Huge bugs for me with storage, both on the SSD and in iCloud, where all disk space and iCloud storage gets full, even though deleting 50+gb. Doesn't seem to free up the space. Anyone with same problem?
Something similar with deleting. MacOS is incapable of deleting files due to a broken helper application that actually does the file deletions.

My issues so far on a MacBook Air. The Finder sync is not working. When I click on the device the window goes blank. In the TV app, I cannot delete any watched shows. In Photos, one of my smart albums includes a keyword reference. When I enter the desired keyword it always reverts to the one below on the list.

***Update*** all of a sudden I can get into my devices in finder. Still cannot delete TV shows from a playlist, have to delete from the main page and only if you delete all episodes of a show.

Same problem here. Can't even download the iOS 13 beta and Xcode 11 because of this issue. Deleted time machine snapshots etc. but so far could not recover the lost space which keeps increasing.

Not sure if this is a bug but Catalina has a new version of Appearance; Light Mode, Dark Mode and Automatic. It's 11am here at the moment and when I select automatic it detects my time and sets the desktop background accordingly, but reverts the appearance to light mode by default. When I set it to dark mode the appearance goes dark but the background changes to night time, ignoring my regional settings.

I want to use dark mode but also have the background reflect what time of day it is. :)

EDIT: OK, just had a quick look. The Mojave background is dynamic, but the Catalina option isn't. So looks like it's still a WIP in this Beta.

Can you right-click Music in Applications, click "View Package Contents", and see if the internal files are still named iTunes? If so, Apple simply renamed the iTunes application to Music; as in, Music is not a brand new application.
All internal files have been renamed to Music as well, but it's still the same structure.

I discovered numerous issues, some fixable and some not.
  • Time Machine onto a network disk fails, at least for encrypted backups.
  • I had this for the longest time, but something must have got unstuck as my encrypted Time Capsule backup suddenly started working again, but from scratch.
[doublepost=1559869993][/doublepost]Custom artwork for playlist isn't showing up in Music, and can't be changed.

Keep in mind that the first beta after WWDC is always locked down many weeks ago, and newer builds were used for the presentation. Beta 2 is always a huge jump forward.

Is anyones Photos app syncing reliably?

No, I’ve been having a lot of issues too. Currently mine has been ‘analysing’ the library for 48hrs and has hardly completed.

Seems to update with pics taken on other devices like my phone. But if i make any changes on the photos app they are not reflected on the other devices or on iCloud.com

Something I realised.

Installing any app outside of App Store does not reflect in the Launchpad. Anyone else facing this?

I have the same issue, if you do a reset for launchpad (by typing `defaults write com.apple.dock ResetLaunchPad -bool true`), apps you installed from App Store will be hidden too.

Yes, albeit relatively slowly. However, most of my photos are "referenced" (i.e. sit on my laptop) so iCloud has less than 100 photos. I did read somewhere in the release notes for either Catalina or iOS13 (I forget which - maybe both!) that people with large photo libraries may have to wait many hours for the library to be fully working.

Exactly! At this point I just reformatted and reinstalled Mojave.

Anyone else having problems with the Photos application?

Syncing iPhone is broken. When you open finder and try to sync it just gives the error that iPhone couldn't be synced because it couldn't finish processing. Sucks because I did a clean install of iOS 13 but now can't get my music on it!

Choosing a Dynamic Wallpaper from a folder other than the provided "Desktop Wallpapers" results in this ugly menu-on-a-menu. Seems to be overlaying "Fill Screen" and "Dark (Still)" on top of each other. Clicking on it reveals the "Fill Screen" menu, no way to change from light to dark unfortunately.

EDIT: Can also confirm the Photos app is nonfunctional. It has been "Checking my library size" for about 3 hours now, even with a restart.

Attempting to unlock anything under Security & Privacy throws me back to the main System Prefs screen along with this dialogue box.

[doublepost=1559984214][/doublepost]Yes I am having exactly the same issue. I also tried to create another user and there are no apps at all

This may have already been said, but iPhone syncing is broken. Clicking "Sync" immediately pops up "The iPhone 'iPhone XR' could not be synced because the sync session failed to finish." Meanwhile, the iPhone continues to display "Syncing (Step 4 of 4) Waiting for changes to be applied".

EDIT: "Show this phone when on Wi-Fi" also seems to be broken, it disappears from Finder as soon as I unplug it. Wonder if these issues could be related.

How is Mac OS Beta treating you guys? Is it stable enough so far that you would install it? If not I'll wait for Beta 2 or 3 depending how stable they are
Always install on another boot volume or APFS Container. You'd be crazy to run this as your main system for a while.
[doublepost=1560008716][/doublepost]I love the Rogue Amoeba utilities - AirFoil, Soundsource, Audio Hijack. Due to changes in the HAL audio interface they are all broken. Fission should work.

An addition to my previous post about iPhone syncing issues... I woke up my Mac after a few hours of sleeping and was intrigued by what I saw. The entire iPhone syncing UI sort of "detached" itself from the main window, just hovering over the desktop. Catalina seems quite stable in most areas, but the whole Finder iPhone sync thing is a hot mess.

Update on Finder's iPhone syncing, the buggiest part of Catalina so far:
After restarting, my iPhone now IS showing up in the Finder sidebar when not connected, but when I click on it, the window only displays the text "The operation couldn't be completed (OSStatus error 1119)". Anyone familiar with OSStatus errors?

Found another bug today. This option is showing on a 2018 MBA. I know I have TouchID but I don't have the Touch Bar.

  • Desktop and Documents folders based on iCloud do not link to the actual local folders and show up blank. This is one is fixed by simply turning the cloud settings off and back on.
That's it for me so far.

What did you do to fix the Documents? I tried to disable syncing with iCloud and then enable it back, but same error (now I have it trying to resend :( )

What steps did you use?

On my 12” MacBook Early 2016 I can only use Sidecar via USB-C connected to my iPad Pro 11”. Via WiFi I don’t have any Sidecar options.. any idea why?

Anyone have issues with Airplay to speakers/Apple TV3? Works fine to Apple TV4, but not 3 or 'regular' AirPlay speakers. I get this message: "Could not connect to XX"

Same issue here. Think they might have broken streaming to AirPlay 1.0 devices.

Same here, and it sucks because i have a bad ass soundsystem in my bedroom (where also my workstations is) and it´s hocked up to my ATV3.

As we in Sweden would say: "Apple har skitit i det blå skåpet!" (Eng: Apple has taken a dump in the blue cabinet)
