The bug with displaying the only and main monitor as "mirrored" still remains....

Can confirm. Mac Studio here with a single 32" 4K display attached via USB-C -> DP cable, "screen mirroring" is active in control centre and when you click that it tells you it's mirroring/extending to the display.

Everything works as before but it treats the single external display as if it were connected to a MacBook and not to a computer that does not have a built-in screen.

Same here with my Mac Studio to Samsung M8 monitor using the USB-C to mini HDMI. Switching to USB-C to USB-C solved the problem. The only drawback is that the monitor doesn’t wake from sleep automatically now.

Mr. Macintosh has it.

Thanks, I think he gets the links from the same place as me and when I looked a few minutes earlier, there wasn't anything. AppStore and Terminal also showed still the old versions.

I wanted to use this to update maybe but also started normal updater and while I was in the kitchen for a few minutes it already restarted. So there was not time to choose anymore. 🙈 But I will use it for clean install in my MBP.

Do you think there will be a 15.3 beta before next year?

I updated from 15.1.1 . . . freshy-fresh, but nothing has subjectively changed.

I don't know what's changed too and was there the whole beta phase. There is this Image Playground now, that i can't use because the tweak to run Apple Intelligence on an external Startup Disk is somehow broken and now I always get this, sometimes it says 0% sometimes 100%, but always the wheel is spinning:

I don't need Intelligence anyway. Just wanted to see what that app is. The pictures looked like it's a game for small children.

doesn't look like image playground is working, I get the error "unable to use that description" for everything I try, including the built in prompts

I am seeing an odd "Update" volume that I can't eject or remove. Anyone else having this issue?

Just let it be. It's a bug or so. You can't do anything. I have one of those non-ejectable again too since a while:

But I already had 7 at once that just didn't disappear. I have a thread for it. Just have to look where it is...

Found it:

tried that too, but it doesn't show up in the Recovery Environment for some odd reason...

Eidt: Anyway my recommendation is just to do nothing. And hope it disappears somehow by itself.

You don't need to it from there. Try to get in the folder with Disk Utility "Show in Finder", then "show enclosing folder" with a right click on the bottom bar. There you see the disk image and some folder and files.

In Finder you can format it by a right click and choose "erase disk". I would use FAT and then eject it and I also deleted everything in that folder. All seven were gone when I did that. I did it from the root account, but it seems to work with a standard one too.

I just tried it again without using root because I got a second one in the meantime. Maybe because I opened Image Playground. Anyway they are gone now...

Those should normally not appear anywhere. I have heard of people who even had them on their Desktop and not only in Disk Utility.

This didn't work; However, I figured out where that "Update" volume is originating from - if you download the 15.2 update using an app like Mist and then use the Installer app, instead of System Settings to install the update, the "Update" volume shows up and can't be removed.

I have no idea on the next beta, but I would be against since I understand Apple gives the non-retail/service folks off between Xmas and New Year's. It wouldn't surprise me to see a 15.2.1 fix for something, however. I can think of several items that still need work.

I downloaded the full installer from Mr. Macintosh, made a USB drive with Install Disk Creator, rebooted to the USB drive, reformatted the internal, checked there were no weird drives or images left over, installed 15.2 and restored with Time Machine.

(I don't know about you guys but for me and 1.2GB on my internal this takes about 12 hours and gets old doing it over and over.)

This morning after everything finished Disk. Utility reports the Creedence/Cryptex disk and three shared support images. How do I get rid of this junk.

I waited for 15.2 due to the camera issue I read about here, installed it last night on my M1 Max MBP...zero issues. Everything works great. I have NOT activated the AI features, not sure I will, but I am happy with the OS so far.

---

Now a week later, all is still good except I had been able to get iCal to show 14 days in earlier OS versions, but in 15.2 I am unable to get that to work. Anyone know how to do that in this OS?
