Wow ... Im near Montreal ...
And if I look at the official Fedex page ... it says that it left Mississauga ...
But if I look at Yahoo Tracking page ... It says that it left Kingston ...
Witch one should I trust ?????

The Yahoo one is what the FedEx staff see. The first person I talked to didn't know why the status hadn't been updated which is why she had someone from te FedEx facility in Montreal call me and update me personally.

i assume it all depends on how close to montreal you are... I live in Beaconsfield so I assume I should get mine before the 9 pm mark...

Im 45 mins from Montreal ... guess I could see it today then ... I hope ...
If not .... do Fedex deliver on Saturdays ?

I believe that in the major cities it shouldn't be a problem... but 45 mins away, that I am not too sure about.

FedEx definitely don't know whats going on. Mine now is back in AK. The only thing is that it was delivered 30 minutes ago. Maybe I have another one on my name?

Apple screwed us big time.

FedEx reps confirmed to me yesterday noon (27th) that the iPads intended for Greater Toronto Area (Mississauga, Toronto, Scarborough) are indeed physically in Mississauga since yesterday morning. They are not in Anchorage or Memphis as the update says. They are physically sitting in Mississauga right now.

In a telephone conversation last night (10PM), after seeing the "Anchorage" update, FedEx said Apple ordered them not to release those iPad (intended for Greater Toronto Area) for today 28th.

The question is why Apple would ask FedEx to delay the delivery date by a day, if the iPads are already sitting there in Mississauga sorting facility.

Apple is obviously doing some sort of "switch" here.
- Either they are rerouting our iPad for their own stores in Toronto to address the demand, which is easily do-able (I work in logistics) and not surprising because there are a lot of Apple Stores in Toronto demanding for iPads.
- Or Apple have some other better uses for the iPad in the area that cannot be made known to us loyal customers.

Since Apple knows FedEx can easily deliver to the major cities downtown and adjacent suburb on Saturday, they can pull off such stunt.

The former argument is sound.

Not possible. iPads are serialized items and your serial number is in the invoice that they would have emailed to you already. From the moment that your iPad was "Prepared for shipment" it was assigned to you and only you. No switches are possible.

I am not sure what Apple is playing at, but I am not leaving it to chance. I just went to BestBuy and got their last 16GB 3G as insurrance in case mine doesn't come today. The store had 90 iPads of different models, only 5 of each 3G model. Futureshop also has them. These are the Dundas & 403 locations.

My order shows that it's still in Mississauga (as of yesterday morning), but just took delivery a half hour ago (in London). Their tracking system must be overloaded.

Lol mmm fedex yahoo says released for delivery (which is a few steps before it hits the truck) and fedex says in Memphis.

They have just over one hour to hit the time they keep saying :)

aggghhhh

Called Apple to vent some steam and they are oblivious, saying "It will arrive today!". Called FedEx again and was told it probably will not arrive until Tuesday. Personally, I don't think FedEx knows what the F is going on. Did they not anticipate a large quantity of these things coming through the mail? Should have just stood in line this morning.

Let me know if you get yours.

My wife just called to tell me that the iPad has been delivered!!!! :D

Our place is in Airdrie so obviously the no iPads for Alberta was BS

Yeah it looks like it's running behind a few hours. I just got an update from 8:15 this morning just now:

May 28, 2010 8:15 AM At local FedEx facility MISSISSAUGA, ON

Has anyone who received the 'no ipad for you' email, received theirs?

On the Fedex site, mine still says it's on schedule to be delivered today by 6pm and I got the email this morning at 6am.

Oh yeah, I'm out in BC

yes, the serial is automatically registered in their system as purchased by you, when it shipped. But they can easily take the serial assigned to your account off and update it with new ones. It can be done, with just a filter applied to all the preorders shipped to Toronto (and whichever other affected city), and substitute them with new ones. All automatically.

A switch is certainly doable and not difficult.

Hello,

New here just been reading post on here the info i got is

Fedex says Monday
Apple says by 6pm today
Fedex Tracking says it's still in MEMPHIS, TN
Fedex/yahoo Tracking says it's in MISSISSAUGA, ON

It wasn't Apple that has switched the order numbers, it was Elvis and the Mafia guy that shot JFK and they did it from the secret Nazi Moon base.

You keep ranting and raving and I'll wait for Fedex to deliver. Given the active weather yesterday (many thunderstorm across S Ontario and throughout the US midwest) a Fedex flight could very easily been delayed/diverted or it could easily have been a mechanical issue with an aircraft. Stuff happens. Tracking systems are only as good as the input operator (who are human).

This is hilarious. I talked to FedEx again and confirmed they have NO idea wtf is going on. Apparently mine is in Montreal. So I tell her that I'm looking on the Fedex/yahoo website and it says Released for delivery MISSISSAUGA, ON, She says "hold on one moment... Yes, that is correct it is in MISSISSAUGA, ON." I think they are doing damage control and just going with generic bs. I am actually enjoying the stories they feed me when I call. It's like a kinder surprise when you call... never know what you'll get.

Except that when the iPads arrive you will find that they are the same serial numbers indicated in your original email invoice. Thus, there will not have been any switch :)

Like I and others have said already, FedEx confirmed the iPad are already in Mississauga - the adjacent suburb next to Toronto city. so they are sitting there.

There is no iPad serial number in the original email invoice.

Still says "left ramp" in Mississauaga at 11pm last night :(

Is it in Vancouver yet??!!

Flying takes time. There aren't night flights from YYZ to YVR. FedEx doesn't fly this route to my knowledge so it uses most likely Air Canada or WestJet.
