Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro Order Status

Seeing these two models side by side, the 11” reminds me so much of the (discountinued) 11” Macbook Air and 12” Macbook.
11:30am yesterday morning. Got a label at 2:30p and movement around 9p. Finally arrived a little after 5:45 today
My wife owns the 11”. It’s just too small for me and the keyboard is cramped. I would choose the 12.9” every time.
I’m with you. I had the 10.5” then the 11” IPP but recently upgraded to the 12.9”. I don’t think I will ever go back. I think if most people picked up the 12.9 and didn’t touch another ipad for about a week they’d understand how the size of the 12.9 sort of diminishes the longer you use it. I wouldn’t mind having a smaller iPad to use on occasion but I think I would just pick up a 7th gen or an ipad Air.
FedEx and apple.com both still say arriving today but just got a text from Apple: “Your delivery may arrive later than expected.”

Ah, man, I hope it doesn’t take that long to get to you. Does it have to go far? Mine just has to hop a few miles south. Only a 45 minute plane ride away... Really hope it comes tomorrow.
My 11 inch model just arrived. Wow, this is a premium product. The first thing I did was a quick typing comparison between the MKC and the SKF. No comparison. I didn’t realise how poor the typing experience was on the SKF. It feels like typing on a brick in comparison. This thing is a definite keeper.

- Yes It’s heavier but the weight is no concern whatsoever. If anything, it makes it feel more premium. Very solid.
- Keyboard is fantastic for typing. Feel is great!
- Trackpad is awesome. Feels like I’m using my MBP. Plus, the combination of the trackpad gestures and pencil should help keep the greasy, grimy smudges off the iPad display to a large extent.
- Angle of view feels just about the same as the SKF when both set to the extreme tilt positions.
- Since I always just “poke” (one finger) on the number row of keys (just my style), my fingers never hit the bottom of the display...for normal typing...and the case tilted all the way back.
- Exterior material feels better than the SKF...there seems to be some difference. It just looks like it won’t get that same “worn out” look quickly like the SKF does. Time Will tell though.

Finally got mine today. I was in the April 24 - May 1 delivery date. Glad it arrived today. Love it and it’s definitely much better than the original iPad keyboard. This keyboard is definitely much better to type on and is as close as you can get to a MacBook keyboard.
Mine arrived today around 4pm. Keyboard feels and looks great, but...
...the backlight doesn’t work at all. Also the pass through USB-C charging doesn’t work — in fact if I plug it in to my Apple power supply with the Apple USB-C cable, it just keeps cycling as if it’s connecting and disconnecting the keyboard and no key presses worked. Called Apple, now I’m going through the steps for an exchange. Very disheartening.

Same exact story here. An Origin scan, then Departure scan, and then 5 minutes later a subsequent Arrival scan all in Ontario California. All 2 days ago. No updates since. Well except for Apple telling me that it may be delayed...
I kept my 10.5” Pro for the smaller iPad urges but I literally haven’t picked it up since 2018 when I bought the 2018 12.9“ Pro. The 12.9“ does diminish to the perfect size over time.
My Best Buy order arrived. It’s nice. Solid. Life changing...eh. It’s a great keyboard. Hopefully they will create shortcuts for brightness and volume. Couple of YouTube gestures are missed but no major loss. The angles are limited but I would not really use any other angles. I have a skin on my iPad Pro and would take it out is the keyboard to write in anyway with no concerns if it getting scratched. Makes the Smart Keyboard feel like flimsy cardboard. I the weight and solid build hold the iPad Peo very well but allow for an easier experience removing the iPad Pro from the keyboard.
I finally saw movement! The order showed up in UPS My Choice waiting for pickup and delivery date of May 1. Hope it gets to Texas sooner than next Friday.
Still nothing. I ordered a 12.9” keyboard last week with a delivery window of 4/23-4/30. It switched to PTS on Monday evening, but it has yet to show up in UPS or FedEx’s site. This is by far the worse shipping experience I’ve ever had with Apple. I was able get 10% off through my work, otherwise I’d order one through Best Buy and send the Apple one back whenever it showed up.
I ordered on launch day mid morning EST and got shafted with Apr 27- May 4 dates. I also have the 10% off as a vet. I though about purchasing from BB and return the one from Apple to BB, but I did not want to tie up $350 more. Apple really underestimated the demand for this product, especially at a time where many of us are working from home.
It's nice to stumble across a fellow Iowan. I was born and grew up in Ottumwa and then did my BA at Central College in Pella before moving out of state.
If you don't mind me asking, BaddAdvice, what part of Iowa do you call home?
I don't mind at all - and I'm sure this will be totally interesting to everyone! I grew up in Siouxer City (Sioux City) on the west coast of Iowa. Went to college at Iowa State, in the central coast, and now live in Iowa City, near the east coast. So, slowly but surely, migrating east - eventually I'll end up in Illinois or somewhere!
I wonder if I'll have my Magic Keyboard before I move again?
