One other item that I can't figure out.. I have a couple of USB install sticks.. one for Mojave and one dosdude1 Catalina. when I boot to the picker with the usb sticks in the front usb 2.0 ports on my Macpro 5,1 I see them in the apple standard hold down option boot picker.

But I haven't put in the RX 580 yet.. Once I do so I'm afraid I will lose this ability.

Is there something special to get the USB boot sticks to show up in OC standard boot picker? I see all my volumes and recovery as well as windows disks, but no usb boot sticks that appear in the apple boot menu.

Having trouble with the RX580 with black screen (I saw posts on this already) but after a triple chime PR Reset, the usb volumes are now on my boot picker!

EDIT.. after reboot they are gone again..

It sounds like you're stuck trying to get Mojave installed on the OC disk after you followed the Basic Installation instructions? After booting into recovery and following the instructions there, choose reinstall macos from the recovery menu. It'll do an internet install of Mojave (choose the OC drive as the target), you don't need a usb drive.

Once you've installed and booted into Mojave you can install Catalina via Software Update. Again, no usb drive needed.

If I'm off base just ignore me.

Did the Basic Install yesterday evening and the Advanced Config today. Everything seems to be running well. The only issue I'm seeing are some short colored lines that sometimes pop up in the boot screen and the dynamic desktop. No idea what those are, wasn't seeing them when I was running Catalina with Dosdude1's patcher.

At any rate, being able to download and install Mojave via internet install and Catalina via system update with a PC RX 520 was pretty nice.

I should be able to copy this install from the platter drive it is currently on to my PCI NVMe M.2 drive using CCC with no issues, right? CCC will copy all the open core stuff?

Those coloured lines (magenta coloured) went away for me once I’d applied the hardware acceleration patches in the advanced section.

I can't see it with my GT-710 neither. Actually I have not seen a report for a boot screen with NVIDIA card (original OEM vbios). I even updated my GOP: ...
Same for me. I also have a GT-710, and I also updated the GOP, but no luck on a boot screen.

Ok, I have another question...maybe some of you may have gone through this before... I have been cloning every version of macOS (el capitan, sierra, mojave, catalina) but I went ahead and did the mistake of reinstalling High Sierra (to get a cleaner install so I could clone it) and for some reason it boots into it (high sierra) the first time (install boot,) but the second time around (true first boot, non-install boot) gives me a circle with line across icon when I try to boot that macOS with OpenCore. I have tried EVERYTHING (like 4 times reinstalling trying different things, last thing I'm going to try is blessing the stock EFI on the drive and see if I can get it to boot a second (true first) time so I can clone it, but if you know the answer to this please share it. Thanks!

Figured it out. FYI:

High Sierra does work on OpenCore and even though an aftermarket RX580 works and boots fine to it, after the install it must be doing something that with the RX580 was crashing and not finishing, and when I tried to boot it would not boot. I switched to the stock Apple ATI card and managed to install, re-boot and even shrink the partition to clone it (I use HDClone) and restored it to a USB thumb drive and boot back on it. My new challenge is "El Capitan" for some reason Recovery won't even boot with OpenCore, so about to bless the stock Apple EFI and keep a copy of that around for a rainy day... I had to recover so I could reflash my BOOT ROM on my new motherboard with, get this, a hackingtosh clone I had of Mavericks! LOL! I should be good with these clones I have done and tested working. So far they only take up 9gb (Sierra), 11gb (High Sierra), 12gb (Mojave), and 23gb (Catalina) which would not let me shrink the partition, so weird.... Something to do with the dual partition system on Catalina? About to do El Capitan now with Apple EFI and Apple ATI board, even though I can boot to it with the RX580 I can't boot into Recovery, so whack....

EDIT: Corrupted EL CAPITAN recovery partition... Back to Mavericks and reinstalling El Capitan..

It works fine.

So I downloaded VideoProc. Does this response mean that I have HW Acceleration turned on?

Are you having any issues with OpenCanopy? I used your package for .61 and I only get the text boot picker. Weird. Also whenever I add Nightshiftenabler I get issues. The config file has external selected. Might need to go back to .60 for now.
OpenCanopy works fine in 0.6.1. Please make sure you update both OC and BOOT folders.

Weird I did update both folders. Will try it again in a few.

EDIT:
IS ExFatDxeLegacy.efi and NightShiftEnabler working fine for you?

So. NightShiftEnabler doesn't work. I also just replaced everything as @h9826790 had in the video and I still did not get OpenCanopy. Really weird.

OK, Just to let folks know if they have the issue.. The issue with my RX 580 going black was an extension conflict. I removed the non-apple installed extensions from /Library/Extensions and that got my RX 580 working in Mojave.

The USB Stick thing is still Odd. Booting with Apple boot picker I can see both my Mojave and Catalina usb setup sticks.. with OpenCanopy I Only see my internal drives.

Try the Debug version and enable file logging.

hello. I've installed Catalina in two 5,1s and they work perfectly, thanks you.
but one of them doesn't display the boot screen, it has a radeon HD 7870, the one that works is an RX 580.
anyone know how to fix it?
It's this exact model https://www.amazon.com/VisionTek-Radeon-GDDR5-MiniDP-Graphics/dp/B0085O90SQ
I got it used really cheap and it works perfectly everywhere else.
thanks in advanced.
