Does anyone else have a problem whereby an application will hang if you attempt to use the 'File Open' dialog?

For example, say I'm using Safari (or Sublime, or Excel, or whatever), and I go to File -> Open [File]... then the application will hang and I need to force-quit it.
File-> Open works for me.

Considering downloading the beta. I really want to use Sidecar. I use my Mac for my work, mostly using chrome, Photoshop, Spotify, and FileZilla. Should I do it?

Honestly, you're better off waiting until early next week for a probable Beta 3. The bugs that have been kicking around are pretty bad. Not everyone is experiencing them, but if you do you'll wish you didn't jump on the bandwagon just yet.

Yes. Apple has acknowledged this one, hopefully it will be fixed in the next beta. I'm having this issue myself.

Correct. Neither do BeardedSpice or Last.fm scrobblers and most AppleScript telling application "iTunes".

EDIT: Just saw your follow up. Re-enabled where?

Under Privacy settings > Media Sharing
But for some reason, my library now appears on Remote but I can’t still control my iTunes.

Anyone getting this bug on your Reminders app?

Has anyone run into issues not being able to access Apple Music, or the TV app? They just come up as blank.

anyone having issues with iPads and iPhones not showing up in the finder. I can see their names in the window sidebar, but when I click on them I get a spinning wheel and the word loading, which always leads to selected device could not be found. is there a work around?

Yes, having issues with these two apps too.

My library in TV seem fine and playlists in Music are working too, but when I click WATCH NOW or anything else in TV app I bounces me back to the library tab and I'm totally unable to click on FOR YOU or BROWSE in the Music app.

Tried restarting, deleting cache, as well as reinstalling MacOS from recovery menu but still not working for me.

Yep that’s exactly what’s happening for me. Tried those things as well and no luck. Guess I’m not alone.

I have been running all of the developer betas for the last 3-4 years and never had any issue big enough to warrant me reverting back to a previous OS. Right now I have a disappearing storage issue that is crippling my machine. I should have over 100gigs free but it is down to 9 and shrinking. NOTHING I do fixes the issue. I deleted my entire iTunes/Music library stored on the hard drive and it won’t reclaim the space. I have no idea what do do other than to format the drive and go back to my latest backup. Frustrated.

I had a similar issue with Mojave Public betas. I fixed it with DaisyDisk. Have you tried that or a similar utility [?] (note: I have no idea if DaisyDisk is compatible with Catalina, but I thought I saw it on someone's "works" list - I could be mistaken and mixing it up with something else).

Good luck!

UPDATE: I did find where someone had included DaisyDisk on a "works" list (version 4.7.2, IIRC).

If anyone’s a concert junkie like I am, they have multiple versions of the same song in Music. But when you search for a song, it only shows a maximum of 4 results. Hope this is just a bug.

I'm having problems with iCloud Drive. It seems that all of my files which were within folders are now all in the main iCloud Drive folder and all of them show zero bytes. I tried to access it from the web and it says "there was a problem loading the content of this folder". Not sure if macOS 10.15 related or just general issue, but pretty serious.

I have installed on my early 2015 MB Pro. Very buggy and unstable so far...... Had experienced long booting time, and with bluetooth disabled. Time Machine backup showing zero byes backed up, etc. Will give a bit more time to see how it goes.

Here's a security issue. I have two-factor authentication on my Apple ID. Whenever I am asked to enter my Apple ID, whether it's an app like Apple Music or on Apple's website (pictured), it asks me to enter a six-digit code shown on my other Apple devices... except it shows it on this device. Not exactly secure... "Enter the password... also, here's the password!" Anyone else getting this?

Not really insecure. If your Mac is authenticated to your account, then there’s no reason not to show the 2FA code on that device when logging into Apple via the browser. It’s no different than logging your phone into a website and using Duo on the same phone to pull the 2FA code.
