@dosdude1 Downloaded 2.3.2 (was using 2.3.1) and tried the upgrade again, now on 10.13 proper. Seems to have blown away the hostname and VPN config but that's about it.

MBP4,1 here. 17-inch. 10.13.1 beta update showed up. opted to install. forgot that updates (for unsupported macs) before @dosdude1 patches were iffy. Appstore not working. Not worried though; next beta should take care of it. Everything else works.

I am running a ATI 5870 card

That is the problem.
Here is the solution:

#1728
If you have a 5770, 5870, or 6870 GPU, you'll need to boot from a USB booter/installer built with dosdude1's 2.3.2 patch and run the post install again with the GPU patch selected. Or switch your GPU to an original Apple efi card or a compatible nVidia card like the GTX 680 2 GB.

Okay thanks, I will do that.

Same here on my machine (MacBookPro 4,1), plus Safari not working. 10.13.1 Beta1 update shows up in App Store as 1.7GB in size, after install correct build number is shown (17B25c). Had to revert back to macOS 10.13 release.
Please someone share a direct d/l link for the full installer or provide a step-by-step method how to wrap the installer packages provided here:

https://www.zoneactu.fr/2017/09/27/...sierra-10-13-1-developer-beta-1-liens-pkg-dmg

into an installer suited for dosdude1's patcher? Highly appreciated.

What are the difference between dosdude'2 2.3.1 and 2.3.2? Is it sufficient for me to only change the post install app in the USB-stick?

hello,

i've just installed high sierra on my macbook 5,1. everything is fine except app store. when i tried to install some applications it just stuck on downloading (dl did not even start) and when i click to updates tab whole app store freezes. any ideas what might be wrong?

no one with this problem?

@dosdude1 Hi! I've just installed your patch to my MacPro 3,1. I've done several times for booting with your Post Patch tool. But I cannot boot my Mac? why is that happen? Every time I have to press alt key to select high Sierra hd to start the high Sierra?

Can you recommend what should I do?

Thank you.

@roysterdoyster ... you are right. Safari does not work. i was using Safari TP, so when i read your post, i uninstalled it, and tried vanilla Safari and it failed to work. Regarding the French website, long ago i found the different files difficult to use, and it looks like nothing's changed (5 different files, in which order?).

Okay thanks, I will do that.
Many Thanks, It worked a treat, I now have HS up and running and everything looks good so far, big thanks for Dosdude for his patcher, without this guy we would all be binning our still good older Mac Pro's, keep the faith guys!!

You can change the CatalogURL in the patcher's "/Contents/Resources/DownloadSettings.plist" file to the beta or developer preview ones, and it will download the respective version.

I'm pretty happy with Sierra on my MBP Late 2008 and was wondering if there would be any real reason for me to update.

I can't use APFS, as I still use Snow Leopard a lot and it would be inconvenient to not have access to the other partition, and I don't use photos (pretty much happy with iPhoto '11, which works fine on Sierra once patched). Also, I guess applications compability won't be a problem at least for a couple of years.
Any reason I should be interested in the update?

I just updated the Google Drive link on my site, so you can try that.

Hello. I tried again, and after installation, appeared the "forbidden" signal. I had to "format" the disk and install an old version (usb) that I had created with your patch.

Downloaded again from your Google Drive, and it seems the version is 21st september. The final version is from 25th september.

Tonight I will try again, but I am afraid, It will not install de 10.13 version.

I have a similar setup with Samsung EVO on Sonnet PCI card and it runs APFS fine with no issues

[doublepost=1506463050][/doublepost]The firmware update requires an original Apple efi GPU; did you update the card to something else?
I did! Sapphire HD 7950 from Macsales. Would that still be an issue?

Can anyone confirm whether or not the "sleep/wake" problem with 5770-5870 video cards as indicated back around post #1630 has been solved yet.
I've pulled my own 5770 so can't test it myself at the moment.

Nope, the patcher should not be affected whatsoever, due to the way I've implemented the installer.
Ok. Just wanted to make sure.
I have an old APFS (HS Beta) foxlet implementation running on mbp.
I think your method also involves the startup script and its location. As long as the .efi executable binary is untouched it should be ok (ssd driver issues notwithstanding of course).
I believe Apple is running chipsec or a variant which is whitelist based. Not sure.

@dosdude1 Currently running High Sierra on my Mac Pro 3,1 works fine no problems but I'm planning on installing the drive into my new 4.1 when it arrives, is there a way to reverse/uninstall the patch and the boot stuff for APFS. I'll be flashing it to 5.1 Firmware first obviously.

I just install HS on my Mac Pro 3.1. Everything was fine. I have a Radeon 6870 and I have the red login window (not a problem for me) but it seems that my mac don't wake.

Anyone know about the R9 280x (7970)? Would it be the same? thanks

On my MacPro 3,1 with a Radeon 5770, I didn't saw the red login window but I solve the wake-up problem putting "never"
wake-up in the System prefs energy Saver...................Not a real solution but a workaround.............!!!!!!!!

Red login window is not big deal, but wake-up is for me.
My Mac is always on and sleep after 1 hour if you do not do anything.
HD 7950 is very expensive card and I have this about 3-4 years.

So should I replace it and can someone confirm GPU-cards what are fully compatible?
I have original HD 2600 XT will that work?

@dosdude1 I changed the CatalogURL to

https://swscan.apple.com/content/ca...ion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog.gz

also tried:

https://swscan.apple.com/content/catalogs/others/index-10.13beta-10.13-10.12-10.11-10.10-10.9-mountainlion-lion-snowleopard-leopard.merged-1.sucatalog.gz

to no avail. Always downloaded the Installer v13.0.64 of 21/09/2017.

Hm. What to do?
