10000Thx!
Anyway, if you want to upgrade from Mojave to Catalina by using OpenCore, use this package may be easier. (please spend some time to read through these two posts)

Thanks for all the HELP and time you have taken to try and set me straight!
Last piece for me is:
(Pardon My Ignorance) but how do I “Bless” the Partition?

Check the first post , you will see. If you got errors do it in the recovery.

SO, I'm having an issue in which I cannot seem to set the VMM flag on 10.15.4. Any insight as to why this is?

When checking to see if VMM is enabled using Terminal, it's not in the list of enabled features
Code:
sysctl -a | grep machdep.cpu.features
machdep.cpu.features: FPU VME DE PSE TSC MSR PAE MCE CX8 APIC SEP MTRR PGE MCA CMOV PAT PSE36 CLFSH DS ACPI MMX FXSR SSE SSE2 SS HTT TM PBE SSE3 PCLMULQDQ DTES64 MON DSCPL VMX SMX EST TM2 SSSE3 CX16 TPR PDCM SSE4.1 SSE4.2 POPCNT AES VMM PCID

Read a lot of this thread and it's pretty interesting. Am I right in thinking you can boot Catalina then simply by adding the nvram line 'boot-args=-no_compat_check'?

Interested in testing this, and potentially getting a 5700 XT as a little project..

Updated to 10.15.4 and Handoff started working. Weird. I also have internal speakers already. I did change my config to the default in this thread. No issues with update so far. Fingers crossed.

Hello! Tried last night but not success!
Dark screen and cannot boot up
My config:
RX580 plus dual mon: LG 5K2K 21:9 (DP) and asus 2K mon HDMI
(tried only Asus and it is same)
cMP firmware:144.0.0.0
Mac OS lastest Mojave
Boot drive: intel 660p NvEM SSD in slot 2
Catalina install drive: Sata bay1
following step:
1. Disable SIP (always)
2. Get the attachment (done)
3. Unzip the file (done)
4. Use the app the mount boot EFI drive (mount intel SSD and nothing inside the drive, I create EFI folder and copy 2 folders to EFI folder)
5. run the automation file (done)
6. Reboot

Dark screen and I have read my intel SSD is no reaction the read write light in PCIe card No flash.

Would you please advise if I have any mistake?

I can remove all drive reset NVram and boot from usb.Set boot from USB I can plug the intel SSD back and redirect to boot from old Mojave.

Thanks!

First of all, make sure the RX580 with the factory ROM.

I've seen lots of cases that the users bought a used card with flashed mining ROM, which breaks the GOP, and the boot screen won't work.

Yes it is second hand card. bought long time ago.
How can I check it? it means i need to flash a stock rom to it?

Thanks!

Using dism, I successfully installed Windows in UEFI mode, and with ProtectSecureBoot enabled in OpenCore, my BootROM has remained free of certificates! (Admittedly, the first attempts to start Windows after the installation were hit or miss. I faced a similar issue described earlier in this thread—hang on Windows logo with no spinner. But after installing the latest drivers and updating Windows, all attempts to start Windows have been successful.) I can boot into Windows using Startup Disk or the OC boot picker. To ensure that Windows only ever boots through OC, I installed Windows on a disk in Bay 2, and moved OC to the EFI partition of a disk in Bay 1 (which is the default after resetting the NVRAM).

I've being using dism for years, I prefer to use it since it's a much more reliable way to install Windows UEFI than cloning pre-configured images.

update the current state:
Drive:
1. SATA SSD Bay1 (Catalina OS installed and success boot from boot menu)
2. Intel NvME SSD (Catalina installed from 1 OS use upgrade from Mojave) (Open core EFI contained)
3. Kingston SATA PCIE SSD (contain Data and Catalina installation program)
4. USB drive with Mojave installation program

Situation:
1. Open Core boot menu exist, can see the boot option

Boot Menu
-1. SATA SSD Bay1 (Catalina OS installed and success boot from boot menu)
-2. Recovery of 1
-3. Intel NvME SSD (Catalina installed from 1 OS use upgrade from Mojave) (Open core EFI contained)
-4. Recovery of 3
-5. Reset NvRAM

2. The EFI folder in drive 2, edited Config to allow installation of Catalina
3. Boot from SATA SSD of Catalina is success
4. Boot from Drive 2 Intel SSD fault to boot and freeze in apple logo like above image

Installation process:

1. Open core installed in drive 2 as it is original Mojave boot disk.
2. fault boot from drive 2, remove all drive rest NvRAM and boot from Mojave USB
3. install Mojave in Drive 1 (SATA SSD Bay1)
4. Edit config file Upgrade Drive 1 to Catalina (SATA SSD upgraded to Catalina)
5. keep config setting, upgrade Drive 2
6. Drive 2 still boot fault, freeze after boot menu

Now I can use open core to boot to SATA Bay, what should I do if I can boot from NvME SSD?
MACPRO FIRMWARE is 144.0.0.0.0
I have seem the Preboot of Drive 2 in CoverConfig
Please advice if I have done anything wrong
Thanks!

Downloaded latest Microsoft link Still same error , is it something with pcie ssd or being partitioned?
I can confirm this method of installing Windows works on dual boot drives. I have created a Windows partition on a Catalina drive and succesfully installed Windows in EFI mode through Virtualbox. Just make sure the Catalina partitions inside the container are unmounted (they tend to automatically mount so keep unmounting until you successfully boot the virtual box machine) and the Windows partition as well.

Just curious, anyone has OSX drive laying around? I sold my Yosemite drive already, too lazy to make another one just run a "test for fun".

Theoretically, we can now boot Snow Leopard on 5,1 via OpenCore boot screen with RX580 (or some other non supported GPU like Radeon VII etc). Of course, no acceleration will work, but we should able to see the screen, and use it (at least should work for some simple stuff).

Anyone want to try?

Confirmed. Snow Leopard through OC with an RX 580 works beautifully.

I have a problem with 4K monitor but at 10.15.4 my login screen is only full HD. Also, the default setting is FULL HD by default. I have to scale to the real resolution. What's the problem?
I didn't have such a problem with Mojave.

Trying to install Catalina on my old dual socket 4,1 and running into problems. I updated to Mojave and 144.0.0.0.0. I installed Open Core. I created a modified APFS disk EFI disk with the VMM flag set and tried to install Catalina to the drive but the installer complained that it couldn’t verify my firmware so wouldn’t install on and APFS disk. The dialog wanted me to choose an HFS+ disk. So I repeated open core step on HFS+ and installed Catalina to it. The Calalina installer go t further this way but after reboot and some time I’d get the same firmware not verified message. Any clue what I’m doing wrong here?
