 16" MBP? I feel like it might be an issue with this specific model.

Happens across models. I have an Air.

Edit: Just checked the Feedback I logged a couple of weeks ago and it still says there's been no other reports. Big Sur and iOS 14 both started with Apple actually looking at Feedback requests. They stopped pretty quickly, unfortunately. However, this is such an obvious bug I'm sure they know about it; they've just not spent the time scanning the feedbacks for the relevant keywords.

YOU are part of the quality control since it’s beta. If you want to test upcoming software then this is normal behavior.

Same here, problems with smb, it connects yes, but it seems I cannot transfer files bigger than 67,1 mb, otherwise it hangs, then forced shutdown and...kernel panic...and compared to Catalina it's a lot more sluggish.

Beta 9 is fine in MacbookAir 2020 i7, no issue and works fine!!!
