| EDIT - probably my bad. I'd enabled some about:flags around core location api.

I upgraded to today's beta last night. Since then it appears geolocation in both chrome and safari is broken. It knows I'm in the UK and that's about it. Location services are enabled, and chrome and safari both have permission ..... Safari can show my location correctly, as can apple maps app. Google chrome? not so much .... No error,

Does anyone has this problem:

Installed Big Sur 11.0.1 as a clean install on my MacBook 12" (2016).

When configure the setup everything works, I could open Mail, and was able to send and receive mail. Now the Mail-app opens, but there is no single window. I can only close by force. I tried to delete mail-accounts, delete .plist and reinstall Big Sur again.

Anyone has a solution or do I have to wait for the final release next week? I doubt that will be a solution, since this is a common problem, but after months of beta's and testing, can't imaging it is still not fixed.

Solved: window was hiding, don't know where, but opening Mail with SHIFT solved it!

Hey guys!

1. This question might sound silly. Forgive my ignorance! I just wonder whether the background of the page when the macOS boots up (wherein the TouchID shows up) can be changed. I tend to assigned a new wallpaper to that.

2. Well, yesterday I changed the wallpaper to something that I had downloaded from the Net, today it got back to the default one when booting up my MBP!

"command+tab" and then "command+option" does not restore a minimized window (It was a Microsoft Word file)! Holy Cow!

In the bracket, does anyone know a keyboard shortcut in order to close the command+F function in lieu of clicking on done?

I encounter a small but annoying bug on last RC2. The birthday of each contact is one day later. I checked on Outlook.com and the birthday is at the correct date. It's very strange. My friend had my birthday recently when I was on RC and I remember it was the good day on calendar app so it could be a bug from RC2.

Anyone know if the "jump to definition" shortcut in spotlight was changed or just plain removed? It was cmd+L in catalina.

p.s: also posted this in "all the little things" thread

I'm on version 11.0 Beta (20A5384c) and I don't see a way to update, is that normal? Is it better to start from scratch with a fresh install anyway?

Guys, check your user agent of Safari when browsing internet. It’s still „10.5.6” 😂 Big Sur is a mess.

The Lock Message (the message that can be put on the user select screen from Security & Privacy) is off centre on Big Sur.

I've got a strange one in Messages. I've got a group chat with two other friends (we'll call them person A & B), all members using iMessage. In the group chat, when I send a message, it appears in both the group chat, as well as the chat for person A only. When both A & B respond to me, their message does not appear in the group chat, but only in that chat for person A. This is infuriating... having to read from the single chat for person A, but having to respond to them in the group chat (where their messages are not appearing). Anyone seen this sort of thing?

Found another bug:
- Siri keyboard shortcuts do not work. In the Siri options, if you select "Hold Command space" or "Hold Option space", neither work. The option "Press Fn (Function) Space" does work, as does "Customize" to set your own (including setting it to cmd+space or option+space)

And a lost feature that I would love to see re-added:
- In Catalina, I used to be able to Option+Click on the notifications button to enable "Do Not Disturb". This functionality seems to be lost and I now have to click Control Center, then Do Not Disturb, then the duration I want it for. This is now 3 clicks instead of one which is rather annoying.

I have hold command space for Siri, and it activates fine.

You can add DND to the menu bar, so it's one-click away.

on RC1 and bit confused

removed beta profile, settings->software update detects RC2.

tried just downloading from App Store, and it errors out

do I have to do RC2 ,to get to GM (non-RC)?

Hey guys. I have this annoying "problem" with Big Sur, which already appeared in Catalina.
Whenever I connect my iPhone XS Max (with 35k songs), it takes iTunes about 1-2 minutes to show my songs and Finder about 3-5 seconds to show my iPhone sync settings.
And when I open another window in iTunes (Apple Music, iTunes Store, my playlists, etc.) and want to see my iPhone songs again, it takes another 1-2 minutes to load.

This never happened in Sierra, High Sierra or Mojave, so it doesn't have to do anything with the amount of songs I have on my iPhone. I'm pretty sure this is a Catalina / Big Sur problem that appeared, when Apple moved the iPhone synchronisation from iTunes to Finder.

Anyone know how to fix this? This is the main problem why I downgraded to Mojave and won't update. I already sent Apple a feedback, but I don't think they'll fix it, since this already appeared in Catalina.

Launch Pad's Other folder is still losing part of its content every one and a while. You have to customise your Launch Pad to prevent that. I'm really confused about this bug, I already noticed in 10.15

Does anyone know how to get a "now playing" widget in Big Sur? I know I can click the menu bar icon to see what's playing, but I miss being able to swipe on my trackpad to invoke the slide over panel to view the "now paying" widget.

Hi Dennis, yeah i read the release notes (https://developer.apple.com/documentation/macos-release-notes/macos-big-sur-11-beta-release-notes/), but was not able to find where it was mentioned, or workaround recommended. Can you please point me to that section or any workaround for this issue?
Hello Lihaoethan, I know this is an old post, but did you ever find a workaround to the globalprotect issue? I'm now having the same thing after upgrading. Thanks in advance!
