If you have a disk connected to a USB hub or egpu enclosure it might take time for the disk to mount and it isn’t advisable to force mount it. So be patient. It will mount after a few minutes. Same issue last summer in early Catalina betas.
 
Anyone have problems with Finder on BigSur? I can't use it anymore. When I try to open a folder, finder crashes. Same for all the apps that need it.
 
Does anyone have a problem where badges only appear if the app is open. e.g. Mail As soon as I close it the red badge disappears and its enabled in settings?
 
That's the way it always worked. Mail or other apps only works when running. You can't use push notifications to check emails (well probably Apple could make it work for @iCloud.com, but not for everything else).

But on Catalina I can see I have 28 messages unread in Messages even if the app is closed, so the Mail app you're right about but Messages is now acting funny for me.

The same noise is called 'Glass' in some sound panes and 'Crystal' in others (e.g. Mail sound alerts choices and System Preferences sound pane). Another example is 'Submerge' vs 'Submarine'. Also annoying that three different sets of sound show up in Messages alerts, Mail alerts and System Preferences Sound alerts..

I can tell you that it hasn't happened to me yet, and for that I am grateful.

True, the message is "No available update found. Please try again later"

Does it mean, no new updates were released after the main one. Is there an webpage where beta releases for Big Sur are listed with dates?
 
I need help after upgrade I have a blank folder in my trash and I cannot remove manually or with CC or other programs it’s stuck in there!!
Has to be some permission error it tells me that it’s can’t be emptied and I can’t restore it or even drag it out of there.
Any hardcore command lines I can try?? I googled and found some but they didn’t work for me. It’s a blank folder with nothing inside of it in my trash no idea where it came from but it’s there after upgrade??

Boot into safe mode and delete it? I think I've always managed to empty trash by using "rm -fr" in the ".Trash" folder, but do make sure the "cd" command worked before running "rm" like that :)

yes the asdsads is the name of the empty fodler stuck there, i tried to rename to see if it helps and i get this erro? i tried everything from safe mode, to this?

People keep deleting their "zz" folder, but the error that fixes is "Unable to check for updates - Failed to download the documentation for the minor update. Please try again later”. You have to have that *exact* message for that fix to work.

For everyone else with the more generic message, just wait for beta 2 to be released and hope it goes away. That's my plan.

so im trying to enable space storage and get this message? all drives are APFS? this a bug? any fixed?

Got downloaded and installed in 2h 30 min.. Safari working fine.. spotlight also works fine.. Battery backup is an issue though! 🙁

Is anybody having issues with TouchID? It's all turned on in my settings but not giving me the option to use TouchID when logging onto the computer or when trying to log into my accounts on websites.

Same problem here. light theme is not usable, the icons and text can't be seen. Once I create new user in the system, menu bar in this account seems to be fine. Not sure what is possibly causing that.
Menubar in my original old account seems to be white, but in the newly created account it is almost transparent, so the white text/icons are visible.
Any tips how to repair this?

Is there any way to optimize or calibrate the battery I'm getting a ****** battery backup. Also hard to delete something that's already synced to iCloud on my desktop the finder becomes unresponsive.
