macOS Sequoia Working and Non-Working Apps

The brightness keys on the Apple and Logitech keyboards stopped working for me immediately upon install of Sequoia (Public release) so I tried Monitor Control and Better Display — Monitor Control crashes as soon as you click on anything to do with screen brightness and Better Display just won't even launch.

I've seen several reports both here and elsewhere of other people having the same problem, so I'm guessing it's a bug that needs to be addressed by Apple.

need to add Dell Display Manager to the list. It runs but the only control you have is over two window easy arrange and per a dell forum I saw they have only tested the current version for Macs up to Sonoma

Anyone having issues with Fantastical? It says it can't run unless allowed to run in the background. I go to settings, it has the permissions to run in the background, but I still get the error message

Please allow Fantastical to run in the background to sync your events and reminders. Go to System Settings > General > Login Items > Allow in the Background and then make sure Fantastical is enabled.

UPDATE via Flexibits customer support, and i can confirm this fixed it:

This is an issue we are aware of and seems to be a bug with macOS Sequoia. Can you please try the following steps and let us know if that helps?

- Open the Terminal app on the Mac, copy and paste the following line, and hit enter:

sfltool resetbtm

- Reboot your Mac
- Launch Fantastical

Please note: This will reset login and background items on your Mac, so after using the above steps you might need to re-enable those for your apps.

Firefox intermittently fails to load pages on Sequoia.

- It's not consistent / occurs intermittently.
- I suspect it's network packet filtering or internal DNS drop outs.
- Firefox is already in the allowed applications list in the macOS Firewall.
- Disabling macOS's inbound firewall resolves the issue (although you shouldn't do this).

That's the one I had. Version 16.89 (24090815).

Upgraded to Version 16.89.1 (24091630). No change.

The first time I attach something, I get

Oops, we encountered a problem while adding an attachment. Please restart Outlook and try again.

If I then restart, I no longer get that, but it still doesn't work.

(edit) Microsoft support suggested I try resetting the account:

--> Make sure your computer is connected to the server.

--> On the Outlook toolbar, go to Tools > Accounts.

--> Select Account and n the left pane, select the account you want to reset.

--> On the bottom left, click the three dots and select Reset Account from the list.

However, that didn't help in my case.

To follow up on my previous post, Monitor Control now has a beta version that fixes the Sequoia crashing issue and I now have keyboard brightness control back (though it's still a mystery to me why those two keys don't work to begin with).

Issue with SEE Finance 2 when editing the status of a transaction in the register. The "save" and "cancel" buttons do not show the text. The program overall appears to work, just some visual glitches. The program has not been updated in quite some time and efforts to contact the developer have gone unanswered.

ISSUES

• Adguard is only partly working -you can use it if set as automatic proxy -Sequoia doesn't let you install network extension so it does not work with it. Installs correctly with Beta 2 and Adgurad for Mac 2.14.1.1603
• Microsoft Teams works as messaging, but you cannot share your screen. You can use your web browser to share your screen though.
• Mullvad installed without problems and seems to run OK BUT although I am apparently connected to a secure server in London, BBC iPlayer detects that I am not in the UK. Tried clearing browser cookies and restarting but same problem. Reported to Mullvad devs.
• Proton Drive (It will install and authenticate but cannot pull in the encrypted files). Work around = use web interface. I notified the Proton dev team via their feedback forms
• Zoom Meeting works well except for:1. I cannot share apps or windows - only sharing my entire desktop works. 2. Every time I join wearing my APP2, I am told I sound like Mickey Mouse. When I leave and rejoin, I sound "normal"
• Davinci Resolve does not yet work properly. Resolve itself will open but cant read the media files (a7s3 files tested). The project saved on macos 15 beta will corrupt the original project file on Sonoma as well.

Please consider the risks before installing developer beta software.

I'm having the same issue. I just switched to using the web client for now. Not ideal but at least it works.

Same. Funnily enough, if I create a draft in the desktop app, then open that and attach a file in the web app, the desktop app shows the attachment as well within ~2 seconds. So the sync part works well, just for some reason, it can't add the file. (TCC, sandboxing, something?)

Camo Camera and Camo Studio are acting up on Gold Master builds (iOS 18.0, macOS 15.0 (24A335)) running respectively on my iPhone 13 Mini and both my M1 Max Mac Studio and 15'' M2 MacBook Air.

The pairing seems to work at first, and Camo Studio does indeed get a continuous feed from Camo Camera, but in all supported apps (Zoom Workplace, Skype, FaceTime…) all I get is a few seconds to a couple of minutes of usable video and then it drops off, and the Camo Camera driver then disappears altogether from the camera selection drop-down list.

Something is amiss with camera driver extensions on Sequoia, I suspect, though it can also be Reincubate's fault, that's for sure. Didn't they test this in Beta builds? Their latest update for macOS was in August, and the one for iOS was, like, yesterday, so I kind of expected that they did. 🤦‍♂️

My sapgui broke. My mbp m2 can't open the sapgui. Nor can it open the sapgui installer for java when I tried to update to a current sapgui.

I did look for a warning in security & privacy where i could select "open anyways", but no luck.

I did go into get info and change Admin from read to read & write.

I have the same problem. Upgraded to Sequoia 5 days ago, sent plenty of attachments since (including yesterday). Today, I can't attach anything and have to go to Outlook Web.

Running Version 16.89.2 (24092212)
