Not sure why or how Apple would do this. The packages have your name and address on it and you have a tracking number for your package.

it's not like the iPad are branded with our names and addresses on it. they can easily put another delivery label on top of the brown boxes. the non-preorder people at the store would never know because they never know because they see it.

Ugh it's been sitting in Mississauga for 14 hours now! HURRY UP AND GET MOVING TO VANCOUVER!!!

Since I'm not aware of FedEx flights from Toronto to Vancouver, and since driving would take wayyyy too long, I'll assume it's being put on something like Air Canada. There's tons of flights that go from YYZ to YVR. The only thing to wonder is when.

I think this may be a bit paranoid! You still have a tracking number and I doubt FedEx is going to spend the night changing labels on the boxes.

If there is going to be a delay, I'm sure there's a reasonable explanation for it and not that Apple is redirecting your iPad to a store. :D

i work in logistics and it's not that hard to divert or re-reroute a number of inventory (low thousands overnight is easily doable), if you a big account and have a good working relationship with a company like FedEx

My iPad just arrived in Memphis and now it's showing:
Estimated delivery May 31, 2010 by 12:00 PM

I haven't gotten any email from Apple. This blows. I ordered really late on May 9th. Ah well, no iPad for the weekend.

yes. my ipad is already in Mississauga.
so if yours is only on the way to memphis, it could get close for you. from there it still goes to toronto. so it all depends on if the winnipeg flight is over night or tomorrow morning!
good luck

Mine just arrived in indianapolis. I thought it was going to Memphis? It still say delivery Friday lol. Is it too much to hope that it jumps directly to Winnipeg next?

Mine just arrived in Memphis and the delivery date is now the 31st also. I'm kind of upset since I ordered within 20 minutes of the iPad being available in Canada. :( :(

Mine says the same thing but have Faith my friend. I believe that was just Fedex being conservative as they don't schedule their departure flights until their arrival flights land. They assumed that since your package probably landed after midnight on the 28th that it wouldn't reach it's city and then be on a truck by 9am.

According to Yahoo's more detailed tracker, my shipment in Mississauga 'left FedEx Ramp' at 2:11AM EDT (11:11PM PST). Is there a flight between there and CYVR that left around that time?

Update: For anyone in BC whose shipment is stuck in Memphis, there's FDX142 which gets to CYVR at 6:16AM. There's a chance FedEx won't send it that way, but under the circumstances it would seem they're running out of options if they want all the iPads to arrive on time.

Successfully tracked down the Mississauga to Vancouver shipment.

It's on Morningstar Air flight 7985, currently an hour from Calgary Int'l where it'll pause for an hour or so, then leave for CYVR, arriving at 4:31AM PDT.

You will get it, have faith, plus fx 120 departs right away, will land at about 7:30 and be onvehicle for delivery by your estimated arrival date.

This has got to be the worst experience ive had with fedex's online tracking...
this is what mine currently shows...
nothing about going to memphis, or even leaving ontario...
but this other site i use says it left ontario at 3:38 this morning.. so im hoping i get it my later today...

Does anyone else find it strange that there are people like Brendan above whose iPad mysteriously jumped from Arriving at Anchorage to being in Mississauga, while others like myself had our go through Anchorage and Memphis only to disappear in Mississauga and reappear as departing in Anchorage. My iPad has just passed through Memphis for the second time. Should be unloading again in Toronto this morning.

If I were less trusting individual, I would wonder if Apple didn't switch the labels on some of the iPads that had already arrived. Perhaps realizing that the shipment coming today won't reach customers too far from the GTA, so they switched some of the already arrived iPads that were going to nearby residents and sent them to the further residents. Thus such residents saw their iPads disappear in Anchorage, while the switchees saw theirs go back to Anchorage. Of course, I not this delusional ... I don't think.

I sure think it's weird... This is the first time I've seen so many preorders be so unconsistant with each other. And the weird thing is on that fedex flight tracker there's a flight that left a few hours ago on it was to Calgary, from Memphis... It's horribly set up and confusing on fedex's part. Like do you actually think ipads have gone backwards? Like from AK to memphis and back to AK and such.... It's weird.

Some people are letting the imaginations run wild I see. I doubt that there are too many people here that understand the logistics of international shipping.

Part of these processes are electronic transfer of customs documents but can show in the tracking info (without being listed as documents as they are all part of your shipment) So, the Ipad may well be in Mississauga or Calgary or Vancouver but the electronic docs transfer was late being done so it shows Anchorage or Memphis or Mississauga.

Chill folks, Fedex is good at what they do. (I work for a competitor)

Are they crazy???

Mine is still at the "May 27, 2010 12:37 PM | Delivery exception | xxxx | Future delivery requested"

There is no Apple store within 500 km radius so they not stilling it.

Fed-ex say I will probably get it tomorrow or Monday!!!! Its 10 minutes walk from my office!!!

My god ... my ipad has been "In transit" in MISSISSAUGA, since May 27, 2010 6:46 AM .....
I live near Montreal .. any chance I will be getting it today ? This is driving me insane !!!

CRAP!!! Just called FedEx... and it would seem it hasn't cleared customs yet and the lady on the phone said that she highly doubts that it will be delivered today.... So Monday it is for me :(
