An option to adjust the degree of translucency would be great, like a slide bar in System Settings.

How can we suggest this to Apple?
Feedback app.

And, in my personal opinion, it's best to find something difficult to read and use that to file it as a bug rather than suggestion (as I don't think they're gonna bother with suggestions!).

10 Minutes with fans running at full speed it's still a little warmer than in 15.5.

Those button drop shadows and floating sidebar are CRAZY design choices. What were they thinking?? The proximity of the close button makes it look like it would close the sidebar, not the whole window. That's just bad hierarchy. I get it if you have photographic content blurred behind the sidebar, but most apps won't ever have that, certainly not Finder. Huge misstep.

Remember Windows Vista? This is our macOS Vista moment. I predict in 5 years time they'll come out with a new flatter design and that will be the "new and improved" modern look.

How much more demanding is macOS 26 Tahoe on CPU, GPU and RAM compared to Sequoia? My M2 MacBook Air runs Sequoia well and I have a feeling that this redesign is going to make stock apps launch a lot slower. I remember going from Catalina to Big Sur back in 2020, it was literally almost twice as heavy as Catalina launching stock apps. For example messages opened 2.3x slower on the same hardware than Catalina's messages app.

I wonder why I always use Finder while having all those installed...

At least I can confirm they still work. ;)

Safari changing to dark mode when a website is dark or just to the background color, like the light grey on the right

This is what I miss the most! I like the new spotlight for searching through things but why did they get rid of launchpad? I like seeing a grid of my apps

Why not just grid mode for the pinned Applications folder?

I never really used Launchpad but I just tried an app for those who miss it. I didn't really try it. Just wanted to see what it looks like.

You can't even launch the old app from an external drive, it somehow just starts the new one like the hidden Launchpad.app in the Applications folder, that's still there.

Edit: The update stole my Safari Technology Preview. That already didn't work anymore in 15.5 since a few weeks or so, because it somehow was outdated without any update and permanently crashed.

I thought of Vista too when I looked at the temperatures for CPU and GPU. But on a M4 Pro with 64GB RAM you don't really notice it, if you don't touch the Mac. I didn't hear the fan until I maxed it out manually. I wonder how a non Pro M1/M2/M3 with just 8GB is handling all this.

Installed on my 2020 Intel 13" MacBook Pro, now it doesn't charge, lol. iStatMenus reports USB-C input never goes above 2w. Just waiting for it to die now.

Even my M4 Pro Mini with 64GB RAM is getting very hot.

Those are always on top in Activity Monitor, while doing nothing. Force quitting them doesn't help. They come back immediately. I never saw those two before, at least not near the top. Next is Window server with also a very long CPU time but I think that's normal.
