- iLife 09 iWork 09
- 17" Mac Book Pro update with dual core 2.8 GHz standard and dual FW800 ports.
- New Apple Cinema Pros with matte screen option and built in ICC profiles.
- Bumps and what not for the toy hardware.
- maybe, just maybe an iPhone on a much better network, but I know I am only dreaming. There won't be a 4G iPhone since AT&T can barely get their 3G working right.
Interesting predictions. But do you think iLife/iwork will be updated so soon? Last time they skipped a year...
Also, what makes you think dual FW800?
I hope you're right about the displays, but I doubt Apple will have a matte option.
And yes, you are dreaming about a better network...
Anyway, interesting predictions, as always, Digital Skunk.
Yeah, you know they're just pipe dreams.
I have a feeling that Apple would rather release proprietary GFX cards for the Mac Pro than give us Cinema's made for Mac Books. But, I just can't get this question out of my head:
"If the new Cinema is made for the Macbooks, and has a magsafe cord attached to it, how would that be effective for a desktop user?"
I don't think dual FW800's would go on the 17" since you can daisy chain them, but some peripherals don't have two FW800 ports for chaining, so that's another pipe dream there.
I am still in the Sprint/EVDO camp when it comes to the iPhone. Wonderful device, I will wait until Rev Q to get one, or at least until Sprint just folds in on itself and ceases to exist.
If the new ACD is made for the MacBooks, why does it have an iSight? The MacBook has one. And yeah, the magsafe cord has no place for a desktop.
I'd love to see new matte displays but I just think it's becoming increasingly clear that Apple is diverging away from the Pro market and is more focused on consumers.
My iPhone 3G is on Fido...reception pretty much the same as what I got on my old RAZR (Telus), maybe a bit worse. The phone is awesome, save for the battery life. You can't walk around all day with 3G, push e-mail, and GPS on or you won't make it past lunch.
Sorry im a newbie here, but is there anyway to watch MWSF on television if your not going?
Well, there's some TV news coverage on MWSF, but Macworld's Keynote isn't broadcast on TV. However, if you wait a few hours after the event, Apple posts the keynote on Apple.com for you to stream, and then a bit later allows you to download the video.
. there's also a spoiler-free link to the streamed keynote that MacRumors will send to you if you want.
Ok so I have a really dumb question. Is it possible for apple to release blu ray for their macbook pro? I just purchased a macbook pro because I gave up on waiting for apple to put blu ray in their products. Now, I am no expert but you guys are. Is it possible for apple to release blu ray on their laptops during macworld?
where is this link?

I'd like to add a small amendment to my prediction:
In the iPhone portion of the keynote, Jobs will announce the release of Push notifications and there will be App demos that show the use of this new feature.
Otherwise, I continue to go by my predictions. I think most people hope for too much stuffed into 2 hours. I'm trying to demonstrate some restraint in realism.
Here's my amended prediction:
10 mins - Overview of new MacBooks, further emphasis on "revolutionary" unibody construction
5 mins - Introduction of 17" MacBook Pro
5 mins - iPhone year in review
10 mins - iPhone3G update (16GB and 32GB; new colours)
10 mins - iPhone Push notifications released. Developers show Apps with Push to be released in concert with the iPhone update
60 mins - Snow Leopard in depth overview; Demo; final feature list; release date announcement
20 mins - One More thing: Mac Mini completely overhauled. New enclosure (aluminum + black glass top, Time Capsule/tv footprint), new MacBook like specs, DisplayPort, includes tv interface.
As of yesterday, there was no Keynote address on the schedule. Some are worried that if Steve does not make a Keynote Address this coming January, there will be no event in January 2010.
To be fair, it was only about half a year. If Apple decides to go for a 1.5-year cycle, the MWSF would be a likely release date.Interesting predictions. But do you think iLife/iwork will be updated so soon? Last time they skipped a year...

If Steve is not there, it will be such a disappointment to so many.
